Thought this would be up here already. During the expo, Valve hinted toward talking about teaming up with the creator's of Payday to make a prologue of the Left 4 Dead series. For those that know nothing of Payday, here's a clip:
Already looks alot like L4D, no? Supposedly, it supposed to show us what the L4D world was like at the very birth of the zombie appocalypse. Not sure if this will mean it'll exclude boomers, smokers, tanks, etc. seeing as how in the original L4D video, Bill said they were "changing". Maybe what we seen in L4D 1 were hybrids of other zombies given "powers", or hybrid doesn't per say mean tougher, just different. I'm also very curious on where the next L4D will take place. The franchise has done really well with making the settings something quite enjoyable, even per say, it's own character. I can never say no to more L4D, and I'd never think of seeing a third installment of the series until Valve can finally count to 3. Here's to hoping more information will come out about the next installment sometime soon. I'm already quite anxious. smile

I didn't watch much of E3 at all, sorry.
Hope you don't mind that I had a hard time believing you. But I Googled around, and this sounds pretty legit that Valve and Overkill are working together. Not a prequel, though.

Awwe, thats unfortunate. cry Fortunately, there still is room for them to put something together. I've been watching the videos of Payday, and it has me amped to see what those two companies can do together. Just glad Valve's expanding their horizons with other companies. 3nodding

I played Payday, imo it wasn't really good, it was ok though. It felt like it was lacking and the gameplay was pretty slow compared to L4D.
The Payday No Mercy map is alright. Nothing really special story wise. But it is filled with easter eggs and gives the Bill fans another look at him (smoking in the hospital like a boss).
And you find out that the Army and SWAT are bat s**t crazy enough to bomb a hospital just to stop you from obtaining a blood sample of the "green flu".
