I'm kinda curious, I think that's the Harvest Moon I first cut my teeth on and played the heck out of. I was also eyeing a DS version of River King (Mystic Valley) but havn't played that series before.

the 3ds harvest moon is a new story i don't know about the other game but i love my harvest moon tale of two towns its amazing with more story options and marriage choices for both genders than before and you don't have to wait for animals or a horse you get them as soon as you start playing
