Although I find myself incredibly rude for posting a thread when I have just joined, and in a guild that does not require consent of the leaders to join, I think it even more wise than usual for there to be an introduction thread. I do this mainly because every guild in gaia needs one for members to be come better acquainted with one another and do not feel left out, such as, being left out of role plays. Yes, I understand how guilds work because I had one on one of my other accounts (Hell of a Reaper), a yuri-fan guild to be exact. So, now, let's get down to the point and say "hi" to each other basically.
Name: (On gaia, I am typically known as Angel)
About Me: I mostly write fanfiction role plays, but the pickings have been slim and have been currently only working on one role play recently. Yes, it is a Mercer x Friend's Dovakhiin role play. I like doing LITERATE role plays. That means no *action* but instead fully written out and detailed actions and why they are performed. I rather despise one liners since they do not go into enough depth for the other writers to know what is going on. Yes, I will admit, for newbies, the amount I write will seem intimidating, but thanks to doing literate role plays with a friend of mine who writes 10 page posts, I have started to catch up to her standards and it has helped me in both writing role plays and writing papers for college. Oh and yes, I play Elder Scrolls games. I actually started with Skyrim, but have worked my way back to Oblivion and Daggerfall. Sadly, I cannot find a copy of Morrowind to purchase or borrow, and Daggerfall is kicking my butt...... and on the first level. They do not kid around when they say Daggerfall is way harder than even Skyrim on Master level.
Why do I cosplay Mercer? : Simple. I have cosplayed many characters I like. Farore (Username: Farore-GoddessofWind), Ekaterina Kurae (Hell of a Reaper), Chikaru Minamoto (Chikaru of Lulim), and Siegfriend Schtauffen (Schtauffen Siegfried). I like Mercer because he is not quite an anti-hero but more of an stigmatized character. People only see the front story of the TG questline but forget a few things about Mercer and Karliah that can easily make them hate Mercer and love Karliah without question.
1. Mercer never had his Nightingale Powers taken away when Nocturnal stripped Karliah of being a Nightingale entirely.
2. Nocturnal tells Karliah to never make the same "mistake" again while she says nothing bad about Mercer.
3. When asking about Gallus. Mercer goes into full detail and every emotion shows on his face. Karliah is as stiff as stone and gets pissy if you ask her too many questions, especially on her motives.
4. KARLIAH TRIED TO CRIPPLE THE THIEVES GUILD AND NEARLY SUCCEDED!! She bought Goldenglow which was practically the guild's only source flow thanks to a deal between them and Maven. Plus, the guild, while under Mercer, experienced their glory days of near infinite wealth, as stated by Vipir. Vekel, and Delvin
5. Of course Mercer is going to be a bossy old crank since no one is thankful for anything he does, and for the past decade, the guild has nearly died.
6. Why would Mercer say "Shadows Take Me!" when he is dying if he had pissed of Nocturnal and killed Gallus?
7. The journal that Enthir translates sounds nothing like how Gallus spoke, and the way Mercer was portrayed acting in it sounds nothing like him. Also, really? Maul of all people who admits not being good enough to join the TG fully is able to track a master thief (Mercer) without him knowing?
8.Nocturnal doesnt give a s**t if you take her key. She pretty much has let it go around freely for centuries from at least the time of the Second Era.
9. Gallus tells you "Good luck, Nightingale!" if you decide to run off with the key instead of returning it to the Sepulcher.
10. Gallus sounds spiteful when telling Karliah his farewells to her.
11. Perhaps the most important thing. KARLIAH SHOT YOU! Yes, Mercer stabs you later, but his huge spill sounds morel ike he was making you see him as a villain and trying to catch Karliah off guard so he could run away. I seriously doubt that arrow was to save your life. Also, everytime I wake up outside of Snow Veil, Karliah is putting away a dagger. No matter who you like better, Mercer or Karliah, Bethesda wanting you to be suspicious of both and not trusting of either. Come on, they are thieves!!
12. Why would Mercer head inland if he was going to run off with the key when he was at both the Cyrrodil and Morrowind borders? It looked like he was going to return it.
13. Mercer is actually being pretty nice in Irkngthand and funny too when he has "One step ahead. -Mercer-" carved into a room and leaves you both an upgraded version of the weapon you use most, and Detect Life Scrolls.
14. The funniest one to me. Why would Mercer leave his plans anywhere? Especially in a room in his house, with traps set up that not even he can turn off?
Okay, I am done blabbing and ranting now. Guess its time to go make friends and get out! *looks at clock* Oh yeah. Midnight, middle of nowhere, and I am not a party club sort of person. Back to geeky role plays! I will make more friends on here, and once the semester starts back up.
