Tonight on Cake Boss, famous Drag Queen/Transgender Carmen Carrera appeared. She made it quite clear to the producers that she wanted to be addressed as a woman. They went behind her back and called her a man. This is ignorant and disrespectful. As much so calling a homosexual the f-word, An Black person the n-word, or any other derogatory terms. I am posting just to raise awareness. Let's just all try to get along.

Im so upset right now, I cant stop crying. My heart truly hurts. I need people to understand that I KNOW I was born male and not ashamed of it. I wouldn't of cared if they said I was born male or USED TO BE male. By calling me a 'MAN' promotes ignorance and makes it ok to call transgender women, men. PEOPLE GET BULLIED, BEAT UP, AND KILLED FOR BEING TRANS BECAUSE OF THIS IGNORANCE! There was a time it was like that for gay people, even for some ethnic groups. Its not ok to call a gay person a f**, its not ok to call a spanish person a s**c, its not ok to call a black person a ******. THIS IS THE SAME TYPE OF THING. I made it VERY clear to the producers on how to use the correct wording before agreeing to filming this but instead they chose to poke fun and be disrespectful. Thats not what Im about! Please voice your opinion.

I watched the episode with Carmen in it, and read the apology by Buddy. Honestly, I really don't think there was anything malicious in his intent, but he should have worded what he said differently. As he said, he's been a big supporter of the GLBT community, and didn't mean to offend her. I'm not saying what he said was right, but it really does seem he had an ignorance of the Transgender community. I mean Carmen knew that the whole thing was suppose to be a prank on his cousin, and in the end it was suppose to be revealed that she used to be male. Instead, he said that she was a male, which is what caused the outrage. As he has apologized, I am going to ask that our members NOT flood their Facebook page with hate mail. The matter has been dealt with, and they are more than aware the outrage they caused. They seem to be trying to do right, so there's no need to demonize them for what seems to have been a mistake.
Edit: The reason I am asking my members to not attack them on Facebook is because at this point it will be considered harassment, and of course this is against Gaia's ToS. If I advocate it, then I will be in trouble, and the Guild will most likely be shut down. Of course, I can't control your actions or mind, so if you feel strongly about it then act on it in the manner of which you see fit.
