Name: Payson Annabell Kingston
House: Gryffindor
Age/Year: Twelve/Second year
Appearance:My appearance is that of a normal twelve year old except for some unique features of my own. My hair is a normal brown color and my eyes most often match being a dark brown color though on occasion they've been noticed to change to either an almost solid black or get lighter. I'm still only twelve so I'm rather short barely hitting four feet six inches, but I'm growing quickly.
I've never been a dresses and skirts kind of girl really, but I do have a few that I really love and will wear on rare occasions. Instead, I prefer to wear jeans or shorts and really any shirt or sweatshirt. Most often you'll find me in my school uniform. Jewelry isn't my thing either and I prefer to wear my converse or Birkenstocks when I'm out and about otherwise it's socks all the way. My hair is usually pulled up into a pony tail and sometimes I will incorporate a fish tail or french braid into it, but that's a rare commodity as well.
Speaking Style: My voice is finally starting to get rid of the childish squeak I've had since I was little, but it is present when I get excited about something. I have a strong British accent and don't care much for formal language unless I'm speaking to somebody important like and adult, professor, head boy/girl, or prefect.
Demeanor: People see me as that girl that isn't afraid to put herself out there and try something new, and it's true. I will introduce myself to new people, answer questions even if I think I'm wrong, help people out when they are lost or confused, or stand up for somebody else. I'm very confident and people see that in me. Sometimes it can be frightening to others and be a bit overwhelming.
Best Qualities: I'm a very confident person and am always willing to try new things. I'm also rather bright in the classroom and in hands on skills. I stand up for what I believe in, and I'm and quick thinker.
Worst Qualities/Flaws: I have a tendency to get bored when things get repetitive and need some change to keep me interested. My stubborness has gotten me in trouble in the past and no doubt it will in the future.
History: I grew up oblivious to the magical world. My parents are muggles as are my many brothers. We had no idea that such a thing existed until the life changing letter came in the mail. Of course, I began to suspect something a few years prior, but I kept it secret after my brother told me I was crazy and my imagination had gone wild. Boy was he wrong. Karma will get him soon enough.
I was always a bit of a tomboy because of my four brothers, and I didn't really get to hang out with my mum because she was always so busy. They would never had let me play with them if I was a sissy so I had to toughen up. I loved sports more than school, but I did work hard to keep my grades up and began accelerated classes.
When the headmaster of Hogwarts came on my eleventh birthday with an acceptance letter I was in shock. I didn't believe it was possible. Magic wasn't real it couldn't be, but there was no way to doubt it. All the odd things that had been happening and the headmaster of a wizarding school right in my house. I reluctantly accepted that I was a witch.
Everything seemed so odd to me and when I visited Diagon Alley I got the feeling that I was going to be way behind all the other students when I got to school. Especially since most grew up in wizarding families. I made my parents buy me tons of books on the wizarding world and I crammed the information into me wanting to be ready.
The sorting came and I had been a bit worried. Having read up on the houses I really wanted to be in Ravenclaw or perhaps Gryffindor. I was happy to have been sorted into Gryffindor and they were very welcoming to me. Turns out even the people from wizarding families didn't know all that much about magic, and from all my reading I knew quite a bit more than them. My favorite place in all of Hogwarts became the library when I stumbled upon it. Rows upon rows of books to expand my knowledge on.
Wand: My wand is made of elm wood and dragon heartstring. It is 10 3/4 inches long and I'm told it is slightly springy.
Hobbies:I really enjoy reading and studying in my spare time, but I do enjoy some other things such as wandering the grounds, wizard's chess, and just talking with friends.
Patronus Form: A male lion. Of course I cannot produce it yet.
