Lately, there has been plenty of discussion on who Amon is. I've heard quite a few ideas and theories, some absolutely impossible and ridiculous, others quite possible and strangely logical.

(I am one of those people feels the need to explain why and why not, so let me share some whys and why nots. P.S. I'm not trying to start any arguments, I just want to state my opinion. )

Why Aang is not Amon:

I've heard quite a lot of talk about Aang being Amon. Now, as much as I freaking love Aang, this is completely impossible. There can only be one Avatar at a time, Aang already had his turn. Plus, Aang is NOT a zombie, even if he was he wouldn't have the ability to bend anything because he's a goddamned zombie! Plus, you gotta think about this: Republic City is not in the same time we are, they don't have Bath Salts or people trying to get high off of toothpaste. Republic City is in the midst of their Industrial Boom, this is during the INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION! They don't have technology that can bring people back to life; THEY HAVE TYPEWRITERS AND SATOMOBILES! (Which are suppose to resemble Model T's and OLD cars) Plus, they wouldn't turn this isn't a zombie apocalypse themed show.


Why Amon isn't Asami:

As much as it would make sense and be quite typical of nickelodeon to do such a thing, it's just not right. I mean, come on, Asami is GETTING ALONG with the Avatar Crowd. Plus, what is she going to do she going to disguise as 'Amon' and then take off her costume and have a sleep over with Korra? No, I don't believe it. It's too predicable. Although, if this is the case, I would not be surprised. Amon did say that his parents were killed by firebenders and Asami's mother was killed by a firebender, so this idea could be possible but I still say that it isn't true. Plus, feel free to correct me on this one, I do believe that there is a scene that both Amon and Asami are in AS TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE. So... It's on the fence...


Why Amon isn't Tarrlock:

Anyone see the last episode? Yeah, there you go...


Now, I think that Amon is a nobody. I think that he is a nobody who went to the Lion Turtle and learn how to Energy Bend, either that or he was a part of a lost Chi bending tribe. I don't think that he is truly energy bending though, it just doesn't seem right to me. I think that, once again, Amon is some kind of kick a** master chi bender who can BLOCK people's bending for a long time, not take it away.
