The main Headquarters for the scientists of Alcove. Here, they study the science behind how and why pokemon evolve in the difference ways that they do, as well as learning the secrets behind Pokemon Cell Biology.
The Facility is close to the forest, and expeditions into the woods happen regularly.

 Lydia Cross [From pokemon Center]
"Hello?" Lydia called out. "Professor Alder? It's me, Lydia! Hello?" The lab looked tidy and well worked, but empty. "I wonder where everyone is." Pika pi... Walking through the lab, she noticed a monitor lit up. "Hey look. Is that an aerodactyl? And lileep?" She awed at them. "Oh! It's the professor! Professor Alder!" She called, unaware that the professor couldn't hear her from the lab. "I wonder if the professor is studying ancient pokemon," She said to no one. "It'd be so cool if I could train a pokemon like that. Don't you think so Voltz?" She looked at her pikachu. Pika!

xxxxxxA i n a xxO ' K e i f e xxxxxxxxxxii xx xxi xxx xxx xxx Aina rode on Ponyta casually, having since worn it down enough that it would allow her on her back. As she found out after walking for a bit, she had in fact hurt her ankle a bit. It wasn't anything serious – it would undoubtedly be ready for walking in just a few hours, so things could definitely be worse! It was odd though, really, how the flames didn't burn her! She'd read in articles before that the fire on it's back went without hurting those it trusted, but to experience it first hand was much different than reading! Snubbull wasn't as brazened as it's trainer however, and insisted on going back into it's ball rather than dealing with the Fire-type.
“Well!” She began enthusiastically, motioning for the Ponta to stop. It went on for a few more steps as to insinuate that it had not heard, or disobeyed, but did as it's trainer told it after nearing the door to the lab. “It looks like we're here!” She began, turning to the boy who'd been so kind as to show her here. As she'd learned, his name was Theo, and he was from Virbank City. It was nice, having traveled with someone from the same region.
Aina then cautiously hopped off of Ponyta, thanked it, and brought it back to it's ball.
Cautiously stepping up to the door, Aina knocked, uncertain as to whether or not she was allowed to simply just walk in. “Uh, hello? Professor Alder?” She asked, opening the door to find a girl, evidently a few years younger than her already inside. They hardly looked like a lab assistant, but oh well! Aina turned to Theo, and mentioned for him to come in before she approached the rather confused looking girl, and her adorably Pikachu.
“Hi!” She began, making a waving gesture before enthusiastically taking the girl's hand and shaking it. “Do you know there the professor is?” She asked. “I was needing to register as a trainer here, and oh! Maybe get a Pokedex too, even!” She explained, caught up in her excitement. Finally! She was so close to being an official trainer!

Lydia Cross Lydia didn't even have time to look up before being violently shaken--in the kindest way. "Hu-uh?" Her voice shook with her body and arm, even Voltz was stuggling to hold on as it was being tossed around on Lydia's shoulder. Pikaaaa! it called, afraid to fall. "The professor is there," Even her other arm shook as she tried to point to the monitor. Her head bobbed back and forth with the shake, and she hadn't been able to tell the professor was gone until she was set free. "Or... She was there just a moment ago..." She blinked, trying to recover. Voltz clung tight, sighing with relief. "Actually, I'm here to register too. My name is Lydia Cross," She smiled, about to give her hand before remembering what she'd just gotten out of. Instead, she placed it awkwardly behind her head.
With the moment awkward enough, she shifted the tear shaped pack that held onto her sleeping bag and Packed tent. All the motion had shook it enough to jar loose the bulky duel waist packs that held onto most of her supplies. It wasn't too heavy. Maybe thirty pounds or so. She'd tried to fit as much as she could carry in them for her adventures, even though she didn't have much first aid experience and couldn't cook. Though, once she carefully placed everything again to fit comfortably on her back, she went on with the awkward exchange of words. Anything to break the silence.
"Are you headed for the pokemon league too?" She asked, secretly hoping the professor would come up soon. "I'm here from Cerulean City, in the Kant region. So it's my first time training pokemon and being on my own away from home."

You know that I wish that this night would never be over. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXLionel "Theo" JacksonYou know that I wish that this night would never be over.
There's plenty of time to sleep, when we ๔เє. Aina was so far seeming to be a very nice girl, or at least Theo thought she was. Along the way to the lab he'd told her to call him Theo, but had not specifically said that that's what his name was. In return he'd then learned that the pretty pink hair was named Aina. He'd mentioned to her that he thought that that was a lovely name and it'd gotten an adorable thank you out of her. Now, they were at the lab, and she motioned for him to follow her inside, which he did without question. Theo wasn't really a man of words, at least not with strangers, so he didn't really say much of anything when the pink girl ran up to another girl already in the lab.
By the looks of it, the younger girl seemed to be about thirteen or so, probably just starting her pokemon journey. Rather than introduce himself like Aina did to her, he simply stayed quite until he was needed or someone chose to address him. From the back of the lab, a woman appeared, the person whom he assumed was the professor Alder lady. "Oh why hello there dearies~" The professor greeted the two girls while Theo remained silent in his corner. One would even say he was being anti-social back there, but in reality he just didn't care much for starting up a conversaion with someone he didn't know too well. "I'll take it you two are hear to register in the Phior league?" She asked them, smiling. ιƒ ι нα∂ му ωαу ωє'∂ ηєνєя ¢ℓσѕє συя єуєѕ! ________________________________________ Pokemon: Litwick Location: ???

xxxxxxA i n a xxO ' K e i f e xxxxxxxxxxii xxi xxi xxx xxx xxx Aina was eventually separated from the small girl, and only then did she realize how intrusive she'd been. Stepping back a foot or two to give Lydia space, she too rubbed her hand behind her head. “Aha, well, sorry about that.” She apologized quckly. “Anyways! I'm Aina O'Keife from Castelia City!” She replied. "And, him - that's Theo! He's from Virbank City!" She added, motioning to her new friend. “I don't really know what I want to do yet, really. There's one sure-fire way of figuring out, though!” She went on. Gyms, contests, you name it! She'd give it all a shot!
It was then that the professor came out, asking them if they were here to register. Aina turned to her in a heartbeat, an overenthusiastic grin written all over her face. “Pofessor Alder!” She exclaimed, half surprised, and half ecstatic. “Yes, please!”
Alder chuckled, looking over the group with a bright, coy smile. “Well! It looks like you three are off to a fantastic start!” She exclaimed – her voice carried well in the lab! “That Litwick of yours is so tame – it looks strong, too. It's not easy to raise Ghost Pokemon like that.” She praised Theo, then turning to Aina. “And unless my eyes are going on me, those are two Pokeballs you have there! You haven't even started off on your journey yet, either.” She pointed out, seeming mildly impressed. “And your Pikachu... You bond with it already as deep as most seasoned trainers. You have a knack for Pokemon, I know it – I'm looking forward to seeing how far you go.” She explained, crossing her arms and giving Lydia a solid nod of approval.
One of Alder's assistants then came from back with three Pokedex's, and handed them to the professor. “Alright, here you go.” She went on, giving a purple Pokedex to Lydia, a pink one to Aina, and a blue one to Theo. After handing them out, she took a step back, and smiled. “There! Each of your Pokedex's is already fine-tuned, programed, and ready to hit the road! You just need to fill our a form with some basics, like your name, address, home phone number, and e-mail, is all.” She explained, obviously proud of the small device. “On top of being a top notch encyclopedia, it's also your license! Each also has a Pokegear build right in! You can look up your Pokemon's level and moves, too, isn't that neat?” She asked, taking a classic red Pokedex from her lab pocket, and showing them how everything worked quickly. She was far too engrossed in admiring the high-tech machine at this point to actually see if the three trainers were keeping up, however.
As the professor went on, Aina nervously fiddled with hers, trying to follow the Professor's instructions. She had little luck at the moment however. How confusing! To save face she went on and nodded with whatever the excited woman said, pretending she knew exactly what they were saying. “Yeah, that's really cool...!”

Lydia Cross Lydia grew a wide smile as she took the pokedex and pokegear. There was just enough space in the strap pocket of her pack for them. Immediately, she started on the paper work, her hands couldn't be moving fast enough though. She wanted to jump up and down with absolute joy. Finally! She was a pokemon trainer! An official pokemon trainer! Sure, she'd forgotten half the instuctions for her gear, but that wasn't the important part now was it? "Alright! I'm all set!" She jumped up. "So, what would be the nearest Gym?" She looked to the professor.
"You pokegear should be able to tell you," She showed Lydia the settings once more. "The Alcove Gym leader is a little backed up. I'd recommend this gym for beginners," She pointed down on the Eidolon gym, "Or this one in Climate Town."
Lydia stared at the map, trying to figure out the best rout to take. "Looks like... The best rout would be to take the cycling road into Musing City. From there, it's an even split to Climate Town and Eidolon Town. So I'll have plenty of time to decide where to go!" She smiled at her pikachu, who nodded agreeably.
"I take it then that the three of you have decided to travel together?" Alder assumed. "It's so nice to see trainers working together and headed for their goals."
"Travel together?" Lydia pondered. "W-we only just met professor!"
"Oh? What a shame." Alder sighed. "The adventures are always more fun with friends to share it with."

xxxxxxA i n a xxO ' K e i f e xxxxxxxxxxii xxi xxi xxx xxx xxx Aina noticed, as the professor went on, that even Lydia was getting the hang of the Pokedex. How embarrassing! They were how many years younger than her, and they were acing through this like this technological nonsense was easy! Her face was a hot pink as she took out the device once more, which now matched the color of her face, and went on trying to figure it out again. As a bit of a guide, Aina copied what Lydia was doing on her own Pokedex; peering over their shoulder as they copied what the younger trainer did.
Soon enough, Aina completed the registration. Thank god! Hopefully, not all of this trainer business would be as tedious.
It was then, while Lydia and the professor were talking, that it was brought up that the Eidolon or Climate Gym would be a good choice for their first challenge. She decided to ignore the fact that Cycling Road was brought up, choosing instead to clue into the location of the first gym they should challenge, and the idea of them traveling together. “I think it's a great idea!” She interjected, quickly grabbing Lydia's hands in her own, and looking her in the eyes with her own hopeful ones. “Come on! You and me, we could be the best thing since bread and butter! We're traveling the same way too, so why not?” She went on. Truth be told, Aina was somewhat nervous about traveling herself, but couldn't manage to swallow her pride and admit this. Especially not to someone so young as Lydia!
Aina then went on and let go of Lydia's hands, bringing Theo into a tight hug. “And you! Someone strong to help us is a good idea too, don't you think?” She asked playfully whilst winking. Truth be told, she had grown somewhat fond of him, and wasn't at all opposed to the idea of him coming along.

Lydia Cross Lydia began to feel bad about what she had said; the look of disappointment in the professor's face made her guilty. A glance at Voltz, the pikachu didn't seem too phased by the professor's suggestion. It seemed more curious about the suggestion, but happy to just be in good company. "Well--" She had started, just before Aina came up to give another threat of shaking. The high energy girl was a marvel! She'd jumped right to agreeing with the professor entirely. "Bread and butter?" Lydia repeated, not really getting the metaphor into the density of her empty head. And it looked like she wasn't the only one Aina was dragging into agreement.
"You're really excited about that," She sweat dropped awkwardly. "I guess if it's okay with you guys, I'd really like to travel together." Shifting her bag again, it struck her. Unsure why it had, but it had! "It'd be great to have more people for company," She mumbled to herself, "But it'd also be nice to share the load." True, every day supplies like cloths, a towel, sleeping bag, tent, pillow... they all added up in weight. Then you had food supplies and medicines for both the trainer and the pokemon. Seasoned trainers must have been fit! It was nothing like the movies or the comics she'd read as a little girl. And even with the help of her sister, Lydia felt lagging. But then something else occurred. It sounded selfish, but... "Um... By the way... Can anyone cook?" She asked with great hesitation.

There's plenty of time to sleep, when we ๔เє. These two were just a bundle of energy! Especially Aina! Once they professor had asked about them travelling together, Theo found himself not only being introduced to the other girl, but also more or less nominated to be a part of their travelling adventures as the cute pink-haired girl hugged him to death. "I uh..." He stammered, trying to regain his composure a little, trying to figure out what he was supposed to say to this. It wasn't exactly everyday that this happened to somebody! "Uhhhh... Sure, I'd be happy to come along with you two..." Gaw! Talk about embarassing, having a pretty girl that he'd just met just start hugging him like that!
Then, he heard the other girl mention something about being able to cook; he pulled away from Aina for the time being. "I can cook..." He said a little awkwardly. Afterall, he had been traveling on his own for two years, cooking was something he was bound to learn! ιƒ ι нα∂ му ωαу ωє'∂ ηєνєя ¢ℓσѕє συя єуєѕ! ________________________________________ Pokemon: Litwick Location: ???

Lydia Cross "The matter's settled then!" Lydia cheered. "The three of us are traveling together. And the first stop is Musing City!" Pika!
Spying in the shows of a corner window, a set of trouble makers listened in and plotted. "Looks like the squirt's got some company with her now," Chris mentioned. "I couldn't have planned it better myself," Madison replied. "We came all the way here to liberate the lab's pokemon over for Team Chronos." "Say, do you think the squirt's new friends could use a little pokemon liberation?" The two cackled quietly. Aip pom pom! The last of the little gang giggled as it played with something, completely distracted. "What are you doing, aipom?" Madison glared over. "Quit goofing around with that ball!" Chris called. Elect-trode. Eltrode electrode! Aipom bounced on the pokemon more. Aipom pom! The duo gasped and screamed as they realized what their pokemon friend was monkeying around with. And it didn't look to happy. Boom! It lit up and sent them off with self destruct. "But I only fly first class!" "Why did our plan go ape before it even hatched?"
"Hm?" Lydia and the professor looked up as a strange sound echoed. "What was that?"
"Oh, it doesn't matter," The professor chuckled. "It's probably a couple of larger pokemon playing together. But you should be on your way with your friends. There's not much of a journey in here!"
"Oh ya!" Lydia remembered. "A girl named Page should be coming here soon too professor. Could you give her my pokegear com?"
"Of coarse. I'll set her right up. And I'll even put you on each other's challenge channel."
"Thanks professor!"
[Lydia exits to Town Square]
As the pair landed, crashing through trees before finding solid ground, it was a dizzying sight. "Everyone here?" Madison took an aching head count. "Present," Chris grumbled. "Hoothoot's here." "Drowzee too." "Looks like that's everyone." "But it feels like something is missing." The two pondered a minute, suddenly getting paranoid enough to make sure their pokemon were really there. "No, drowzee and hoothoot are both here." "So why do I get this feeling that we're missing someone?" "What do you think aipom?" "Aipom?" The two looked between them. No aipom. Looking back at the pokemon, no aipom. "AHHH! OUR LITTLE BUDDY IS MISSING!"

Location: ~ Cycling Road (Alcove) → Alcove Research Facility ~ Sara wondered through town searching for the professor’s lab. Releasing Venonat the two went on the hunt finally finding it near the forest edge. “There it is Venonat, let’s get registered and then we can get something to eat before we hit the road again.” She told him before heading to the entrance. “Hello anyone in here?” she spoke as she stepped through the door and then held it open for her friend. “Veno.” (Hello.) Venonat said walking in and looking around the lab. It was a typical looking lab but Sara and Venonat had never been in a lab before. “Hello there, I suppose you’re here to register for the Phior league.” The professor spoke as she popped her head out from behind the corner. “Yeah that’s right. Oh and the contests.” Sara replied with a smile. “Well then you’re going to need these.” She said handing over a pokedex and pokegear. “Thanks, um which direction should I head in?” she asked wondering where the first gym and contest would be. “Well I would suggest take the cycling road to Musing City and then take Route 507 to Climate Town. That’s a gym there you can start at and then there’s the contest in seven days in Magnolia Town. You can get there by taking Route 506 from Climate Town.” The professor suggested to Sara. “Okay thanks a lot.” Sara replied before looking down at Venonat. “Let’s get moving Venonat we don’t have much time.” She said before heading for the door. “Oh you might run into the trainers who were here before you.” The professor added before Sara left. Leaving the lab Sara hoped that they would be able to get some food before heading out again. (Exit to Pokemon Center → Cycling Road)Team: Venonat (M) - Lv. 10

 Page Donald
"Why thank you there kindly, ma'am," Page smiled as she took the pokegear and pokedex. She was sure that her friend had already been long on her way, probably with a few battles already under her belt.
"That reminds me," The assistant said, "A girl came by earlier and said to install her challenge number when you came, so it should be on there. Lydia, I think. She came in with a couple of other trainers, and I think they left together."
"Well, it certainly sounds like 'er," Page said. "Got Doduo here help'n to haul up everyth'n. Though it migh' be a right good start'n ta train'n. Build'n up them there lil' legs of it with all th' weigh'. Maybe get it a lil' fast'r in them battlings."
"Or... something like that." The assistant was lost with Page's way of speaking.
"Bet'n if we run up like a fly on a horse, we'd be catch'n righ' up to 'er in Cly-mate Town." She walked her two headed pokemon out of the lab. "Thank ya kine-ly again. Hope'n ta see ya soon!" She said as she climbed on the pokemon, mushing it on to ride off in a sprinting pace.

Niara “I'm not really a people person...” Seemed like others were also starting their journeys. Was this an every day thing or was this the time of year when trainers were starting a journey? If so, was it a coincidence her parents sent her here to start? Either way, Niara had to shake it off and get through her nervousness. This was her first day away from her home in about two years. She was looking around at every tree, corner and building, feeling more than paranoid about anything that might be watching her. Though when she stopped in front of the lab, she felt a light nudge on her leg.
Looking down, she saw Mitus, her Ralts, looking up at her with a reassuring smile. She smiled back softly, looking back at the lab. She took a deep breath in one final attempt to suppress her nervousness before she went to the door. After a moment of hesitation, she opened the door to see a few others already there. She became nervous again, blushing lightly as she got up the nerve to speak, though a little quietly. He-hello... I-I'm Niara Aeroth... I'm supposed to stop by here to meet Professor Alder? She wasn't sure what to do or say beyond that. She had only seen a couple of people beyond her family and estate's staff. It was very much like her first day at school again. |Mitus| “... but I hope we can be friends” Aeroth
