Also called Remembering Forest, There are two paths here that can cut right through to either Eidolon Town by using Darkrai's Road, or to Pendant City by walking Cresselia's Tretury.
No one uses them though.
Only fools or the truly insane come through here.
The surrounding wood gather thick fog in it to keep travelers lost for always and eternity.
No one has figured out why, but the fog never fades and illusions are made through the forest to frighten travelers and force them deeper into getting lost. It's unknown whether it's angry spirits or wicked pokemon; and no one is brave enough to investigate.
The only actual marker is one you never want to see: A mangled oak in the very center of the forest that somehow always draws the lost back to it.
That's probably how the rumor of Phior's violent history got started: An urban legend that terrible people and their pokemon were sentenced to death in a time of war; but that a few were innocent. And that's why they're angry--dying unjustly and never being able to find their way to the other side.
But that's just a tale they tell kids to keep them from going near the forest.
Phior never got involved with civil wars or violent wars.
So then... Why were they executed...?

  Lydia Cross
"Sorry," Lydia said as she began to tire of running. "My name's Lydia Cross."
"And, uh, Dune," The boy pointed at himself, still rigid and awkward.
They walked on a while. The trees started to get dense, blocking out the sun's light. "This place is getting creepy."
"It's like the woods are trying to hide the sky," Dune finally broke free of Sara's cute charm. The overwhelming feeling of unease taking its place and untying his tongue. "Does anyone else feel like we're being watched?"
"Ya... I don't like it." Lydia cradled her arms, hunching over in fear. 'Voltz, where are you?' She glanced around. The shadows in the trees almost looked like they were moving. It made her feel more uneasy. Ahead, it looked like the grass had over grown, becoming long and thick. "It's getting harder to see where the paths are."
"AH!" Dune jumped. "Th-the path! Behind us! It disappeared into grass!"
"What!?" Lydia looked away from her road.

 Location: ~ Musing City - Town Square → Illusion Forest ~ Sara smiled at both of them before speaking. "Nice to meet both of you although not under these circumstances anyways." she said wishing it hadn't happened this way. "I don't like this either... it's really dark in here..." Sara spoke nervously. "Veno..." the bug pokemon muttered shaking a little. "Don't worry Venonat everything will be fine I promise." she told him although her voice sounded unsure. "You aren't kidding..." Sara said looking over at the path behind them. "It's gone..." she muttered just as scared as everyone else. They were officially lost. "We better keep looking for Voltz and Latios. The sooner we find them the sooner we can find our way out of here." she suggested although they certainly would be lost if they weren't now. Team:  Venonat (M) - Lv. 10

Lydia Cross "Now I really wish I paid more attention to that advice Alalla gave me..." Lydia whined.
"Alalla? You mean that traveling fortune teller girl with the purple hair?" Dune looked back.
"Well, she had purple hair--"
"What'd she say!?"
Lydia grew stiff. "J-just not to look away from the path when near a forest." Tick. Tock. Tick. "Ah! I looked away!" She faced forward again. The path ahead was hidden. "But... That's impossible! There was a road here just a second ago. The grass couldn't have grown that fast!" She panicked more. "How are we gonna find our pokemon now?" She let herself fall into sitting beside venonat. Her feet were tired, and now they were lost and Lydia was tired.
Weeping was heard in the distance. Like someone else was lost with them. "Huh? Hello?"
"Who's there?" Lydia's head poked up. Scanning around, it was hard to tell if there was anything around there. "I hear it, I just don't see it."
"It's coming from over here..." Dune walk over, staying in sight for the others to follow.
"It's a girl." Lydia blinked, seeing a pale little girl, dressed in ragged white clothing with long and thick black hair falling over her.
"Hey, what's wrong?" Dune put a hand on her shoulder, turning her around. She didn't have a face.
"Ahhhhhhhhhhh!" They both screamed, even tododile went into alarm and dashed ahead. Lydia grabbed Sara's arm in a fright to run away, with Dune catching Venonat in a fretting run. "This place is creepy!"
"Why didn't she have a face!?" Deeper into the forest they ran.

Location: ~ Illusion Forest ~ "You don't actually think she was referring to this forest do you?" Sara asked a little unsure. Fortune tellers like they really knew what was going to happen... then again they could now couldn't they... "Maybe that's why they call this forest the Illusion Forest... one minute things are here and the next their gone..." she gulped wishing that wasn't how the forest got its name. Venonat watched Lydia fall beside him in defeat not knowing how they were going to find their missing pokemon. "Don't worry Lydia we'll find them..." she told her as Venonat rubbed up against Lydia. "Venonat." (Sara's right.) he spoke before looking around the area. His feelers twitched at the sound of weeping in the distance. "Who else would be out here?" she asked before they found the source to be a little girl. Both Venonat and Sara were pulled off far away from whoever the strange little girl was. "Who and what was that!?" Sara panicked freaking out a little. Even Venonat was panicking you could really tell these two were synced. Team: Venonat (M) - Lv. 10

Lydia Cross "That was... the craziest... thing ever...!" Lydia panted. "But where are we now?" She looked back and around, noting a scared Dune on the ground holding tight to venonat for comfort, and his tododile panting beside him.
"We're completely lost!" Dune whined in despair. "Nothing good could come of this! What next? More ghosts and weird things out to get us? I want my mommy..." he hugged onto the venonat. For such a big guy, he was so easily discouraged.
"This is no time to think like that!" Lydia scolded. "We're gonna find Voltz and Latios and then we're gonna get out of here together, right Sara?" She looked to her latest acquaintance for back up. That's when more screams came. Two taller figures came out from the shadows in a panic and crashed into the trio. "OW! Hey!" Lydia realized who it was.
"It's the brat!" Madison said in surprise.
"We have to get out of here!" Chris cried. "Those things are still after us!"
"What things?" Lydia tried to push them off. Nothing followed the goons over here.
"They must have stopped," Madison looked around carefully.
"Trying to find pokemon here was a bad idea! Couldn't we have just stayed in Alcove City? It was warm there with plenty of pokemon to liberate!"
Madison growled, lifting her whining companion up to give a good slap. "Get it together! Not in front of the brats!" She stopped and cleared her voice.
"Man. I thought I had problems," Dune blinked as he kept holding onto venonat like a teddy bear.
"We'd love to stay, but we have problems of our own."
"Our pokemon got separated from us in this weird place..."

Location: ~ Illusion Forest ~ "I have no idea. Venonat…?" Sara replied and then wondered where her pokemon was. Looking around she soon locked her sights onto Dune who had Venonat in his arms. "There you are." she spoke up with minor relief. "Nat..." (Help...) Venonat said squirming a little before giving up. Sara shook her head at Dune's response. "Really you have got to be kidding me?" she said amazed at how scared he was. "Right Lydia." she replied before jumping back as two strange people showed up. "Who are you guys?" she asked once the two weirdoes finished their conversation in front of the three of them. Venonat looked over at Madison and Chris much like Dune was. They certainly were strange. 'Where could they have gotten too?' Sara thought wondering where Voltz and Latios were. (( OOC: I will but I don't mind I liked the sudden grab and run actually smile )) Team: Venonat (M) - Lv. 10

Lydia Cross Who were they? Who were they!? "Pokemon abusers beware!"
"We're here to make things more unfair."
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unit the pokemon in our nation." A howl came from the fog.
"Madison!" Their tones became fearful and shaky.
"Chris!"
"AH! I just want to get out of here!"
"I'm pretty sure that was just a pokemon. Probably a poochyena," Lydia tried to seem brave. "Look. We should all stick together and try to find our pokemon. We'll stand a better chance if we all stick together and watch out for each other. "What could possibly happen with five trainers together?" Famous last words. That's when red eyes lit up the forest, all staring down at them before forming into terrible faces. And all of them were being held by the hairs, in the hands of headless bodies.
"Amscre!" Chris and madison cried out before bolting.
"On second thought, running seems like a good idea too!"
Pika! Pikachuu! Voltz called, walking beside a sad trapinch. I wonder where we are.
It's hopeless. Every time we hear something, it's always some monster chasing us.
No, we'll find them! They're probably looking for us too! We can't give up.
We're too small. We'll be eaten! Voltz tried to comfort its companion. Rustling came from the bush. What now? Trapinch asked in worry and exhaustion.
Just stay back. Voltz got charged up. But who else came from the brush but drowzee, hoothoot, and aipom. Team chronos pokemon. And they looked just as tired.

Location: ~ Illusion Forest ~ "You have got to be kidding me..." Sara muttered. These clowns were totally a waste of time. Even if their pokemon were lost like the others were. "Lydia's right." she replied not to scared about the howl. It could have been anything really so what was the point of worrying. Just when Sara was finally calming back down things got worse. "Let's get out of here!" Sara cried as she ran off. Venonat Started to freak out in Dune's arms scared out of his mind. Once she got away from the strange creepy faces Sara started to question everything. "Hey guys, what if this was all just the work of some pokemon?" she asked the group. Wondering what they thought about all of the strange things going on. Team: Venonat (M) - Lv. 10

Lydia Cross "What sort of pokemon... could make headless monsters like that?" Lydia panted, sweaty from the day's running around. The forest grew even darker. Night was coming up soon.
"I don't know about you guys, but I don't feel too good about looking around a creepy forest in the dark," Dune practically collapsed between Entei and Venonat.
"I hate to say it, but I guess you're right," Lydia gave a worried frown. "We could barely see in the day, night will make us even more lost. Maybe we should camp out and start in the morning..." She gulped. The idea of staying in such a terrible place made her skin crawl, and the thick of the grass made it impossible for her to pitch her tent to feel safe.
"Good idea. We can all stay in my tent," Dune fought off his own pack, rustling around with all the fabric of whatever shelter he had packed up in there.
"There's no where to set that down."
Dune grinned as if he was being cheeky with a well kept secret. "It's a hanging tent. We'll be safer off the ground. Less things to sneak up on us." He handed his pokemon a rope end. "I can get it up faster with a little help." He said, asking rather openly and seeming a little shy to have Sara work with him. His totodile took to working all the latches higher up in the branches, until the trainers could better secure it.
With all the help, their shelter was up. Totodile, being the lightest, sent down the rope ladder for everyone to climb in. It didn't look too secure from the ground, but once inside, the padding and tight hold made it feel lower to the ground than they really were. Ladies first, Dune insisted, helping Sara be the first to climb in and pick an arm to sleep. Lydia was next, and he wasn't as awkwardly shy with her like he was with Sara. "Pretty cool, right?" He smiled as he climbed into his sleeve of the tent, everything already packed up and out of reach from the ground.
But all the comfort was gone when silence set in as they tried to sleep. Between the strange and sudden noises, the dark, worrying about their pokemon, it was hard to sleep. Lydia especially had a hard time. Her day started off suckie. And after finally feeling like she could get back on her feet, this whole mess began. What was it that had her happy for a moment in this awful day? It was something on the way over to Musing City.
Music like this... It really picks up your mood, don't you think?
That was it. The sound of a trainer and a pokemon humming their favorite cheerful tune together. But now she couldn't remember the tune at all. She'd only heard it once. But the memory was a little bit of comfort, and one that settled in as she started to mutter a song she actually knew, keeping her raspy voice low. But in the quiet, The others must have heard it, because someone had begun to tap along in a rhythm, half humming with her. It was a song she'd heard from a movie; she and her sister would sing it together, pretending to be on some grand adventure.
Pika! The team of tiny pokemon cleared out an area under a peculiar oak. A secured place to sleep. The day had been spent fighting and arguing before they finally agreed to work together--strength in numbers was the winning argument. Now, they shared and looked out for each other. They snuggled close, tired and wanting to rest. Though, they still shared the same unease in missing their trainers.

Location: ~ Illusion Forest ~ "I don't know it was just a thought. You have to admit is sure sounds better than monsters chasing us." Sara told them. "Yeah same here." she agreed going around in the dark would just make things worse than they were. As much as Sara didn't want to say it Lydia was right they needed to make camp for the night. Sleeping in a creepy dark forest where monsters chase you around no matter where you go didn't sound fun to her. Sara looked over at Dune when he suggested a tent, where were they going to put that. That's when it all made sense. Helping to get the tent set up she was amazed at the idea. 'We totally need one of these back home.' she thought before being helped by Dune into the tent. "Thanks Dune." she replied as he helped her up. She couldn't help but feel like he liked her, his actions kind of straightened that thought. "Yeah sure is." Sara said shaking the thought from her head. Venonat managed to get up and snuggle in with Sara hoping nothing else creepy and scary would happen. With the strange eerie feeling about the forest it was hard to fall asleep until Lydia started to hum a song and Dune taped along the rhythm. It was definitely calming helping Sara's mind go at ease long enough for her to fall asleep. Team: Venonat (M) - Lv. 10

Lydia Cross Morning came, and the light was still dim in the dense forest. But that still wasn't the most unusual part: They'd been in the forest almost a full twenty four hours, and not one pokemon was sighted. "I wonder where all the pokemon are," Lydia muttered, beginning to seriously consider Sara's idea about the illusions they'd been tormented with. "A forest this vibrant and alive should have a lot of them."
"Maybe you scared them away with your singing," Dune teased. Lydia's face went red and embarrassed. She didn't have the most elegant voice; it was still raspy and breaking because of her awkward age. "What's with the face? It was dead silent except for you," He teased more, snickering a bit.
"Let's focus more on finding our pokemon and getting out of here," Lydia huffed. "Is that everything?" She looked between her two companions. 'Which way should we go now?'
"Ya, that's all of it," Dune said as he packed up the finals pieces. "Did you sleep well S-Sara?" He changed focus. "I, I mean--it wasn't uncomfortable or nothing? I can sleep just about anywhere, but it takes some getting used to. Sleeping in the air I mean! Not with other people--N-not like that though!"

Location: ~ Illusion Forest ~ Sara looked around as Lydia noticed that there wasn't a pokemon in sight. Listening to the two got at it like rivals she simply shook her head. "They are acting reduce less." she said looking down at Venonat beside her. "Venonat?" (You think so?) he spoke before looking around some more. Sara would have answered Lydia about where they could go however her attention was taken by Dune asking how her night was. "Yes, it was perfectly fine Dune." she answered him. "Veno venonat!" (I think they’re this way!) the bug cried out to the group stealing Sara's attention away. "Look, I think Venonat knows where to go." she said pointing towards him. "Let's go shall we." Sara added before walking after Venonat. Venonat were always attracted to light when in the dark so it made her wonder where he was headed. It just so happened he was being drawn to the center of the forest, a lone tree that always happened to glow. Team: Venonat (M) - Lv. 10

Lydia Cross Dune blushed, about to speak with his awkward head rubbing motion when Sara walked off. "O-oh, ya. Right!" He followed on, his totodile laughing at him. He could feel the tension settle and rise as they walked on, following venonat. The whole way, he couldn't help but think about what the two girls had said about the forest and pokemon. "H-hey, Sara? Does Venonat know foresight?"
"Huh?" Lydia glanced back. "What does that have to do with anything?"
"Grr," Dune became frustrated with his though being questioned. "Don't be so dense! If those things we saw are all illusions, foresight should be able to see through them!" He scolded, as though she should have known better. "If they really are just pokemon playing pranks, there's no reason why we can't capture them like any other pokemon, right?"
"Come to think of it, I wonder if team chronos' hoothoot knows foresight..." Lydia pondered. Though it was a short thought, a battle of somekind was heard up ahead. "That's Voltz's voice! I know it!" She dashed.

Location: ~ Illusion Forest ~ Sara looked over at Dune when he asked if Venonat knew foresight. "Yeah he does actually. I didn't even think of that. Nice thinking there Dune." she replied. If her theory was correct they could very well get down to the mystery of this forest. "Yeah we could." she answered Dune before Lydia spoke up. Sara shrugged at Lydia's thought as she really couldn't say whether their Hoothoot would know foresight. It would depend on what level the pokemon was at and whether or not it forgot the move for something else. After all Foresight if Sara wasn't mistaken would be one of the first attacks that pokemon would come to know. That's when they heard a battle going on not far away from them. "Good job Venonat." Sara praised as she ran off after Lydia. "Come on." she called to him. Venonat quickly followed after her hoping that they really had found Voltz and Latios. Team: Venonat (M) - Lv. 10
