Lydia Cross Packing up in te morning was probably the biggest part of Lydia's day every day. But it had gotten a little bit easier with her pokemon helping her out. And now presenting a cover song of Fuwa Fuwa Time by the Mummies, Butlers, and Bandits The pokegear played on the song. It looked like it was going to be a beautiful day on the way to Magnolia Town!
Having a Gliscore to Settle!
"So I got to thinking last night about how we should all train together," Lydia said while she walked with her small group of pokemon. "Stretch, since you can use transform, having practice battles will give me an idea on how everyone moves or can move. If we can get just a little bit creative, we might be able to take opponents by surprise! What do you guys think?" Each gave a quiet okay, putting faith in the trainer to help them understand. "Stretch is gonna be a key player in this team if we really want to give it our all. There's a girl in Kanto who's diddo doesn't just transform into pokemon, but into objects as well! We'll have to work really hard if we want to be that good."
"That gliscore has been going around and terrorizing travelers! Either keep it in the pokeball or get rid of it!"
"What's going on up there?" Lydia stopped, blinking at the scene before her. There were three guys and one girl corning some other tiny guy.
"But my gliscore hasn't gone anywhere. It couldn't have been mine!" His voice was cracking, one of the many displeasures of puberty.
"Give it a rest will ya?" "How dumb do you think we are? It's not like wild gliscore are everywhere! It had to be yours!" "That gliscore's sandstorm messed up my cloths and ruined my pokeball seals! And there's a contest coming up!" "If you won't leave us alone or make it leave, then we will!" It seemed like a riot was about to start. A glaceon, a wartortle, a poliwag, and a wingull were sent out.
"Hey! That's not fair! It's four against one!" Lydia called out, appauled by the scene.
"You'll thank us later when you realize just how much trouble this kid and his pokemon have caused!" One of the boys shorted back.
"No way!" Lydia ran to stand beside the cornered boy. "Stretch, transform into Voltz, and both of you battle!" The diddo obeyed, jumping from Lydia's shoulder beside pikachu.
"If that's the way you want it! Attack!!"
"Double thunder shock attack!" Lydia called, and the watery troupe was in for the biggest shock of their lives. Once it let up, they ran off. Lydia stood proud, and looked back at the boy. "You okay?"
"Y-ya... I think so anyway. My name's George by the way," He smiled gratefully.
"Lydia."

Lydia Cross "So why were those trainers attacking you and gliscore?" Lydia asked, breaking out some lunch with her new acquaintance.
"I guess you're new around here then, if you haven't heard..." George gave a disheartened look. "I've been out here for a month now, watching the migrations of some of the pokemon."
"Pokemon migrate?" Lydia raised a brow.
"Yes. You see, I want to become a great pokemon researcher like my dad and uncle some day. They work with professor Alder in Alcove City."
"Oh ya! I met professor Alder there to register for the pokemon league!" Lydia's ears perked up, gaining interest in the subject.
"So then you know that she doesn't normally stick to just one specialty of pokemon behavior like a lot of other regions; but rather, she tries to tie them all together: Pokemon environment determines how a pokemon will look, how it will eat, and sometimes what it evolves into, and the way people interact with pokemon and the environment is key to understanding more of pokemon evolution and trace back how things might have been centuries ago--even longer!" George became more passionate as he explained.
"I guess I never though about it," She admitted with a guilty laugh.
"I actually came up here not for grass or bug types like you might imagine, but to track normal types. And there's even a research field for each type of pokemon, you see."
"That explains why professor Alder always seems so busy, and why she has so many people working in her lab."
"Precisely. And that's why I want to join her team one day! I love everything about pokemon!"
"And the same goes for me!"
"So I've been tracking these dodou for a while now, but I nticed that this spot is pretty hot in terms of migration."
"Wait, I don't get it. What do you mean hot spot?"
"This area happens to be a merging point for a lot of different kinds of pokemon migration, and not just the dodou!"
"Well, what's so special about that?"
"Imagine this: You need to follow your family around in order to keep finding abundant food. Not only that, but you need to stay in a certain temperature range and environment. If you're used to dry and hot plain lands, then going into a chilled mountain area would probably be a really bad idea, even if there's food there!"
"Makes sense so far..."
"Now imagine that you have to compete for food, while being on the alert for preditors!"
"Seems like a lot of stress and work."
"It probably is, so you have to keep moving. But going the other way is a whole different family with different needs and enemies! And another! And another! So many different groups pass through, you think they might all collide and start to fight; but, somehow, they internally time when to move so that the food they like is here and they don't have to fight for space, water, or food!"
"I still don't really get it, but whatever," Lydia smiled on sheepishly.
"Just trust me: it's amazing!" George looked upward at the sky, imagining all the pokemon he'd seen and trying to picture every possibility he could.
"But what does that have to do with gliscore?" Lydia looked at her own pokemon playing with gliscore.
"Well, I'm not sure really. There's a gliscore that's been attacking people on the road."
"And they think it's yours?"
George gave a sad nod. "Sometimes I send gliscore out with a camera to get an aerial view of the place and the pokemon, so it could be hours before the wind brings him back. But I just know that my gliscore would never attack anyone without being provoked! And even then... Gliscore is a good pokemon!"
"But if it's gone for so long, how can you be sure?"
"It's my gut feeling! I've known gliscore too long. Ever since it was a baby gligar that got separated from its parents... Gliscore has always been a kind and good natured pokemon." George began to cry, try as he might to hold back his tears, he couldn't bare to think that his friend might have done something bad and it tore him up to hear so many accusations. "It's true that my gliscore knows sandstorm attack, but it's only to help it escape if it got in trouble--it would attack someone minding their own business! That's just not like him...!"
Lydia watched him, watched him sob and break down, and felt terrible for even suggesting that he might be wrong. "Oh George..."

Isis Chandra
Iris smiled in front of her laptop, her venomoth scouting above. "These pokemon look strong... Strong enough for Dusk's archives." She grinned terribly, like a horrid witch. "I see gloom and ivysuar, who's poison powder can be very useful. I see venopede... I see Spinarak. And nidoran... A healthy picking! Now lets get to work!! Swallot!" She called out her gluttonous pokemon. "Let's make the rules simple: You use eartquake and I'll catch the pokemon. I, of course, get the prime pickings! And if anyone tries to stop us... You can eat them. Swallow them whole! And digest them quickly!" She began to laugh childishly as she pictured the whole thing. "They always scream too, don't they?" She laughed more. "Why do they always scream when they're about to die? It won't help them." She gave a last grin, and made her way to the location of the poison types she spotted. Dusk was going to need an army to accomplish their goals. "Night is coming, and the Dusk will bring war with it."
