This is a small tavern, which holds the entrance to the vibrancy of Diagon Alley. Tap the bricks on the wall behind the building in the right order, and you will be granted entrance. The Leaky Cauldron is dark, but infamous for its charm.Stock Wizard Brew - 20ʛ

She often backed out of meetings to his disappointment. It gave Jasper a reason to get out though and he really did need to shop. The professor much preferred the leaky cauldron entrance. Apparating straight into diagon alley could be such a mess sometimes and you could pick up a conversation or two in the bar.
The place was quite crowded today. Only after noticing this did Jasper realize that today was one of the busiest days for diagon alley and he frowned. Jasper was never a big fan of crowds. They gave him anxiety and made him vulnerable. Jasper wasn't one to waste a trip though so he clutched his briefcase and pushed through to a table where he ordered a bottle of mead. He was going to need that to get through shopping today.
After taking a few sips, Jasper opened his briefcase and decided to work on some lessons for the upcoming school year. He knew waiting wouldn't make the crowds go away but he needed to see if his friend would show up and had been procrastinating all summer. Taking a glimpse around the inn, Jasper saw no familiar faces and decided that he could socialize later. It was still early in the day and many preferred to sleep in over the summer unlike him.

Cheval entered the Tavern feeling very cramped after his ride on the Knight Bus. It definitely was a sight that got a lot of funny looks. He has to sit on a seat with a horse body, needless to say it was very uncomfortable. His shirt that he wore was now wrinkled and his tail was a mess. Years of living with Wizards and studying their literature has made him more vain than any other centaur. He made his way through the crowded tavern to order a drink from the attendant. "One cup of tea, Please." Cheval came to Diagon Alley with the main purpose to buy some more books for his study but after that ride he needed to unwind first.

Since Adam's very first year at Hogwarts, he had established a sort of tradition that he, in time, became fond of, which was to find a nice darkly lit table in the corner of the pub and watch the many passersby that frequent it this time of year. He had been keeping himself busy at the castle these last few nights making the first preparations for the coming term. It was nice to sit down in the Cauldron every so often with a pipe and a cool ale to wash away the day's cares.
Today was a particularly tiresome day as he noticed on his morning stroll that the herd of thestrals that lived on the edge of the wood had decided to make a dumping ground of the Quidditch pitch. Spending the day clearing the pitch was not what he had planned, and it was all that he could do to keep from making an evening meal out of them. He decided to get away for the night and booked a room at the Cauldron. After picking up the odds and ends he needed for work tomorrow he plopped himself into a booth, ordered a nice tall ale, and lit up. Adam Hood Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts

After thoroughly wandering Diagon Alley, the new professor made her way into the Leaky Cauldron. Perhaps here she would meet some of her new colleagues. Bonnie sat at the bar, asking for pumpkin juice. She glanced around the room when someone caught her eye. Her memory rarely failed her, but she had trouble remembering where she knew this man from. Jackson? No, that wasn't it... Jacob? Nope... The redhead sat for quite some time trying to remember him. It finally clicked. She recognized him from school. His first name was Jasper, but she couldn't remember his long last name. They had both been in Ravenclaw house, and he had been a year younger than her. This had given them some common friends, and they had been on friendly terms.
Wasn't there something else about him too? Something kind of strange? Bonnie was frustrated with her lack of memory and decided to approach him. She had nothing to lose, really. If he didn't recognize her, the worst that could happen is that she meet a new colleague. Her curiosity won out. Bonnie picked up her bag and her pumpkin juice, and she walked over to the other side of the room.
"Hello," Bonnie started somewhat hesitantly in her strong scottish accent, setting her glass on the table. "This might sound sort of strange, but I recognize you. I think we went to school together. My name is Bonnie McIntyre... from Ravenclaw?" Bonnie remembered every reason that she hated being the new person.

He usually did the same thing every year, but of course he caused a fire in his office once by accident and burned most of his papers. Jasper was never very organized and failed to remember such things that he didn't think of often.
It was when Jasper took another sip of his mead that he saw a shape appear at his table and the woman spoke to him. A light smile appeared on Jasper's face as she finished speaking. It only took him a moment to remember the red headed girl from his school days. Jasper stood up and held out his hand. "My my. Bonnie is that really you? You look so different! It has been quite a while. Please do sit down."
After shaking her hand, Jasper shuffled his papers together and made space for her at the table. "What brings you here?" Jasper sat down and for a moment thought he imagined Bonnie and him talking in the great hall of Hogwarts. He pushed the thought away and tried to focus on what his former classmate was saying.

The moment Bonnie saw the look of recognition in Jasper's eyes, she smiled in both relief and greeting. Bonnie then noticed a bunch of papers. "Oh, I'm sorry if I've interrupted you! I just hadn't seen you in so long... I had to come make sure it was you!" The woman sat at the table, slinging her bag on the back of her chair. Bonnie supposed she'd changed, but so had he. "Twenty years does tend to have its effects on a person. You don't exactly look like the young schoolboy I remember," Bonnie smirked.
"I'm teaching this year," she replied. "Time came for a change, as it always does, and I was offered a position teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts." Bonnie smiled, "Though I'd never have envisioned myself as a teacher." Even though she had been a Ravenclaw, many people at Hogwarts had questioned the Sorting Hat's judgement. Bonnie had always been a bit too bold than a typical Ravenclaw student. "So, I guess I'm sort of the new kid at school."
Bonnie realized she had no idea what Jasper was doing here either. She could see him as a professor as well, if he hadn't changed much. He had been top of the class, determined, if even a little arrogant. "What about you? What brings you to Diagon Alley?" Bonnie took a sip.

Yes, they all changed didn't they but not past recognition. He had been a gangly awkward boy in school but that boy was mostly gone. Jasper probably only remembered Bonnie because one of his close friends had had a huge crush on her in school for like three years though he couldn't remember who or if they ever did go out. Jasper never was very good at remembering names or faces.
Jasper now thought back to the image that had flickered through his head when she first came over and now understood. They would be in the great hall together once again. Oh that's wonderful. That time comes for many of us. I'm sure you'll do great. Jasper's eyes became unfocused for a moment as his vision doubled and saw Bonnie in the DADA classroom.
He focused on the Bonnie speaking. The crowd in the inn was making so much noise that it was hard to focus on the present. "Oh I was supposed to meet a friend. He looked at his pocket watch for a moment. I was just working on my lessons while waiting, but it seems they are not coming. I need to restock my supplies for the year though and maybe find some new books as well so it was a good excuse to take a trip to diagon alley. Jasper gave a shy smile. He could turn into a recluse during summer breaks.

It was nice to know that Jasper would be at Hogwarts this year. He would be someone she knows, even if they hadn't spoken for years. "Sounds very similar to my plans. I needed all new supplies, obviously. This also seemed like the perfect opportunity to come and meet people." Bonnie thought for a moment, glancing at the papers on the table. "You teach... Charms?" It was a guess, but a smart one. Jasper had always been interested in work with practical spells. Bonnie recalled reading an article about him inventing spells several years back.
Bonnie wondered who Jasper was meeting, which, of course, was none of her business. It wasn't very polite of them to not show up. She tucked away a stray curly strand of hair.

"It seems everybody has the same plans today. Busiest time of year." Although Jasper resented the crowds he was glad he came out. Plus he got to meet his new colleague and old acquaintance. He assumed it made her glad to have caught up with him.
"Good guess." He said with a smile. "Of course I suppose my love of Charms has never been a secret." Jasper chuckled slightly. He had been dealing with charms almost all his life and even at Hogwarts had been very close to the professor.
Jasper tried to remember what field Bonnie had gone into after Hogwarts but failed to. He would assume it was probably the auror office for her but it wasn't always the case for the dark arts teachers. "So what have you been doing these past years?" Jasper wasn't great at conversation. Sooner or later he would run out of things to talk about and he would resort to talking about the weather or something. Perhaps he hadn't changed as much as he liked to think. He was still an awkward kid at times.
Jasper zoned out for a moment again and smiled. He saw three people at the table instead of two. "I think my friend may be coming after all. You may be interested in meeting her." He took another gulp of his mead wishing to have not seen that.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - Transfiguration Professor -Not to anyone's surprise, Lucille was running late as per usual. If only someone would give her some slack as it was the summer after all. The summer was meant for sleeping and other lazy activity of the sorts. Such as planned ones of catching a drink with her old colleague Jasper Morgenstern. Lucille had already been close to forty-five minutes late from sleeping in and from struggling to get ready as fast as she possibly could. She had been up all night trying to finish the last few preparations regarding future assignments, but collapsed out of exhaustion nonetheless. Slapping on all sorts of powder to hide the noticeable fatigue and with a last look in the mirror, she was out the door. As she slammed the door shut from her father's small house, she yelled behind her shoulder to her most likely still sleeping parent, "I'm going out!"
Lucille clutched the tiredly written shopping list in one hand as she briskly walked through the crowds through the alley to reach The Leaky Cauldron. She knew the way after traveling the same paths each year to obtain the necessary supplies she needed for the rest of the year. She checked her wrist that had a convenient watch resting on it that notified her that she was now an hour late for the meeting of her and Japser. Speaking aloud her frustration in herself for being so late, "He must be gone by now!" she sighed with irritation as her brisk pace began to fasten. She normally wasn't this irritated or late for appointments/meetings, but due to being exceptionally hard on herself and also the factor of not being able to handle disappointment well, she was a little anger, stressed mess.
Finally reaching her destination, she stood a bit near the entrance before entering to collect herself and her breath. She sighed trying to fill herself with confidence, in vain as it usually was, and returned to her polite, polished, and respectful self. She entered the bar expecting Jasper to be sitting alone with a stern and impatient expression plastered on his face, but to her surprise he was with someone having a conversation. So I had two people waiting on me? Great.. Lucille's irritation slipped through slightly upon the thought. She walked over to the table beginning to apologize, "I'm so sorry I'm late. I was up all night and--" Lucille stopped mid-thought as she saw the woman now up close and fully acknowledged her. She stuck out her hand as she began to set down the bag she had been holding, "I'm Professor Lucille Amastrow, and you are?" she gave her a warm smile waiting for the woman's reply and to take her out-stretched hand.

It was starting to become very busy. Bonnie glanced out the windows at chaotic streets and shops, momentarily distracted by robes of various size and colour. "I was an auror for many years, and, eventually, Head of the Auror Office for about ten years." Bonnie's mind was brought back to the conversation. She had been the first ever female Head of Office. It had been a job she loved, but it could be crazy. In the wizarding world, the woman was quite famous. In search of some peace and change, Bonnie had then travelled for a year before being offered a job at Hogwarts. "What about you? How long have you been teaching at Hogwarts?"
Bonnie was glad to be meeting another person today, and she smiled at the news. "Wonderful. Meeting people is why I'm here!" The smile was somewhat genuine, but hid an edge of disappointment. It had been nice catching up.
When the young lady entered the tavern, Bonnie turned her head to see who was joining them. Lateness usually didn't sit well with the redhead, but she was trying to be flexible, as she was new and needed to meet people. "Hi Lucille, I'm Professor Bonnie McIntyre," she started. "I'll be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts this year at Hogwarts."

She moves herself to the bar and orders herself a pumpkin juice. She pulls her pet over to a table and ties him to the leg as she drinks, quietly staring out the window. She overheard a few things coming from a table over, her colleagues talking idly, seeming to be waiting for somebody. Her chocolate eyes move from out the window to her pet, her hand moving to soothe his head gently, the feathers on his head ruffling slightly.

That was quite an achievement. Everybody had their reasons for going down a new path and Jasper didn't want to pry too much at this point. After all they did just meet again after twenty years. "I've been teaching Charms for nine years. It was always what I was meant to do. Let myself get sidetracked along the way." Not going straight into teaching was Jasper's biggest regret.
Jasper hadn't expected Lucille so soon. Then again she wasn't one to be late and had probably rushed over here as fast as she could. Jasper didn't mind though. He had no where to be really and had run into Bonnie. "That's alright Lucille. I knew it was probably something important." Jasper wasn't very close to Lucille. They had taught together for about five years now though and you tend to get to know your colleagues well. "Sit down and have a drink." Jasper put the rest of his papers back into his suitcase and pulled his mead closer. Jasper took a deep breathe to clear his head. "Lucille teaches transfiguration. " He said to Bonnie not quite sure what to say.

XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - Transfiguration Professor -When Bonnie didn't reach to receive Lucille's hand after introducing herself, Lucille couldn't help but fill herself with mental notes and guilt. Holding the warm smile on her face until after the introductions would seize, she would then relax her face, "Defense Against The Dark Arts, hmm? Is this your first year teaching at Hogwarts?" Bonnie looked quite familiar to Lucille, but she just couldn't quite put her name on it and so did her name somewhat spark importance. She also recalled an older professor for DADA that resigned last year, but Lucille couldn't remember if she had seen Bonnie teaching another subject at one point.
Lucille turned back to Jasper before replying to Bonnie. She lingered on his words for a few seconds deep in thought as another wave of disappointment came through. Yes... important. While I'm sitting around he's probably already finished with all of the preparations. "Ah, never mind that. I'm here now and that's all that counts, right?" She could feel the awkward atmosphere and tension heavy in the air around them and felt as if it wouldn't go away for a long while. Her social skills in the last five years have grown tremendously talking to the students and faculty, so she assumed being at a loss for words wouldn't be too easy to obtain. Realizing that she was still standing, she dragged a chair from an empty table to the table they were sitting at. She sat down seeing a drink appear in front of her hoping this drink would offer some relaxation. Lucille only drank occasionally, but when she did she enjoyed it.
She shifted in her seat as her gaze addressed the both of them, but at the same time mostly towards Bonnie once again. "Yes, I've been teaching Transfiguration. For the last five years in fact, and I regret none of them as they've been a magical experience." Lucille gave a slight laugh as she didn't realize the pun until she finished saying the words. "Literally," she added hoping it would lighten the mood just the slightest bit. Feeling the obligation to ramble since now that they were on the subject of teaching, she couldn't help herself. She was so very passionate about her teaching that it was almost pathetic. "You see, the trick is to teach the students morals along the way. Call me unorthodox, but I feel as if once you do that you are able to connect to the students on a deeper level." Lucille felt as if she were merely embarrassing herself so she tried to hold herself back from eagerly rambling by taking a sip of the drink that sat in-front of her.
