My main is an Staff Evie, so I'll be covering everything I can/know about Staff Evie.
Please, by all means correct any information if I am wrong. (:
Skills for an Evie.
As an Evie in general, it is essential to raise Magic Critical Hits and Intelligence Mastery.
Those skills generally raise your M.ATT or Magic Attack, and INT or Intelligence. (INT generally raises you're M.ATT.) Also raise your Magic Mastery, which will also help with your M.ATT. Damage dealt as an Evie go along with M.ATT. Also raise your Mana Shield as you progress in game. Mana Shield is what keeps your Health from depleting right away after getting hit, by making somewhat of a barrier for your health. The stronger the Mana Shield is, the longer it takes to break, keeping it from
Onward with Staff Skills that will be really useful during your gameplay.
Magic Arrow, and Focus Skills.
Magic Arrow
Magic Arrow is what I would call one of your primary attacks. If you solo a lot, you'll find that you will be using Magic Arrow the most. At Rank 6, Magic Arrow would increase it's damage by 73%, and increase the opponent's knockdown by 17%. It's a great skill when you find yourself stuck a lot of monsters around you, and can't find the right timing to cast Focus Skills right away. (Which I will get into shortly.) {edit}(remember, this skill is almost useless before rank 9)
Focus Skills
Focus Skills are deal great damage, I would suggest to raise these, but don't worry too much about maxing asap. They have a cool down for each focus skill used. There is a total of five offensive and one for survivability.
Focus Skills:
Mana Mine-It doesn't do much damage, but can get you away from smaller mobs. It's cool down time is about 1 second or so, so it cools down real fast.
Firebolt-A bolt of fire that does great burst damage to more than one monster at a time. It's one of my most used skills, even at level 67. It's quick, and has a cool down of about 3-4 seconds.
Ice Blast-A blast of ice that kills, or freezes more than one monster at a time, it's useful at lower levels, but becomes less of a necessity as the game progresses. It's an okay skill overall, but I wouldn't say it's my favorite. Has a cool down of about 3-4 seconds as well.
Ice Spear -Ice Spear is useful because it can freeze bosses, giving you a brief time to deal damage to them. It deals a good amount of damage when directly hitting a boss. I would raise this skill. Ice Spear has a cool down of about 8-10 seconds.
Blind Arrow-Blind Arrow is what I would call a series of Magic Arrows going directly towards a monster, or boss. It deals really good damage, I would also suggest raising this skill. It has cool down of about 12-15 seconds.
Healing Corona-I suggest maxing this out. It's the only focus skill for healing, and it is a life saver. Healing Corona heals a great amount of health for you, and your allies. However, make sure to use it wisely. It has a 3 minute cool down. (:
Note: Ice Spear and Blind Arrows have a longer cool down. Although they deal good damage, their time for reuse takes a bit of time. Make sure to use Magic Arrow. It's important when in battle. Focus Skills are good, but you can't rely on them 100% of the battle. As for Healing Corona, make sure to use it wisely (right place and time). I suggest saving it for boss fights.
Survivability and Support.
Healing Corona is a focus skill for survival as I already mentioned. However, there are other skills you would want to look at for survivability. Some skills mentioned might also apply for the other heroes in the story. (Lann, Fiona, and Karok.)
Mana Amber-Mana Amber pretty much embraces you inside blue crystal-like mana that protects you from opponent's hits against you. Mana Amber is basically a full-body shield that absorbs damage from your foe. It's a lifeline to have, max it out as soon as possible.
Flying Sparrow- Flying Sparrow is an extension to Evie's hop,
you can activate it when you're in the air before you hit the ground.
Flying sparrow backwards is longer.
It does have a little bit of attack on it, but it's minimal, only useful for knocking down trash mobs.
Flying Sparrow is a very good evasion move, the only move that doesn't kill you from colru's stone throw, and some other attacks.
Revive-Is of course, a revival skill for a fallen ally. Revival can be used on one ally at a time, and has a 3 minute or so cool down. It's a great support skill in raids, especially when out of Phoenix Feathers, and Party Revive Feathers. It is an Evie skill, so both Staff, and Evie can use it the same.
Standing Endurance-Reduces the time from being knocked down. After Rank 9, it offers an immediate roll-up from being knocked down.
Life Flare-I cannot tell you how many times Life Flare kept me from dying on any of my characters in-game. Life Flare makes damage on your character less than it should be when it kicks in, the higher ranked the better. I aim to max Life Flare out on all my characters.
SP Skills
SP Skills offer good support, offense, and survivability. Of course, SP Skills are available upon the amount of SP accumulated by killing monsters.
SP:Clipped Wings- It's a slow-down skill, but it generally doesn't do much. I don't suggest using this SP Skill often. Saving the SP accumulated in battle for a certain SP Skills that will bring more use in the long run.
SP:Regeneration- SP:Regeneration is something of a health skill. It regenerates the health (HP) of your character and your allies in a party for a short amount of time. Requires 2 SP Bars for use.
SP:Reverse Gravity-There is nothing better than to raising your foes off the ground, making them helpless to your wrath, then smashing them to the ground! Reverse Gravity is a high damaging SP skill that takes a full SP Bar to use. I suggest raising this SP Skill.
Alchemy
Alchemy:Mercury Trap-I didn't max this skill out since I generally don't use it much. It traps your enemies in a sticky, mercury substance, giving you the advantage to kill them easier. I use it for titles that require a certain amount of kills, and its usual as a decoy to hop away from a monster much more effectively.
Alchemy:Create Golem-Golem does a great damage, and hold back your enemy. I suggest this in bosses. Especially when soloing. I suggest raising this skill hand on hand with Golem Mastery.
Alchemy: Mana Pistol- Mana Pistol doesn't do as much damage as Golem, but is really good for soloing as well, it makes your foe focus on it, and it shoots at the foe causing damage to it, Giving you time to either heal if needed, or cast a stronger Focus Skill (Ice Spear, Blind Arrow, etc) I suggest raising this skill.
Well, that's pretty much it. Again, if I missed something, please mention it. (:
You learn something new every day!
Additional Notes from My Guild:
Guild Admin Atropia says:
Magic missile stam consumption is minimal, if you hop after you cast u regen enough stam to cast it again so u can magic arrow > hop repeat infinitely
Ice blast's cooldown is enough that if you hold focus down (slow charging) you can spam it
Fireball's cooldown is at 6-7 seconds, pretty sure 6.
Ice spear's cooldown is 15 secs
Blind arrow's cooldown is 30 secs
You can uberhop after laying down a mana mine, moves the same amount of space as flying sparrow but u move much faster, at same amount of stam, but more damage
You can kite with mana mine and somewhat with firebolt
Ever since staff evie revamp, physical att has become completely useless for staff evies
Survivability:
For most part, if you're out of mana shield, you're dead if you get hit
Mana amber when maxed is near invincible, there are a few exceptions
Glas air-swoop breaks through it unless you have REALLY HIGH INT
Titan triple ground-pound breaks it after one or two hits.
Ingkells triple swing breaks it after two hits?
There are also a few other exceptions but those are the ones you'll have to be careful about.
Alchemy:
Mercury trap is very useful against fast enemies like werewolves in trampled plains, it's also VERY nice in labyrinth to keep them trapped (careful of staff evies later on with blind arrow).
Golem is somewhat useful, but not useful enough in later bosses even with maxed golem and golem mastery. I find myself rarely using it, mostly only in my hero macha hidden solos ^_^, but it just simply moves too slow.
Mana pistol is much better than golem as in attacks, the range is very nice, and when maxed, it has 4 hits before it has to reload. Every time it gets hit, it has to reload again. When the target gets into its "aggro range", it reloads and starts shooting at it. Note that the bullet travel range is actually much further than the aggro range, lol. The hp of mana pistol is also quite decent.
Regeneration is a must max for dragon raids, 24 ppl x amount of hp is a lot of hp. Everyone goes OMG OMG REGEN NAO PL0X, lol
Standing endurance stam cost from getting up instantly is somewhat high, around 25-30 stam depending on level. You aren't invincible when you're getting up so be careful.
Magic missile damage is ridiculous compared to focus spells, it's simply not worth it to use ice blast against a boss because of the recovery frames. Fireball can be hop-canceled and u can kite with it so it's ok. Ice spear and blind arrow can be used to get some SP, and damage too, so max those.
Spamming magic missile is the best way to get sp, at a stam cost. If you hop between every MM then u kill your sp gain but you do the same damage but with no stam cost.
