Missed the sign-ups? Don't worry! There will be plenty of chances to win a free pet just by sticking around! So go check out the teams and support your favorite to be entered into free raffles and be eligable for games! Welcome to the summer rp event!(as always, any rat colored by me has the option of getting their lines colored for free, if you'd prefer)The Story...It is said that once in a great while, a white rat is born. Though the reason why seems to differ from colony to colony, but there's one thing the Wilds agree on. It's always a bad omen.... Chased away from her home, this rare and wild albino female has been surviving by living a solitary life in the pet shop; running at any sound and watching the Fancy's so she knows where to find food. But living alone is no life for a rat. Watching the others, she's managed to dye herself by splashing around the paint or letting it drip on her; not so intricate a design as those she's seen but maybe it'll be enough. She hopes to one day join a colony of the Tame, those that look more like her, and find a home she's never had. .... Unfortunately, there's some rats out there that have other plans... The Heroine...

Click the banner to be taken to Team WildThe Search and Rescue Reclaim...Your colony has been living under the floor boards for as long as there's been a history among your people, and when the big water came your kind faced a new hardship. You never before realized how much you relied on the humans; even if they were a mortal enemy. They provided new resources nearly daily, and without them your stockpiles are crumbling. At first it wasn't much of an issue. With all of those lost in the flood, there wasn't so many mouths to feed and no one could foresee how the lack of food would effect the whole colony down the line. But now it's to that point, isn't it? Your numbers are rebounding, and the lack of food is becoming obvious. There is talk of going topside, of claiming what the humans abandoned. Surely there's an abundance of food there, there must be. After all, there's all of those useless 'pets' making out just fine. Perhaps there's enough to provide a cushy lifestyle, if they could just figure out a way to claim the store. .... The colony has paw-picked a team of rats to investigate the layout of the store and to gather whatever information they can that might aid in an invasion. It just so happens that an exile has been seen living rather close to the Tame, even painting herself like him. It's agreed that she must know more about these rats, and how best they could be chased away or killed. But first you must catch her. The Captain...

Click the banner to be taken to Team NezumiThe Trial by Fire...Your colony is a new one, just freshly formed even, and there's a lot of pressure for everyone to find their place in the ranks. The Alpha has their paws full with trying to bring about some sort of order, so perhaps there's a sigh of relief when reports start coming in of an odd and solitary female hanging about that has a more wild look to her. Finally, something to send some of the more annoying rats to chase. Who knows, maybe they'd even succeed in chasing her out. Now that would be killing two birds with one glass door, wouldn't it? The overly zealous would have a chance to prove themselves, and perhaps word would spread that the new colony isn't something to take lightly. Then again, maybe adding another rat to your ranks would be a good idea. The more the better, right? Food is in abundance, and there's safety in numbers. Ah well, surely the situation will sort itself out. ........ You are the young and proud of your colony, out to prove yourselves and advance in the ranks. And with a strange rat sniffing around, there's just one thing to do. Your team has been picked to get rid of this threat, in whatever means necessary. And to the victor goes the spoils... The Contender...

The Name of the Game is 'capture the flag' if you're paying attention
What's going to happen?
There will be a sign-up period, and once all the slots are filled, the game will begin.
The teams will encounter each other, and these encounters will be roleplayed out. You will earn points for your team based on performance and your actions.
The team with the most points at the end will 'win', and to them will go the white rat. She will be given to the person with the highest point tally at the end of the game.
Some RPs will started for you, as a prompt base. Others you are free to initiate on your own in the Roleplay sections of the guild, BUT PLEASE USE THIS TAG: [EventRP] So I know which ones to check, rate, and give points to. (or even drop in on ninja )
Is that All?
No, you'll get to keep the rat you signed up for. BUT The reason there's rats being given out in the first place, is that they might die.
At any point a staff member might interject into a roleplay with an event for the rats to overcome or benefit from.
IF your rat does die, he or she will no longer be able to participate in the event at all, and you will be given a free semi-custom for your participation and troubles.
How do I sign up?
Sign ups will be in pairs, where at least one member of the team MUST be a newbie.
For the purpose of this event, a newbie is anyone who has one rat, or less. (In other words, to qualify as a newbie, you can only have one rat from this shop at all, or have none at all.)
The team is free to pick from any rat that HAS NOT been signed up for yet, but there's another catch, they must pick rats on opposing teams.
This person will be your partner in encounters, and you're encouraged to plot with them. In fact, there's big points to be gained by coming up with interesting plots and rping them out during the event.
Be it a death, or a Romeo and Juliet type love, a bitter rivalry, there's a ton of ideas you could bring to the table for this one.
POST THE FORM FOUND IN THE TEAM SECTION WITH THE RAT YOU ARE SIGNING UP FOR, AND POST IT IN THIS THREAD!
It will make my life SO much easier!
Rules?
YOU MAY NOT PLAY OR USE THE WHITE RAT That will be the staff's job until she finds a home.
At random points, she might appear, and the first one to respond to seeing her will be given points.
But at no point may you claim to see her or interact with her unless there's a staff member there playing her part.
Do not god mod, and make sure you discuss any plots with all of those involved.
Please, please do not whine or get angry. I personally hope that all of the rats survive, but death is a natural part of this shop and the threat of it adds some tension to the rp. If your rat dies, believe me I'm just as sorry as you. I work hard to color each one, and I don't want to see them die anymore than I want to see them collect dust. But that's the way life goes.
Everything else should be pretty self-explanatory.
THE GAME WILL BEGIN ONCE ALL SLOTS ARE FILLED

I AM ENTERING FOR THE CLEVER ON TEAM NEZUMI
And my partner is: Parasitic Candii And they are entering for: The Culled
I own: 2
I will name this rat: Viper
Anything additional?:
Viper was born outside of the pet store, born as a pinkie to a hoarder of rats. It was bad, the conditions were horrible, not that she knew that of course. Her eyes weren’t even open at the time. She was moved to the pet store after that and placed in the care of one of the staff there. She worked, with the other staff, to save the babies that had been handed to them far too early in life. Viper was lucky in that one of the female rats had just had a litter and didn’t reject her. Took her in and raised her as her own. The female that had helped bring her in was always watching after her, though at this time she didn’t have a name.
Her name would come later when a man would be hired on as new staff. He would be asked to clean the cages and in his ignorance he would take her and move her from her cage into that with a few young bucks. What would ensue would be chaos; she would take the eye of one of the males and tear into his face. She wouldn’t come out unharmed though, but it was surprising for such a small female to be able to hold her own against a male of that size.
The female that had taken care of her as a pup would take her again and bandage her up. Help nurse her back to health and dub her Viper. Though Viper had no idea what it meant she took great pride in the name. The term ‘fought like a viper cornered’ was something she would come to hear quite often before the great flood.
She became one who was careful and perhaps a bit full of herself. The woman would never know how fitting the name was. For as Viper grew she learned that despite her size she could defend herself but it was best to do so with words; she learned that rats were easy to manipulate if she chose her words carefully. She became one that was observing and careful, one that learned to read other rats and their little habits.
This is how she is now. A doe that can defend herself if it comes down to it but one that prefers to use words as her sword and shield. One that is about surviving, she wants to live and her survival is something she places above everyone else’s. She is a manipulator to get her way and finds it easy to slip into the fake sweet skin.
But… perhaps this mission will be a turning point in her life. Perhaps this mission will teach her a few lessons. This mission just might be the best thing that ever happened to her… maybe…

I AM ENTERING FOR THE CULLED ON TEAM WILD
And my partner is: Of The Epidemic And they are entering for: The Clever
I own: 1
I will name this rat: Kezu
Anything additional?: Kezu had been born into the world as a frail, fragile little pup that should have been too ill to live past her first night, but the fates proved themselves wrong as she continued kicking on into the next morning. The first showing that when worse came to worse, she could pull through on her own will. She had been, at one time, a sweet heart of a rat and not much of an asset to anyone, but after being cast from the colony and left to die, she lost almost every ounce of innocence she had held onto, and thrived.
She had been taught to keep the colony close, to trust and to always bring something to the table, but she had failed at all of those things in her time of being with them, and learned in time, with the constant threat of death lurking around each and every corner, that she was truly the only one she could trust and rely on. She learned almost everything there was to know on her own. There was no guide of an alpha, and she never had time to play princess in distress for a keshu. Kezu learned to make it on her own, growing stronger with each passing day, she could hold her own in a fight and could keep to the shadows to avoid one if she needed. She learned to be deductive and logical, always thinking before she acted, because one mistake could cost her her life. She knew the ins and outs of the sewer system, and got by on rations she had retrieved herself. She learned to survive without the love of a parent or a kind word to soothe the wounds, and when things got rough there was never another to turn to for assistance.
Of course, due to the lack of physical daily contact that wasn’t a scratch or a bite, Kezu grew colder and more violent than ever. Even now, after she has been accepted back into the colony, Kezu holds onto lack of trust and will not spare anyone a kind glance. She has lost the warmth in her soul, and all that remains is an icy, hollow shell of a scrapper still fighting every day like it could be her last.

I AM ENTERING FOR THE CORRUPT ON TEAM NEZUMIAnd my partner is: DarkHeartedSorrows And they are entering for: The Captain I own: This manyI will name this rat: Sathe ("Much running in fear") Anything additional?: Outwardly, Sathe is calm, polite, respectful. Does as he's told, and does it to the best of his ability. Doesn't nitpick over trivial details, but isn't opposed to guiding someone to a better decision if he feels they are mistaken. Inwardly, he looks down at everyone, and is surprised at how so many rats seem to stay alive long enough to spread their low intelligence to a new batch of meat with skin and fur. He has never killed another rat, but is that simply because he prefers not to, or because he has never had the chance to tear out someone's spine? Sathe wasn't always like this though, and any rat that knew him prior would be surprised at how he has changed. He was always kind, compassionate to others, overlooked any flaws in order to become friends, unquestionably loving to his mate and children...

I AM ENTERING FOR THE CAPTAIN ON TEAM WILD
And my partner is: Gin Rin And they are entering for: The Corrupt
I own: 3
I will name this rat: Osatak ("I don't want to run to safety")
Anything additional?: Osatak is seasoned, to say the least. He's a fighter, a survivor, and feels as if he's superior to all but one rat. Beneath that gritty, greying fur are the trophies of a true dominant male; scars that criss-cross and litter every bit of his skin. He fights because death and submission are the only other options. He will fight for his colony, he will fight for his rank, and if the time and opportunity comes he will (and has) kill.
As a leader Osatak is no-nonsense. He is critical, quick, and ruthless. But he may not always have the compassion for his team that they might need. Not to say he's never tried to be a little more understand to their needs, but it's difficult for him to comprehend that they should need anything more than to serve the colony. Really, it's just a case of stubborn old man not understanding the newer generation.
