In the small town of Atedan, nothing seems extraordinary but to the unseen eye a grand battle is going on just as it has for generations. Everyone in Atedan is born with a spirit known as a Tōshi. These spirits grow with their human as if they were ghosts and once they reach the age of 17, begin a tournament that has lasted for hundreds of years. The point of this tournement is to find the person and spirit that are the reincarnations of the very first Tōshi team.
Each fight can be declaired between any two, four, or six people. The power of the Tōshi is determined by the fighting spirit of the human host. The winner is declaired once the opponent can no longer fight.
