I will work on inviting people with EVE online as one of their interests.
I usually send mass guild invites over the weekend but last week I exceeded the limit lol.

I've tried playing EVE - done the trial a few times some years back - but I could never bring myself to start investing the time and money. Still, I maintain an interest in the game and keep up to date with news and the devblog.

To be honest, I would probably never have decided to sub to EVE if it weren't for a friend who encouraged me to try it out and offered a lot of support. I usually play more of the high fantasy sword and sorcery type of game. The learning curve in EVE is pretty darn steep, having someone to help me take it step by step really helped.
One thing I like about EVE is that it really doesn't require that much of a time investment, especially when compared to level grind MMOs. I started playing about 3 months ago. In about another month or so I'll be able to run L4's and earn enough isk to PLEX. I'll never have to shell out real life money again.
@Lazarous - What did you think of that Skyward Sphere project that CCP did recently? lol

It was amusing, but imo mostly a publicity stunt. I barely paid it any attention. I'm much more interested in what they're doing with the Dust514 connection. Again, I likely will never play it - as I don't own a PS3 - but you never know if they might port it to PC some day.
I've found that in any MMO it's all about the people you hang out with. I tried out a whole bunch of different MMOs, but the one I stuck with the longest was Maplestory. It's arguably the worst of them all, but I stuck with it for the people I'd gotten to know.
Recently I've been reading about these Inferno updates and tracking Fweddit, which is giving me an itch to finally give in and sub. Last time I played was just after Trinity.

Lazarous I've found that in any MMO it's all about the people you hang out with. I tried out a whole bunch of different MMOs, but the one I stuck with the longest was Maplestory. It's arguably the worst of them all, but I stuck with it for the people I'd gotten to know. So, so incredibly true. I've essentially ragequit decent MMOs simply because I couldn't find a good group of friends/guildies to play with. Ironically, my best memories also come from Maplestory. I think the overall cute-ness of the game helps everyone lighten up and be more willing to make friends. When you're not KSing/smega trolling, that is. --- I found Skyward Sphere to be funny. It's nice to know my character's name floated up to the stratosphere >.> although, I do wish they had done something to actually send the entire thing away from earth for good instead of floating back down afterward. I probably won't be playing Dust514, mostly because I'm absolutely terrible at shooters. It's just not my thing. The lore behind the Dust514 mercenaries is interesting, though. I am fascinated by New Eden technology. Never touched FW tbh. Most of my friends don't seem to be interested in it at all. We mostly do missions, low/nullsec PvP, and WH stuff.

I still don't understand how that's even been possible; Maplestory had one of the most restrictive chat systems I've ever seen. I think I'm too much of a carebear to go roaming in nullsec. Lowsec PvP should provide all the thrills I need - and Fweddit doesn't seem like the corp where they mind that you lose a few (dozen) boats. It's particularly tempting since Steam has that sale on EVE. That ends today, though, so perhaps I will manage to resist. Or maybe I'll give in within the next 6 hours...

I've been playing EVE for more than three years. My character is older than that though, I was unable to pay for EVE for almost 2 years. Joined during the Quantum Rise expansion, had to leave midway through the Apocrypha expansion, I had to watch the Tyrannis and Dominion expansions go by. Finally rejoined during the Incursion expansion.
I like EVE a for few reasons, like how I'm never truly safe no matter what system I'm in. I like how death makes sense in a sci-fi way. When my character dies, brain implants take a neurological picture of his memories, personality, and knowledge, then sends them to the implants in an insurance clone. The clone's brain is installed with info of my character's former self, activated, then sent on his merry way.
What I'm currently doing is engaging in factional warfare. I've chosen to fight for the Caldari State against the Gallente Federation and their allies, the Minmatar Republic. I hope to become a good fleet commander and lead hundreds of players to battle in lowsec space. I also hope to plan full scale invasions of Federation space along side Dust 514 players. I want to leave my own mark in EVE's history. Some would call that overly ambitious. Even if it is, I'm still going to try.

I love the lore behind cloning. Despite the lack of a primary storyline, EVE does an amazing job of making you feel immersed. Pretty much all the game mechanics have lore-based explanations, which is much more than can be said for many games. I also see way more people with in-character bios in EVE than I do in any other MMO.
Caldari? Bah!

I think it's a good thing that EVE was never designed with a primary storyline. Games with those never made much sense to me. Point A, Point B, beat finally boss, endgame, now what.
With EVE, all you need to know is how mankind got to New Eden, what you are, then write your own history through action.

Hállo from Iceland!
I have been in and out of the EVE universe since March 2005 (my Lilja is a few days older than my rl daughter so that makes her around 7 years 5 months old as I type).
Sadly my real life has gotten in the way of being able to pay for sub lately. I do fairly miss the good old times I had there with my friends and family, wishing sometimes I could go back but I can't afford with my current budget (I have two small people to feed here at home).
I use to also attend the EVE FFs but haven't done so since 2008.
If I can somehow get myself a PLEX I would love to be able to EVE another go!
