Rests deep in the Nevermelt Forest. The air in the cave is numbing! And the slick ice walls are cold to the touch! Hailstone City's "Ice Man" can be found in there frequently to collect NeverMeltIce to export around the world.
Ice and cave dwelling pokemon are a lot tougher, the deeper you go.

After leaving the Hotel, a refreshed and now confused Iris walked around in the burrows. To others, it would be a strange place to be taking a walk and thinking but she needed the quiet and she has just wandered here. Now that Vern was in good hands, last night as came back to her fully force. She had been on a date with Antonio and had kissed him when she ran off to be with Vern. But what made things worse was that she had though about Marco the whole time. Ever since she had came here, her mind had wandered to Marco. She was sure the only reason she slept last night was because she was so distraught that her mind was too stressed out to dream otherwise she probably would had.
"Why is he on my mind so much?" She asked herself. "And that text message: why did I write 'love' at first. I mean it could had been just a slip."
She sighed to herself. "But I do wonder what he's doing... I miss him. But I bet I'm the last person he's thinking about when he has Niara with him."
She started rubbing at her eyes. "Why are they leaking? I need a tissue."
She went digging into her bag when her gloved hands pulled up an oval stone instead of her bag of tissues. It was the one the Happiny had before she gave Marco the one that she found during the dig. She sniffled a little before she thought about that day:
It was a couple of weeks after Vern's party and before the winter trip. Iris had stayed over a Marco's again. She was accustomed to staying over and it wasn't like Marco complained.
Happiny had been given her new stone already so the old one was in Iris' hand now as she sat on his bed. She looked over the cracks that were visible in spite of all that was done to fix it. Iris looked at Marco.
"Say Marco, can I have this oval stone?" She asked.
Marco had looked at her weird before he chuckled and nodded. He then asked her why she wanted it, knowing that it wouldn't be able to be use to evolve a Pokemon. Iris had just smiled as she held it close to her before she responded.
"It's a reminder of the one of the best days of my life: The day I got to tell you how much I care about you and you told me the same. I don't wanna forget that day ever. It makes me smile just thinking about it...."
Iris leaned on the cold wall, but the cold not bothering her at the moment. It was that day, the simple broken oval stone became a treasured item of hers. She starting to piece something together. Something she was slowly understanding that started from their first meeting and everything else. Why him being with Niara bugged her, why she always thought about him. Why when she did, it made her happy. Why being with him made her happy and willing to disobey her cousin.
She slid on the ground in a sudden epiphany. "I love him..." Every scene ran through her head. Their meetings, their arguments, their confessions, times spent together, time apart, even word spoke between them. Moments taking care of each other. How could she not see it until now...
"Now what am I going to do?" She said to herself, "How do I tell him? How can I tell him? I mean... I should be able to tell but why is it scaring me to tell him... I need to see him... I'm so confused..."
Choo! Iris turned in shock before she breathed again. She looking at a cubchoo, looking at her with its shiny eyes. Iris giggled as she looked at the white cub Pokemon. It looked young to Iris but it was definitely a cute Pokemon.
"Hey there little one." She rubbed him head. She looked down to see the Cubchoo holding a NeverMeltIce. This place and the forest around it was definitely known for such items. But its eyes turned from her to the stone in her hands. It's eyes glistened as it dropped the ice and reached for it and her.
Iris moved the stone out of his view as she sat on her knees. She patted its head. "Sorry, this stone is too important to be played with."
The cubchoo looked at Iris, it's eyes watered before it started to cry. The cry echoed through the burrows. The response was a loud growl. Iris bit her lip and looked at the crying Pokemon. She tried to calm it down.. "Come on.." She started to rummage through her bag. There has to something in here that will calm you down."
She looked through things, she felt breath on her back and she stopped. She gulped as she slowly turned around. She was looking at white fur. She gulped again as she look up three more feet to see a Beartic's face. "I guess you're that little one's parent right. So their healthy and happy. No problem right?"
She turned around and looked wide eyed as she watched the cub pull out one of her Dusk Balls. It's curiosity worked in Iris' misfortune as the ball was enlarged and in its amusement bit on the ball. The cubchoo was taken into the Duskball. She paled as the ball shook and shook until it clicked closed and vanished. She had a full team already and the ball was sent to her PC.
She gulped as she gathered her bag. She chuckled a little until the Beatric roared at Iris' back. The sound echoed louder than its baby's cry. It got lower growling behind Iris.
"Oh Arceus..."

"Che, che, che..."
Iris had really done herself in on this one. It would be her luck that when she could a pokemon it would be a baby whilst his mother was there to watch him vanish. And for that mother to have a short temper. "I said I was sorry.." Iris turned around to see the Beartic still chasing her. Iris had dodged her head in time to avoid a slash but he hair wasn't as lucky as chunks of strands fell to the ground.
"My Hair..." she said mourning the loss as the chunks littered around her. Unfortunately the memorial was short as Beatric slammed her paw down in another attempt of slash. This time she jumped back to got hit in her arm. It only caught her coat so no injuries... Iris looked behind her as she continued to run for an exit. She panted as she looked for the tunnel that she went through when she came in. But with all the running and trying to get away from the angered mother, she couldn't find her way.
She could hear the usrine pokemon going down to ran on her four legs and take a deep breath. Suddenly felt pain in her leg as something went past her and then again and again. She went to the ground, seeing icicles, whole and shattered on some of the wall spaces by her. "That was an Icicle Crash." she said. "Wow...." In her distraction, the Beartic attacked her again with a slash. The sam leg that took the hit from the previous was scratched on her inner thigh as she growled in Iris' face. Iris looked up as Beartic stood to attack again.
Iris! Blaze came out his duskball, using Clear Smog before using Fire Spin to disorientate the bear. "Thank you Blaze... Let's go out of here..."
Iris stood up but didn't get far. Now she could see that she was bleeding from her leg. "It's always something wrong with my leg." she groaned. "If I can just remember the way I can..."
An Icy Wind came their way. But it was met with another Icy Wind. "Koori?"
The Kyurem stood taller than Iris, now at six feet. Koori launched a Ancient Power at the Beartic hitting directly. "Blaze use your Flame Burst, Koori Ancient Power again.."
Blaze unleashed the orb that burst into smaller one as Koori unleashed as sliver orb from her body, the orb combined with some of the Blaze's attack. The Beartic dogded at the last moment but still getting him. The retaliation was an Ice Punch that hit Blaze in the face. The Magby flew into Iris' arms as she caught him. Magby growled at the Beartic as he walked from Iris' arms.
"Wait Blaze..." Iris started to say but paused as Magby became to glow growing in size as the light engulfed him. "Blaze?"
Magmar Blaze stood up as a Magmar. Suddenly explosions surrounded him with fire and smoke firing towards Beartic. Finally the Ice Pokemon was scared off as she ran off. Blaze looked back at Iris. Iris smiled in returned.
"That's my Blaze.. Thank you now return..." Iris returned Blaze to his ball before turning to Koori. "Hey Koori, can you help me out of here..."
She climbed onto Koori's back as Koori walked the lenght of the tunnel, sniffing her way out. It was some time later when Iris and Koori were outside finally. She sighed with relief as she tried to stand on own. She leaned on Koori who looked at her with concern. "I'm okay, thank you Koori. I'm going to have to let you out and play sometime soon. I promise. Now returned."
Koori was back into her ball when Iris called out her other pokemon. "Zoey..." she said. "I need to get to the pokemon center, can you take me...there.." she said, feeling the cold on on her bleeding leg and arm."
Zoey looked at the situation and transformed into a Charizard. Something warm and that could fly. Zoey picked up Iris into her arm and with the flap of her wing flew in the direction of the center.
"Looks like Vern is going to have a roommate..." Iris said to herself.
