Sometimes he is seen as weak and unsure of the path he has chosen for himself. He carries around a deep regret within over leaving his wife behind. He is a dedicated workoholic which means he always finishes the tasks given to him even if it hard work or takes a long time.Background: Andriel came to be a chocobo rider after his dragonkin clan was killed by humans during a night raid. His clan was mistaken for another that had been attacking and terrorizing humans in the area he was born in. In a blind fit of rage Andriel went after the bandit clan and challenged their leader to a fight to the death. If he won their clan would have to leave the human villages unharmed from now on. It was a long and hard fight for the young dragon Andriel. Only 14 at the time, and yet he still managed to find the strength to overcome his opponent. Andriel became the new leader of the bandit clan and his first order of business was to rebuild all the damage that clan had done as humans without using any magic at all. It was their punishment as well as a lesson to teach them to help people instead of hurting them.
At the age of 18 Andriel left the clan who had become mercenaries to do anything and everything the surrounding villagers needed help with. Andriel came to live a quiet life for about a year in the coastal bay area. One day while he was walking on the beach he met a young woman name Cassandra who had been shipwrecked and castaway. Most of her memories were lost due to trauma, but Andriel promised he would find a way to help her. Andriel began studying healing magic. As time went on Cassandra's memories had not returned, but she often said she didn't care because she was happy.
When Andriel turned 24 he and Cassandra married and promised to have a long and happy life together. It was not to be unfortunately. Andriel was up late still trying to find a cure for his wife's amnesia when his true form when out of control. Andriel feared what Cassandra might think if she found out he was a dragon so he remained in human form while around her. "You are not like them. Why do pretend to be for that girl? She will grow old and die before you do." A voice came in Andriel's mind as his vision began to black out. He felt his way to the door and went outside into the backyard. He managed only a few steps before he became tangled in the clotheslines which still had the days laundry hanging on them. Andriel struggled to get free as panic and fear rose inside him.
Cassandra heard a commotion outside and when she reached Andriel his true instincts had taken over completely. He transformed fully into a white dragon and shot out small ice shards from his wings to free himself of the wires. He realized a moment too late what had happened as he looked toward Cassandra. Her face was overcome by fear as she saw the dragon standing before her. Andriel couldn't transform back human since he used up a lot of strength to transform and free himself. He had no way of telling her who he really was either.
"I'm sorry, but I can't stay here anymore. I don't want you forsaken because your hiding a dragon. Forgive me." Andriel thought to himself as he spread his wings and took to the sky. Casandra probably thought her husband was eaten by the retreating dragon, and maybe she would seek revenge. Andriel hoped he could tell her the truth someday when the war was over. Andriel flew as far as his wings could take him and just as he started to feel his strength fading, he came upon a chocobo ranch. Andriel collapsed shortly after landing outside the chocobo's holding pen. It was three days before Andriel come too and when he did he was surprised to the the chocobo ranch manager had taken care of him.
"I see you are awake. Now that your feeling better I suggest you head back to where your supposed to be son. I'm sure everyone is worried about you." The ranch manager said. Andriel sat up and swung his legs over the edge of the bed before he said "I can't go back... I don't have any money, but do you need any help around here? I'm sure there is something I can do to replay your kindness." The ranch manager ran his hand through his beard as he thought to himself. "You can help me feed the chocobos if you want. Come on I'll introduce you to them. By the way what is your name?" The rancher said smiling. "I'm Andriel Alexander and I'd be glad to help." Andriel followed the rancher outside and after caring for the chocobos he felt a connection with them and decided to become a rider. He hoped to raise his own chocobo someday.Other: Andriel always fears what others will think of him when they find out his true form is a dragon, so he makes sure to remain in his human form when around people and chocobos (since it would be bad if he scared either).
