Kurai stood alone in the building. The strange creatures weren't following her now, but they were out there, somewhere near. She could feel it. The only way she could get away from them was by running into an abandoned building; they hadn't followed her in, meaning they did not see her entering. Or they did know, and were waiting for her to drop her guard in order to make a move. She cursed under her breath as she moved to a window to peer out.
The building was more of a warehouse, and hadn't been used in a few years. Some of the equipment was still left behind, everything still in place as if the workers were only stepping out to take a five minute break. The window Kurai stood in front of was dusty as well, so she pulled her sleeve down and wiped a small circle, giving her a glimpse of the outside. Nothing was moving, except for the trees as the wind blew. But she did see several pairs of eyes shining back at her.
Kurai drew her breath sharply as she stared at the glowing eyes, taking several steps back. She fell to the ground and hugged herself, attempting to stop her uncontrollable shaking. What was going on? She had only stopped at a gas station at the outskirts of the town to fill up her tank. The next thing she knew, she walked in on the (possible) owner being eaten by strange creatures. If she hadn't turned and ran.... She didn't want to complete her thought. She had lost her keys in the process, so rather than getting into her car and leaving, she had to run into the town, Small Valley. She didn't see anybody while she ran, and it was a good 20 minutes before she had reached to where she was now. Where were the townspeople? Were there any people around, or was she the only one?
