Common pokemon only need maybe two or three paragraphs, but they should still be of good quality. These are pokemon like Pidgey, Caterpie, Zigzagoon.

Uncommon pokemon need a little more detail and something bordering on a story for their capture. These are slightly more difficult to encounter pokemon, but still seen relatively often. Nidoran, Marill, Skitty, etc.

Rare pokemon require the equivalent of a page or so in Word to capture, and should have some sort of interesting story that engages the reader, not just 'I saw a Skarmory and I caught it in the face and it was awesome' dragged on for 500 words. Examples include: Gastly, Magnemite, Murkrow, Wobbuffet, Carvanha, Aron and Chatot...

Super Rare pokemon require some skill to scope out and take down: these pokemon are hard to find for a reason, they don't want to be caught by just anyone. The excitement of the encounter should be portrayed, as well as some sort of an engaging story, again. We don't really like to see 'she saw it, she caught it, ping, yay!' because we've seen it sooo many times before! Examples of these include: starters, first stagers, Porygon, Ditto. Shiny Common, Uncommon or Rare pokemon.

Ultra Rare pokemon need even more skill. If you're attempting to capture one of these pokemon, you should have a post that knocks out us. If you battle for it then it should be interesting and exciting and drawn out; if you try to befriend or trick it or something else (we like to see things like that) then it should seem plausible and be long enough. Remember that it's perfectly okay for the mods to deny you a shiny Bagon purely for the reason that they didn't think it was likely that they'd agree to come with you after simply giving him some food. Examples: basic stage pseudo-legendaries. Beldum, Bagon, Dratini, and so on. This also includes the rare and super popular pokémon, as they have been unable to breed so well in the wild with trainers taking all of them. These are Eevee, Riolu and Zoura. Also includes splices and odd-coloured Super and Ultra rare pokemon.
