There is a nice Japanese restaurant in downtown St. John's. Me and a few buddies go down there every two weeks. I try and have a different meal everytime I go down. They give free miso and green tea with every meal. So far I've had sushi, unagi (eel), takoyaki (braised octopus balls[get your mind outta the gutter evil ]), yaki chicken udon (a noodle dish), ton katsu (breaded chicken), age gyoza (like egg rolls), shrimp & veggie tempura, and calamari yaki (squid). I think the next time I go down I'll try the zaru soba (chilled buckwheat noodles with dipping sauce). And of course I have my bottle of sake in the fridge. xp Anyone else ever have Japanese food? What's your fave dish? So far mine's a toss-up between the yaki chicken udon and the unagi. Share your experiences with Japanese cuisine here.

I personally love Japanese food. And lucky for me at my local grocery store there's a sushi bar that sells fresh sushi 'round the clock, so of course I love sushi and anything with wasabi! I really enjoy miso soup with LOTS of Sea weed. Green tea is pretty good but it's much better with Jasmine. Omg I just REALLY love food!

They sell sushi lunches at the university now. lol I can't wait to go back to uni and have a sushi lunch between classes. It'll be awesome.

LUCKY! at my school the most asian thing they have is egg rolls crying but considering the majority of people where I live are REALLY hispanic, an egg roll at a public school is a very big stretch culturally.

Oh man that's brutal. But I don't think there is a high school in this province that serves sushi (though I may be wrong) so don't feel too bad.

I would love to try it, but unfortunately, we don't have any Japanese restaurants in the area. Some restaurants serve sushi, but only at cocktail hours, and I'm not that old. We have a TON of good Chinese and Thai restaurants though. I love Chinese food, and I only recently tried some Thai-style dumplings.

Mmm....spicy peanutty sauce.......
