The graveyard is the resting place of many, but in the hands of the wicked, it is their army, simply resting and waiting for their chance to come back and fight their enemies. As more people are slain, the graveyard grows larger and as a result, more bodies are laid down to rot giving people with powers to bring back the dead more options when it comes to battling.
