Goodness knows we have about a billion of them so far.
I personally don't fully buy his little "my parents were killed by a firebender" thing.

I really just want to watch the story go on. I don't really want to hear about all this continuous ramble about theories.

Same here. I'm hoping it'll be something unexpected that nobody guessed yet, but still not just some random guy who has no connection to A:TLA. I'm hoping he'll be a descendant of one of the original characters, but not an obvious one.... We'll see xp

Spoilers from Episode 4:
wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance wahmbulance Ok, here’s my theory now. That guy that Tarrlok said Aang fought 42 years ago? Yakone, or however it’s spelled? Amon probably has a connection to HIM. Not Sokka, or Tarrlok or whatever. No. ******** that. I’m calling it now: Connection to Yakone. Tenzin would have been 9, he would remember that incident. The flashback about him looked super serious at that, and Tenzin appears to know SOMETHING about Amon that he isn’t telling us. And hey, if Yakone is like, Amon’s father, and Aang had to “Deal with him”, maybe AANG is the “Firebender” that “Stole” Amon’s family and face in some way.
