The Danger Room consists of two parts, the Danger Room itself, and the Control Room which is housed above the Danger Room. To the untrained eye, the Danger Room is a featureless room. To those who are (un)fortunate enough to engage its systems, it is the ultimate battle simulator. It employs highly advanced technologies from sources such as Forge and Beast.

The Danger Room sets its opponents against an array of physical and holographic opponents that tests a trainees' mastery over their mutant powers to peak endurance.

Using the advanced technologies, the Danger Room can give the illusion of being many times bigger than it actually is. Anything from gravity, heat, humidity, or texture can be manipulated from the control booth.

Students are not permitted to be in the Danger Room unless accompanied by an instructor or X-Man.

With a large cloud of indigo smoke, Kurt appeared in the danger room. He looked around the empty training area, viewing it from the control room. He wanted to get started right away on the adventure he had promised Adriana, but teaching responsibilities came first, not to mention he needed to do some research for the former goal beforehand anyway.

So the elf began programming a scenario for tomorrow's class. His responsibilities were to give the students believable, yet safe situations that they could train in, preferably ones that would not traumatize them. Kurt grinned to himself. In their line of work, anything was believable... including a trip to outer space. And that most certainly would not be something that would traumatize the students. It could also give them a chance to learn control and combat inside a new, zero-gravity terrain. He could just throw in some simple space battles and... this would be fun.
