Pokédex 3D for the Nintendo 3DS is getting an update soon. Nintendo president, Satoru Iwata, just announced the app for release on July 14th. sauceNow I can finally have a national dex!

Is it adding a lot else? I read that its just updating for B/W 2, so how many more Pokemon is that really? Plus its expensive!! Its going to be like around $25 total for the app and the shooting game that can add Pokemon to your pokedex! (They're 1500 and 300 yen.) I hope they keep the price lower than the yen to USD conversion says it will be.
Anyway, I am glad to finally have some kind of update to the Pokedex. I wonder if the mechanics for finding them will be the same, and if they'll add anything to it to make it more worth the price.
Yeah, I'll be buying it like every other sucker though. The shooting game I'm not so sure about though.
Also, if you never got the free version for some reason, your time to do so may be dwindling. Japan is removing the old version.

There is a picture of Pikachu in the screens, and I was hoping the AR game would be more of a Battle Revolution sequel.

I think the price might be exaggerated a bit by simply converting Yen to Dollars, but I think it is still going to be too expensive if all it does is add new pokemon. Nothing on the E-Shop (correct me if I'm wrong here) is more then $12. If you don't count Shantae: Risky's Revenge, they don't go higher then $10. I doubt they'll go higher then that for a Pokedex App.

I think with the price point, the AR game is going to be a very simple game, and being called Pokemon AR Searcher it doesn't sound like that kind of game. So probably not. But hey we can hope.

If its all of them, then I'm totally in and I can more see the higher price tag- that IS a LOT of pokemon. I wonder how much space that will take. I honestly have several favorites from every generation, so I look forward to getting them whee Argh waiting is hard!

 The price tag is a bit much for just a Pokédex. I would definitely pick this up if it were cheaper. I'd be willing to pay maybe $6 for it. But I very much doubt that the price difference will be that great when it is released.
Unless it's another sneaky price tactic. Tell everyone the price will be really high, but then it is released and the price is much lower than originally stated. People will feel like it is very affordable. Especially compared to what it was supposed to be priced at.
I have a feeling Nintendo did something similar with the early price drop that Target and Walmart offered. I don't doubt that Nintendo played a part in that. Think of all the people who were on the fence about getting a system so early. Sure the price drop made the system more appealing, but the price will still be just as low later down the road. BUT. Later down the road they wont be able to grab the Ambassador Program benefits as well as the lowered price.
That's exactly what I did. I had wanted a 3DS, but the only reason I picked one up so soon was that I wanted the Ambassador games AND the low price.

Not sure if everyone knows this yet, but in addition to the pokedex being updated for B/W2, the game itself will also give users the new formes of the three legendary....genies? I dunno. (Landorus, Tornadus, and Thundurus.)
You obtain them in the new AR game it comes with.
And they're pretty spiffy. Lol.
So finally, us 3DS users finally get a nice perk with our pokemon games.
