okay, so the forehead thing was an easy target, but blowing s**t up with your MIND!? how can anyone NOT want that!?
It wasn't with his mind, well, I suppose it was in one way... but he was taught to concentrate all his fire bending power on his third eye chakra.. And concentrating power into a chakra means he was on par with an Avatar in some ways... Usually only the most spiritual people can unlock chakras, and that means Combustion Man was actually very spiritual. That probably also explains why he was so powerful too...
I believe Iroh knew how to use his throat chakra, hence the fire breathing. He probably taught that to Zuko.
I do not think I have ever seen anyone else breath fire... did Azula? Ozai?
