First beta weekend coming up on the 27th of April 2012! Here are some details: Quote: Public Beta Event Details:To get an access to the weekend beta event, you will need a beta key which can be obtained by pre-purchasing any Guild Wars 2 game, i.e. standard/digital, deluxe edition Users who have already pre-purchased the game will get an email(next week) that includes the instructions on how to download the game client. Being a public beta event, you are now free to shout to the world about your character, take screenshots, write a blog about it, share your experience, etc. It will not comply anymore with the so called NDA or Non-Disclosure Agreement that was first bounded in the private beta events. Got any video or picture footage of GW2 of your own? Feel free to post links here and give us a glimpse of your own Guild Wars 2 experience! Remember to add additional information, such as what race and profession you've played, what you've done and if you have added commentary or music. 3nodding

I've prepurchased as well, but sure, new video is never a bad thing. I prefer commentary with videos, but in saying that, I'm very picky when it comes to the commentary I listen to, so I'll leave that up to you. As for what race/class, you should play what you want to play ^^.

Eltiana I've prepurchased as well, but sure, new video is never a bad thing. I prefer commentary with videos, but in saying that, I'm very picky when it comes to the commentary I listen to, so I'll leave that up to you. As for what race/class, you should play what you want to play ^^. I've been thinking of recording first and then doing a voice recording later so that I can always redo it, or even just upload videos without commentary as well that people can watch. My biggest concern is that I might sound boring, but I've been so excited that my friend says I will probably sound like a hyperactive chipmunk. xD

Would it be actually ok for us to even post beta footage? I mean.. I am pretty sure they'll have us sign an NDA in order to participate in the beta. They even have something about it in their fact. :3
maybe instead of a personal footage thread; maybe people post here for who's been invited for which beta weekend events; so those who are all participating can arrange to meet up and play together?

It's a good point. Thing is that NDA was lifted for the previous beta tester (with exception of the cash shop), so I think it would be a bit odd if we did get a NDA. Plus with so many pre-purchasers, there's a good chance the next beta testers may not be able to keep it quiet. However if you are right (and I don't want anyone to end up losing their accounts) I will make this a beta weekend discussion thread, where we can describe our feelings and arrange meet ups as you suggested. 3nodding

yeah. i only pointed it out because i saw it on their QnA with questions about the beta/pre ordering. i'm really hoping they give me enough advance notice for BWE's. I often work on weekends a lot. lol

So they added a countdown to the beta start on guildwars2.com. Currently a little under 3 days and 3 hours to go. It's also possible to log in on https://account.guildwars2.com/ though it doesn't appear possible to download the client yet and the forums are.... not really in a usable state. I'm a bit peeved I have to use my old e-mail to sign on, since it's one I've been trying hard to discontinue for the past half decade.
