It was a particularly bad day for Roland. He was still used to being spoiled. He rarely had to do much of anything for himself. Even with the newest addition to his family, he has had a fairly charm life. She wasn't kind to him, but she wasn't exactly cruel either. She couldn't afford to be. Roland and his father were quite close, but Roland was never comfortable critiquing his father's new choice.
Today, she had him go into town to meet with some of his father's business associates. The meetings were dreadfully dull and long. When he was finally aloud to return to his home, he was exhausted. He trudged through the streets in the dark. He'd never been a fearful person. He usually had 2 or 3 other people with him. The witch had sent him alone this time, claiming he should be old enough to be out on his own.
He didn't make it home. In a flash of red fur and teeth, the kage took him apart before he really new what was going on. It wasn't until a few months after he woke up as a
kage himself that he realized it was no freak accident.
The rage he felt consumed him. Until Jinks.
