There is a sequel to Final Fantasy 8 that was never released, its called FF8:Gaiden or something like that. Any one have any more info, and/or should it be released? What I do know about it is that the story line focused on Seifer, but thats all I could find.

I have never heard of it. Did a search and 2nd item I found was a Fanfic called Final Fantasy VIII Gaiden. Might have spawned from there. Or someone could of just started it in some forum, or offline. SquareEnix(Square Soft, Square), doesn't really seem to be fond of making the game titles that have subtitles to them, cept I suppose the old ones. Meh I dunno, could be true, but then, based on what I saw, wouldn't this be a prequel?

IMO i don't think they made a sequel. I tried searching somewhere and i read that they just do that stuff as a joke for april fools.

It would be cool if it was true though, I think the story would benefit from a sequel.

The descrition of the video already tells me what that is. From what I heard before, when I first saw that video. It was either part of the first game, hence the graphics and the gameplay of the battle. Or was an April Fool's Joke some magazine or something did. It wasn't so much a fight but just showing some of the attacks your party couldn't actually cast. I remember it being called Final Fantasy VIII Gaiden, I think, but it wasn't a sequel. Sides, the gameplay and graphics are exactly the same, Square is not known for those tactics used in their games.

Well, we can always shift this into a should there be a sequel and what it should be about thread....
The game was open for one and left (me at least) many questions unanswered like FF games often do. (how did Vivi have that many kids?! for example)

^ I was thinking the same thing, but sequels don't necessarily have to answer questions. An FFVII sequel would probably expand the world/history/character relationships.

I guess...but it still would be pretty unnescessary. I would still want it, but i'm afraid the sequel might turn out not too great, probably since x2 wasn't the kind of sequel i was expecting.

I know, it's just an example of how FF games have these wierd unanswered questions. For an VIII example I guess would be what's up with that ending? I know it's a tad obvious who she might be facing in the end, but we're not sure....

Sequals are usually a letdown anyway.
