The crowds began to line up along the set rout for the the five kilometer race, chatter held as the competitors lined up on their water sleds. The chetter of the spectators grew as more and more came, watching the competitors set up and line in. "Good morning folks on this beautiful day before September sets in, and welcome to the annual Guardian's Day Water Race! It looks like the good weather and festivities has brought out the best in today's amazing line up of twentyfive trainers and their pokemon! These games test the bonds and abilities of water trainers, and the Race is a particular favorite of our lookie-lou's along the rout. Remember there are eight bends in the water ways, and we've just received word that all the boats have cleared out for the event to make way for these wave riding trainers! For those of you just joining the games, the five kilometer race is divided into two halves. One weaving through the city water ways, and the other out to sea to circle the buoy and reach the finish on the beach. The pokemon seem eager and ready for the word GO! Let's see how they stand to last against last year's campion, Huey Monte. Joining in is a local favorite, Burnie Rich, and some hardy students of our region's pokemon academy! Let's see if the kids have what it takes! The starter gun fired off it's blank, signaling the go for the trainers taking off in a flash, leaving waves to knock off the competition.

  Gavin had waited all morning for the race to start, being one of the first one there to set up. He couldn't help it! He loved pokemon! But more important was that, if he won, he'd look cool for all the girls. The very thought of zooming down and seeing all the girls in their swimsuits, bikinis or not, was better than having a vulpix for girls to come over and pet! "You ready mudkip?" He called. The gun fire startling his pokemon into a furious swim. "Yea! Go for it!" He laughed. Almost like he'd imagined it. He couldn't participate last year, not having a water type pokemon; but this year was a whole new kind of beast! Just his trunks from yesterday on him, he tried to stay light to help mudkip swim faster."Come on Hael!" Lili called, wearing a petite suit. She'd been able to place second last year when Cupid was just a dratini. Imagine with a dewgong! She had to win! "First place cutie! Spot light!" 'There is no way I'm losing to those jerks! I'll win it for sure, just so they won't. Move aside Gavy-boy!' Talk about a grudge. She was still upset about yesterday, and hadn't spoken a word to any of them when they came back that night. Instead, she just fixated on Angel's fur and Hael's skin; giving herself the excuse that she had to be ready for the contest in this town. 'Cross, you're mine!' Her face wrinkled as she waned to speed by.

Azrael was going over the last minuted preparations before the race had started. He was making sure that the harness wasn't on Nagi too much or else wouldn't even race for him. Wearing his shirt unbuttoned, Swimsuit, Shoes, and Glasses he was more than ready to win this race. He had complete fate that Nagi had to the agility, dexerity and control to win the race. All he had to make sure that he was concentrated enough to not slow down the Milotic. He around seeing all the students that come to race. He was going to have a problem keeping his eyes to himself as everyone, including him, was baring it all in swimtrunks and swimsuits. Nagi rolled his eyes and sped off as the gun sounded to start the race. "Woah!!" Azrael was lucky to be holding onto the bar attached to the harness or else this race would had ended before it started for him. "Not cool, Nagi..." he said as he swayed side to side, trying to gain a lead. "Let's win this race before I decide to get mad..." Nagi smirked as he made his way to front of the pack. ▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Nagi  ɪ wasn't sure but I know now I believe

In preparation of the race, Iris changed her clothes slightly as she wore her bikini top, the bottom with the skirt piece moves and her short half zipped. Looking at the race's landscape, Iris decided on using Itachi instead of Nero. Due to the fear of getting hurt, Iris kept her pokemon in the stands with her stuff. She looked at Itachi who was prep for the race. "Let's win this okay? For Nero, Rai, Ra, and Mau."
Itachi gave Iris a thumbs before looking at the stands for Mau. Mau saw Itachi looking at her. She waved and give a wink for good luck. Itachi grinned, scratching the back of his head.
"Hey, Itachi," Iris leaned in closer, "I bet if you win you can really impress Mau that way..."
Itachi's face went red before he look repped up and ready to go. The harness secured and ready as he readied his tail. The gun sounded and the race had begun. Once Itachi's tail hit the water, he was off with the others racing.
"Let's go Itachi, you got it." Iris cheered on her pokemon as they sped pass people and their pokemon, making sure to stay away from the sides of the path to avoid slowing down from scrapping.

 Lavender stood on the sidelines, happy to watch with her allergies at bay with the salty, clean air. It didn't matter to her who won, she was there to support everyone! "Go Lili!" She called out first. "Gavin, Lydia! Do your best! Go for it Iris! Good luck Miss Cross! Mister Azrael, go go!" She called out the names of as many people as she could remember, each one individually as they passed by her. And her grass cheer squad out with her. It was amazing; that in such dark times, people could still find joy and happiness in so many ways. That was something she loved. And more to the point, it helped her forget everything else except the here and now. And as everyone sped off, she leaned as far as she could over the railing to keep an eye out."Lavender!" Annie called. "Hey, let's move further down and try and catch them down there before it's over," She suggested, in her own swim suit and; her waist line wrapped by her long blue sarong with Ray on her shoulder, Lucy and Linda on either side of her roaring up in a purring tone filled with excitement. "Come on, if we hurry, we can probably see the whole ocean half of the race," She chuckled. She hadn't had the time or room to submit her own name for the race, but it was well enough to see so many people so happy to be in the race. "Come on Azrael! You can beat 'em! Mia! You're not gonna lose to the kids, are you? Pick up the pace you two!" She called down as she hurried to the other end of the race rout, with Lavender close behind.

Maria Taylor  Location: ~ Water Run Path ~Maria rushed off to the event eger to get on with the event. Getting there she finally was able to get some use in with her suit. She didn't know who she was going to use in the event but she figured Seel would be a good idea for the close turns and narrow spaces. "Come on Seel let's give it everything we've got." she told him as he happy clapped. Maria saw that Lydia and her sister Mia where in the event as well as Iris, Professor Azrael... and Lili... She was using her Dewgong for this race and Maria was using Seel. 'Can we even win against Dewgong...' Maria thought looking at Hael. Looking at Seel she knew he would do his best and she would have to do the same. Shaking the thought away from Lili and her Dewgong Maria got back to what was important having fun. As the gun fired Seel speed off down the course planning on doing nothing less then perfect. Team: Seel (M) - Lv. 20  Mantine (M) - Lv. 5  Mystery Egg: ???

☾ Vince ☽ ----  ----  ----  ----  ----  ---- There is never certainty...  Vince was almost late to the race. That's what he got for sleeping in too long. He ran all the way from Jirachi in. He bolted through crowds and the stands selling snacks for the audiences. He finally made it. He let out Golduck and practically doubled over from exhaustion. "We... We made it," he said through gulps of air. "Come on let's--" The gun fire rang through his air. Crap! It already started! He didn't have time to change into his swimming shorts. He'd have to get over the fact that his clothes were going to get wet. He jumped ov er into the sled and Golduck quickly took his place. They already had a bad start. "Golduck, go!" Vince shouted as he grabbed the tether. Golduck shot off like lightning under the water. The sled shot through the water. Luckily Golduck was one of the fastest swimming water Pokemon.

Azrael looked around as more people had joined the race. Suddenly his easy win wasn't going to be so easy after all... But then again, where's the fun a race if there isn't a challenge to be faced? Azrael knew this question all too way....
"My dear friend..." Azrael said as he lowered his body to make him less wind resistance and gain more speed. "I fear that we have a challenge on our hands here."
Nagi took a side glance to his sides. But quickly so he could focus back on the race. He replied back in a way that said 'Tell me something I don't know already Azrael?'
"And many of the are students...." Azrael continued, "How about we show these young ones with a really water pokemon can do with grace, beauty and drive... I believe the word is 'Mush'..."
Despite the hearing Mush come from the man, he agreed with Azrael. The Milotic, picked up the pace, keeping a steady from the others though not in first....yet...
Azrael tried to maintain a straight line... If he could avoid any of the objects that floated by, it would mean less time to recover from it and more time spent of the race. From the stands he could hear cheering from some of the members of the Academy. One being the Lovely Annie...
If I win, maybe I can get a kiss from her as a prize.... He thought to himself. "Alright Nagi... ready to win this?"

Iris had to admit that this was slightly like surfing... Riding the waves, finding the speed for the right tricks. Slightly because surfing didn't involve the potential death smashing into a building or a bridge or a boat or even a stray pokemon. Against rocks or drowning, yea surfing had that but at the moment all Iris' focus was on surviving the the turns and side to side maneuvering as Itachi race, trying to get close that first place spot... For Iris but mostly to improve Mau.
"Itachi easy there..." she looked down at the Buizel before looking up and seeing a stray box following her way. "Oh Acrues... Itachi go right quick!"
The suddenly shift to the right allowed Iris to move to the left, avoiding the box completely. But the wave that followed his shift gave Iris enough air to hop onto the edge of the track and grind on the side like a skateboard before hitting the water again. From the stunt she managed to pull of someone as they dodge getting him by her.
"Sorry!!" she yelled to them, facing them for just a quick sec before returning her eyes to the race in front of her. "Itachi don't overextend yourself. There's still the turn around point and I need you for the other half of the race. While the others are tried from overdoing, we can pull into the front and win this.."
Itachi nodded his head as eased up on the strength of his tail. Decreasing his speed slightly, he was conserving energy for the last of the sprint to the finish line.
"Good boy Itachi." Iris said, able to navigate better her half of the race. Not to mention, she could make the turns much better than before. Without making this into a skateboard competition as well.

 ¸.• ` •.¸¸.✿Ɍena Ίrie✿  Rena strolled along the paths that hugged the water ways. She watched the students along the race. it looked like so much fun, but she didn't want to enter. Her Floatzel followed her, aching to join in. "Don't worry, dear. We'll have plenty of time to swim while we are here." She smiled at her water Pokemon. "Oh hey," She shouted as she noticed Lavender and Annie. Did they come to watch the race as well? Her and Floatzel then turned in there direction and met up with them. "Hi, Lavender, dear. Hi Miss Annie. Enjoying the races, are we?" She giggled. Her Foatzel instinctively met their Pokemon. Floatzel was always an outgoing Pokemon.
