Dante was having a nice little slumber in the caverns. There was some gryphon bones scattered about the area that he had previously killed. Not much seemed to phase him and he lived by the survival of the fittest code making sure he staid alive. Although causing a little grief to others wasn't so bad now was it? He tended to keep in the shadows though and sneak around when it came to causing problems.

Alexandra padded silently through the tall crystals she spent most of her time near. Bathed in their violet light she knew it was easy to for the others to spot her but she didn't care. She could hold her own with most and the others, well, they had better things to do than go after her. She was fairly well known by those closer to the entrance to the caverns, she seemed to know when food was wandering in. Sometimes she even helped them along, working them deeper into the cavern where they were doomed to never see the light again. But on this day she wandered deeper into the abyss.

Dante opened his eyes up. He could tell there was something closer. It definitely wasn't a regular gryphon so the idea of having a second lunch was out. He hoped it wasn't another demon trying to challenge him. He looked over at the gryphon eggs he had stolen as food supply for himself. Dante growled a bit thinking of how much of a struggle both the parents gave him. Their bones were stored neatly right next to them. They shouldn't of even tried making their homes in this deep.
He stretched himself out before getting up and going to check what was coming closer. Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to see who it was. As he got closer he could spot a purple light. He normally did not socialize, but the more he figured out about others the more likely he could gain info in case any of them turned into a threat or perhaps a play thing. He stopped once he got a good distance close. "So what brings you in this deep? Were there some foolish gryphons that tried coming this way?"

Alexandra stopped and looked the large male up and down. She clicked her beak for a second before replying "No, there are no yummies today. I'm just looking for a new spot to nap." Her expression was neutral as she spoke. Her voice was strange, almost like a child's. "But if you know where some yummies are I'd be happy to eats them... Maybe share them." Her voice changed, this time it sounded unlike anything natural, it was as if the voice of a male and female had been mixed.
She smiled now, though it didn't reach her eyes. "Though a strong male like you would have none of that would you?" This time it was her own voice, definitely a females. She looked over the bones and eggs he had gathered around. "Men, always messy. She rolled her eyes. Do you ever clean up after yourself? Though I'll give it to you that they are stacked quite neatly."

Dante wasn't quite sure how to react to this demonic gryphon. For now she didn't pose much of a threat to him. She definitely wasn't starting a meaningless battle. "Well it's pretty quiet back here most of the time so you won't be disturbed as much." He still didn't really trust her, but for now he didn't do anything since the last thing he wanted is a battle. "I might if I'm feeling generous, but don't you normally hunt for yourself?" He shook his head when she looked at his mess. "Perhaps...I was saving the bones hoping to use them for random gryphons who would wander in here that are really annoying." He picked one up before chucking it at the dead carcus he had caught a couple hours ago. "If you do want one I suppose you could. Caught too much today anyways...don't want the meat to rot away."

Alexandra nodded slowly "Quite is good. Though I'll probably just end up going back up by the entrance, otherwise the Yummies can't hear me when I'm trying to draw them in." She sat, her tail wrapping around her feet. "Hunting is so tiresome, most of the time I just make others give me what they have just caught. Those near the entrance arn't too keen on fighting and just bluffing can be enough to get what you want. She looked at the bones then back at the male. "I'm not one to pass up an easy male... I meant meal." She shook her head. Great first impression... Not. she thought to herself.

Dante coughed a bit. "Well I definitely wouldn't want to ruin that opportunity." He listened to her. "So basically they are mainly bluffers up there." He sort of smirked at the idea, although it seemed common of this species to do that. "Well I'm not surprised..." He looked down at the ground for a moment until he heard her. Did she do that on purpose or was it accidental? "Just saying though sometimes the most dangerous creatures are the ones you would not expect to be so fearsome."

"They are spineless cowards that are hardly deserving of the title of a Demon." She decided to just forget about her little slip up and act like she never said anything. "There is a quote I learned some time ago." She smiled slightly. "The survival of the fittest is the ageless law of nature, but the fittest are rarely the strong. The fittest are those endowed with the qualifications for adaption, the ability to accept the inevitable, conform to the unavoidable, and to harmonize with existing or changing conditions." She looked him in the eye. "I do not doubt you are possibly quite dangerous. But sometimes I like a walk on the wild side of things. Keeps life interesting." She laughed.

Dante was wondering what this female was trying to get at, but in a way he sort of understood. "Perhaps so, maybe I should pay them a little visit," he said with a little smile. "Although I don't want to get too carried away. Cockiness can be ones downfall if not watched." He listened to her quote. "Sounds pretty reasonable. I wouldn't say I'm the strongest since that would be too arrogant of me, but I wouldn't call myself a complete pushover." He paused for a moment. "Afterall, I did kill my own parents for foolishly worshiping a non existent god." He chuckled a bit before extending his claws and slamming them into a rock cracking a bit of it. "They were too weak anyways and refused to do anything except pray. There god did not save them in the end as they had planned."

"If you were to pay them a visit I'm sure they would all wet themselves like babies and run off to their mothers." She cocked her head the side as she listened to his story. "True strength comes from one's belief in their self, not a god or any 'higher being'. The only thing close higher beings in this world are us Demons. If your parents thought otherwise I think you did the right thing, this world needs to be rid of thoughts like that." She growled at the thought of a Demon praying to a god.

Dante didn't trust her that much, but she definitely was getting to be quite amusing. "Indeed...although I never quite understood them. I'm hoping your family wasn't so weak as mine." He cleaned up the bone pile before moving some of his food supply around. For a while he wasn't sure what to talk about before thinking up an idea. "Do you like playthings?" He turned around. "There's a flock of gryphons nearby here that are rather amusing to toy with sometimes."

"Family?" she snorted and shook her head. "I was born here in the dark, alone, with no one and nothing to my name. I had to learn quick to scavenge so I wouldn't starve to death." She smiled at the thought of messing with a flock. She hadn't had fun like that in quite some time, she was usually too lazy to go out by herself. But if she had another with her they could pull all kinds of tricks. "Hmm, maybe I can try throwing my voice... I've been trying for a while and haven't been able to yet. That's why I like it in here, voices bounce off the walls so it can be hard to tell where it's coming from."

Dante thought about it for a while. "I see...well that is normally how demonics are, but I guess mine valued my life too much. Perhaps I should be grateful in a sense, but yet I can't help but think of them as weak for what they did." He knew that his parents did care, but it was normally unlike a demon to do that. "In grateful I only mean survival to start off. Not the way they tried to raise me." He looked around for a moment trying to hear if anything was outside. "Well...I can tell you this for now. There is definitely something that has entered the cave that does not belong here." He got up and quietly moved forward. "It smells like a young gryphon though. Hasn't its parents told them not to play in the caves?"

"The weak will die, it's the law of nature." She nodded. He ears perked up to catch the faint sounds near the entrance. She couldn't hear much but she could feel a bloodlust in the air. She smiled twords the cavern opening. "If it's lucky it will get away with just nightmares." She cackled. "But it's more likely it will become a few Demon's snack and chew toy." Her dark eyes glittered in the light of the crystals.

Dante nodded at what Alexandra said. "Indeed...maybe its time we pay a visit ." He slowly and quietly got up almost like he was going to do a quick blow at once with whoever had just intruded into the cave. "We need to show them a nice demonic welcome. Where would our manners be now?"
(mind if we just throw a random common gryph (not one of ours) in here)
