Sitting atop the highest hill of their territory, overlooking the sprawling pack coming together below her. It was true that Phoenix Fire took much pride in watching them grow and blossom into a wonderful group, though there was a sense of longing deep within her to find a wolf to catch her eye. There were a few others who caught her eye though she had watched them all come together and knew that none of them could be 'the one'. That was alright though, she had waited and could wait again for the wolf to light that fire within her.

Turning away from the group momentarily, letting the moment pass her, only to see a stunning sight along the horizon. In the distant she saw a vision of warm maroon, lit by a dazzling fire falling away from it. What a strange and yet inviting sight, she pondered. Turning to her second in command for most situations, Sintar, she asked him quietly. "Please watch them for the time being, I'm going to take leave." If they both weren't such formal folk, perhaps the two of them could have gone along the lines she'd hoped, but he wasn't the one, and she knew that. The white wolf nodded, and she took flight from her post in the direction of the blur of warm fire in the distance.

Rinik was out on his way to hunt for the second time that day. He had already eaten quite a bit that morning, but quite frankly, he was bored. When he was bored, he went hunting.
He was following along a path that would lead him deeper into the forest towards his favorite hunting grounds. Well, at least when it came to the smaller prey which is what he was going after now. He wasn't a mean wolf by nature, but when he got bored, he couldn't help but to want to play with the food a little bit when he went hunting, and more so with the smaller animals.

He had been alone for a very long time now. His father had abandoned him and his mother when Rinik was just a pup, and his mother had been killed by a lone wolf that had wandered into their territory. He had been only a young teen at that time, not yet strong enough to defend her. Since then, he had spent a majority of his time making sure he would become a strong wolf, so that something like that would never happen again, as long as he had anything to do with it. However, training had consumed all of his time, and he hadn't taken any time to make any friends, though many opportunities had presented them in the past. He hadn't done this intentionally though, and in recent months, he had started to realize just how alone he was.

Hunting was about the only thing that got his mind off of his current state of independence, even if only temporarily. Rinik's ears twitched. He crouched down low, and sniffed and looked around. He saw a flash of something rush past him. His flames flared up, and he was getting ready to rush after and pounce whatever the flash was.

As she neared the spot where the she could have sworn to have seen a fiery fiend, Phoenix found that there was only grass. She twitched an ear as she passed the spot. Perhaps the thing had moved? Obviously she would have to reevaluate her decision to come out here, it seemed. Adjusting her wings to ease her landing, she touched down and began sniffing to see if she could pick up any traces of a 'thing'. Having no clue what it was or even why it had caught her attention in such a way to lure her out here left her feeling a bit like a fool, but maybe everyone had to be 'the fool' at some point.

She did smell something...something that smelled like a canine perhaps, that is until the overwhelming smell of fire had her reeling back. Fire?! How could there be fire out of thin air? Turning around revealed something she did not expect to see. Rising from the brush before her were licking embers in a gorgeous array of oranges, golds, and even pink tinged wisps. She was entranced with it's beauty, that is, until her instincts took over and she ran towards the source in an attempt to put it out before it spread.

Phoenix stepped a bit cautiously through the covering to see a crouched fiery wolf before her. This was not what she had expected, though she had heard rumors before of wolves with flames, she had never seen one before. To be honest, she wasn't sure how to begin conversation, as this wasn't her usual meet up. Looking him in the eyes, she finally spoke, "Hello Fiery Wolf, if I may ask, why have you ventured so close to my territory?" It really wasn't hers and hers alone, but she did and would defend it from potential foes. This wolf seemed cautious rather than abrasive, so perhaps they could have a civil talk rather than a heated discussion out here.
