Personality: Hotaru is nothing else if not scatter brained. She can rarely remember the day of the week or where she put her pencil case. This doesn't mean she's forgetful in all fields. She can retain information and studied work very decently, it's just that she has a habit of misplacing her belongings. She can be a bit shy for the initial few minutes one knows her, but once you get her talking and prove you're interested, Hotaru is a down right chatterbox.
Generally a nice person, Hotaru tries to be considerate of everyone's feelings and opinions. This isn't to say she likes everyone, just that she'll typically hide it or try to avoid someone she dislikes. Conversely, when she's come to consider someone a friend, she grows very attached to that person and values their opinion more than others. That goes to say that when she loses someone of that level of attachment, she can get very upset.
The last things of note? Hotaru can be a bit hotheaded at times, especially on matter of personal opinions and viewpoints. If someone is trying to push themselves and their ideas onto her, she will bite right back. She also will take any challenge someone gives her and answer it with: "challenge accepted" and the stubbornness to prove them wrong.
Appearance: Pretty basic in appearance, Hotaru has shoulder length hair that's brunette in color. She doesn't typically bother with styling it more than running a brush through it in the morning. The result is that sometimes it can be very messy or haphazard... especially if it's windy. Her eyes are hazel in color and have nothing special about them.
Clothing-wise, she wears the standard middle school outfit. Outside of school she likes wearing skirts, leggings, scarves and whatever t-shirt she decided to pull out of the pile of clothing at the bottom of her closet that day. Usually it's something to the effect of a video game or movie plug. Given that she hates colder weathers, she wears earmuffs and scarves daily when it's winter. For shoes, she typically wears boots or sandals. She only wears normal shoes for school. Once that's said and done, she switches to the others.
Personal History Hotaru grew up to a normal life. She grew up in Tokyo proper to a loving house-wife mother and a businessman father. When she was six, they moved to the Mahora area for her father's work and she transferred into the Mahora schools. She has since lived in the Mahora region and come to love the atmosphere around it.
She has neither excelled or floundered in her classwork. Rather, she stands mostly mediocre out of the rest of the class body and just petters through her school life. She doesn't hold a part-time job, but she does attend her three preferred clubs regularly. (Archery and Gaming more so, Art is just a past-time for her.) Archery she picked up due to her mother being somewhat of a lover of the sport. Gaming she picked up because of a past sudden interest role-playing games and the stories they present. Artwork she enjoys because she's a fan of stories and the characters they create.
Generally, Hotaru is one of those generic nobody students that sits in the background and goes through life being a background shadow.
General Information: While not and overtly religious person, Hotaru has morals that drive her day to day schedules. She tries her best to be a decent person and not be rude to others. Generally, she is polite as any other person on the street, holding open doors, saying please and thank you, and so on.
Habit-wise, she has a tendency to prattle on and on about subjects of interest. She also has the habit of talking to herself at times. For hobbies she typically draws more than is good for someone to draw. Her school satchel is filled with more doodles than actual classwork. She is also fond of video games, typically spending much of her spare time playing them in her room at Mahora House. She also has a liking for archery, though she's not very good at it yet, she enjoys it quite a bit.
