Until I have a Council set in place, all polls and suggestions will be posted in the general forum for all members to see.

Things I Think Should Be Focused
1. What form of fighting system will be in place? Will it be based on dice rolls, ability to roleplay, etc?
2. Are there going to be classes and types, or is it more of a build your own arsenal of force powers?
3. Will Force Users be the only way to fight and roleplay as, or can we choose Bounty Hunter, Soldier, etc?
4. What will be the Force Power system, in regards to usage and cost?
5. Will there be more than two Factions? All I saw was the idea of the Jedi retaining their light side affinity was being discussed.

Maybe one day in the future we will change to a die system, but for now you will post an action and allow your opponent to respond. RP rules will state being fair, and not God modding, etc. 2. Until the guild becomes larger, force powers will be left up to the discretion of the user since strength would differ from user to user. If a user is found to be using powers far beyond his level, the user will be sent a friendly PM from a council member requesting a change. 3. While I would prefer for members to choose either Je'daii or Empire, I understand the draw to being a fringe member. Until further notice, members who wish to be a fringe character will send a copy of their character's history to a council member for approval. This will be on a case-by-case basis. 4. No cost to using Force powers, just consideration for stamina, and how using a certain power may affect the user. Posts will be monitored by council members for continuity 5. For the time being, there are only 2 factions. Depending on future input, that may change. Thank you for your input.

An introduction thread might be nice. wink I'm willing to help you out in any and all ways possible, if you need the assistance. I'll be on Gaia a lot, seeing how as I'm working on reviving my guild too.

We had one, but I archived it. I may post another one, I just thought it gets too cluttered.

Fair point. I'm looking forward to see what you have in store for us.
To make this post legitimate, I suggest we have a party to kick this guild off. blaugh

Right now we only have 4, maybe 5, active members, so I think the party should wait until things get going on a more regular basis.
I think there should be a reward system for getting new active members. Maybe a recruitment contest or promotions, etc.

IMO a reward system is far too soon, let alone could be considered a bribe in some ways. i wouldnt suggest that quite yet. we just need to get more active people involved first then do a recruit and build from there. gonna take a while but it will happen none the less. and you have 1 more active member here now. i wont be on too much but enough to help out and such

As far as promotions goes, I'm keeping that responsibility to myself for now. Maybe once I have an established crew, I'll create a promotion system.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I still think a simple currency system would be really interesting. I've been in an rp that used one and it worked greatly. It provided incentive to stay active, and it generated missions to keep things from getting stale or slow.
I really think it could work.

Elyria Stone robertsanidiot I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I still think a simple currency system would be really interesting. I've been in an rp that used one and it worked greatly. It provided incentive to stay active, and it generated missions to keep things from getting stale or slow. I really think it could work. Dawn of a New Age is my very first RP - what is a currency system? Well first, welcome to the life and the family. I hope we leave a good first impression on behalf of RPs everywhere. Now, a currency system is exactly what it sounds like. Money. Basically, players get rewarded for their accomplishments not only with eventual promotions, but cold hard credits to buy things for your character within the rp. Like weapons, armor, ships, ship upgrades, droids, and other resources. It's not common in most RPs as crew members often find it complicated and hard to wrap your head around the idea to effectively assimilate. But I've seen it done, and the way they had it going was; Members get a certain small lump of credits about every month to use how they like. You can go to a shop in the forum, which can be simple enough as a list of common/popular items people would want and their respective prices. If people find something they like on wookieepedia, they can bring it up with council members and if they approve, they can create a price or use wookieepedia as a reference. Anyway, in addition to the credits you get every month, there are certain side missions that will come with a cash reward upon completion. And in addition to THAT, there will be a bounty board. Characters can have their names put on the board with a price attached to their head. If a Sith character causes too much trouble, he/she can accumulate a bounty. For the Jedi, I assume the Jedi are more or less in hiding in this storyline, as they usually seem to be (xD). If they attract too much attention to themselves, some jerk can rat them out to the empire or whoever wants them dead and they will become wanted as well. Anyone players can claim the bounty (as long as you're from an apposing faction, obviously) or the player themselves can initiate their own conflict with an npc bounty hunter if they have nothing to do (however, they will not receive any credits if this is what they chose to do). If someone approaches the wanted character, they will begin a spontaneous side mission with may result in their capture, and eventual escape. This idea is especially helpful to bounty hunter player characters, since they seem to usually have nothing real to do within the rp. This gives them a chance to be a respected class, and maybe the next bobba fett. However, you do not have to be a bounty hunter to go after a bounty. Probably the smartest way I have seen a currency system used, was when credits were directly related to user activity. It was possible to receive bonus credits with your "paycheck" if you were more active in the rp. However, this probably takes the most work to accomplish, as you have to keep an accurate track of your activity. I know this may seem a little complicated and possibly overwhelming, but this concept can be done very simply, much simpler than how I described if need be. And I truely believe this can work if done right, and help provide a rare extra sense of accomplishment, which will make rping even more fun than it already is. However, I do not expect this idea to be picked up, as I always mention it in every guild I join, and all the words tend to scare people off xD I just thought I'd throw it out there anyway though. (Sorry for the longevity :/ )

Does the "money mule' also hold onto the items and set up a Guild store? Or simply gift them upon accomplishment? I know we all have wish list items especially for Rp. You have my vote!

Does the "money mule' also hold onto the items and set up a Guild store? Or simply gift them upon accomplishment? I know we all have wish list items especially for Rp. You have my vote! Okay, either I lost you at some point or you lost me at some point. Probably the latter. Lol. The way I suggested, we would distribute fake money (republic credits) that can ONLY be used in the guild for your characters rp. You use your imagi-money to buy things for your character in the rp. You don't actually receive an item like you would receive a gaia item, because we can't really do that o_o Basically, the treasurer would give players a number. That number is your monies. You go to the store, which would probably just be a stickied thread in the RP subforum with a list of items and their prices. Lets say you're an apprentice that's almost about to reach knighthood, and you want your own personal ship, not just a fighter that was issued to you. Well you've been saving your credits and you see a YT-1300 is for sale in the shop. You then comment in the shop (or something) that you wanna buy it, you scratch a few thousand credits off of your balance that is written down on a post somewhere in the guild for all to see, and the shop owner (original poster of the thread, whoever's in charge of it) takes the ship off the market for a while. And now you've got a millennium falcon to fly around and set up in when you rp. Instead of just "and so Jack found a ship on tatooine and now its his ship cause he found it" you actually work for it. I really hope I'm not just babbling nonsense here. I'm trying my hardest to explain this in a way that makes sense, but I have a way of over-complicating things :/ That's how I see it, but there's absolutely no reason why we couldn't use real gaia gold, if you think people would go for that more than they would go for fake star wars monies. But then, with the fake money, you can give the treasurer a set number of credits to distribute every month, and then they just do it. But with gold, you're troubled with the question, "where is the gold actually going to come from?" dramallama
