Description
The Phior Region does contests a little differently. Inspired by Lili Donovan.
This contest hall is open just one time in the year.
it's a double duet. This contest requires a coordinator to have a partner. Each will select a theme and a single pokemon per round. Judging is based on how well both coordinators guide their pokemon in poise, how well their theme is followed, and the moves used to display not only the pokemon's grace, but how they display the grace and beauty of their partner.

"Good morning Phior! It's Lili Donovan here, your favorite and fired up Contest Host, and we're back for another year of heated contests here in the Phior Region with our Pannel of judges for our opening Magnolia Town Contest." Lili smiled bright and delightfully at the camera. Her excitement was obvious, and her energy even more apparent as she squirmed around adorabbly. "Let's give a warm welcome for the sweetest flower power, tender love and caring, Magnolia's Nurse Joy; our region's elite four member and contest enthusiast, the master of appeals, Azreal Lennon; and our beloved expert on all things contest, the guy with the eye for pokemon and trainer relations, Mister Funny Cooki!" As usual, with every year, Lili managed to mess up Fuunikookii's name. And as usual, a shout in the back could be heard to try and angerly correct her. At this point, it wasn't certain if she still had a hard time with the name, or if she was messing it up deliberately, or even just keeping the tradition that gained some slight popularity in cute and comedy for the relationship between host and judges.
"And a big hand for our guest hosts: Rose and Daisy, the Magnolia Gym Leaders!" She clapped for the guests, giving her best efforts to draw attention to what the town had to offer. "The sign ups have just opened and it certainly looks like a lively group of competitors lining up," She gestured. "In honor of Magnolia Town's efforts to help rehabilitate disabled pokemon, an adoption fair is being held for each day of the contest! Kids and adults both can have the chance to meet the pokemon, pet and play to help get these sweeties back on their feet! ... Or hooves... Or fins!" Gavin panned the camera from the hall of competitors to the adoption pokemon, timid and sweet. "This is your time to help make a difference. For every bit you donate, your contest hosts will match it to help keep the adoption center going to help pokemon!"
Gavin got slightly worried. He still had a few dates with Agetha, and Lili wasn't exactly helping with that. "Now let's look at the ribbons our winning pair will earn!" She held up the two tiny ribbons, vibrant as the magnolias and symbolizing of love. "The Magnolia tag team contest appeals will be starting soon, and we hope to see you there!" She winked. "This is Phior's contest sweetheart, Lili Donovan, signing out!"

Azrael grinned and waved as he awaited seeing the performances that would appear before him. When he wasn't battling trainers to reach the Champion, he was usually at a Contest Hall somewhere whether it was performing or judging it. As the saying went 'You can take the coordinator out of the Contest Hall but you can take the love of coordination out of the coordinator. And that was Azrael, a coordinator still at heart even if being an Elite was a full time job. He still missed and enjoyed the moments of working with his pokemon to make beautiful performances. And making people smile.
At the moment, he was grinning at the camera man and the hostess of the event. He winked at the green haired boy... He always did like the color green. And blonde wasn't too bad either...

(Sorry haven't made an official post format for him yet, gomen! And, I know I need to go make his profile too as an extra, I'll get to that here as soon as possible... Thanks!)
Mister Fuunikookii
As per usual, the punctual Fuunikookii had been right on time to the contest, smiling at the crowd as the rather attractive hostest, Lili Donovan, gave her salutations to the crowd. In the spirit of the contests -and because he was genuinely excited to see the performances!-, he too smiled enthusiastically. "It's Fuunikookii!" He corrected frustratedly. How did she always manage to get his name wrong? Gaw! Nonetheless, at this point it really didn't bother him, it was actually kind of funny, but the audience enjoyed the banter so he was more than OK with just going with it.

"Well, what do you think about today's turn out?" Lili asked, strolling up to the judges. It wasn't quite as big as the final contest in Pendant City last year with everyone scrambling for their third and final ribbon. "Is there any contestant you think we should keep an eye on? Cole Baldwin isn't competing this year, so I think more talent will be obvious this time around," She smiled cutely. Her hands folded behind her back, and her heels bounced like a little girl in her giddy excitement. "Maybe we should start doing mini interviews with some of the contestants to air right before their rounds. What do you think Gav--" Her face dropped. Her camera man had disappeared again. "Gavin?""So, you sound pretty confident about zigzagoon winning." Of coarse... He was off with a pretty face. "Figures a pretty trainer would have a cute pokemon. You got this one in the bag!" He charmed. "So... Maybe we can grab lunch or just some coffee before the appeal rounds begin. What do you say? OW! ow ow ow!" He felt himself being hauled off by a jealous partner."Focus, lover boy! We've got work to do!" So much for sweet and endearing. Or adorable.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Iris walked around, seeing the stands and the stage getting about ready for the contest. There was the hostess Lili Donovan and the cameraman that was always with her. And there was the Elite Four member and well known coordinator Azrael Lennon.
"Sugoi..." Iris jumped and down as she looked around. She was highly excited and almost couldn't contain herself. She would be performing in her first contest and according to the buzz around... ohh it was going to be big. She walked up to Lili.
"You're Lili Donovan." Iris said gleefully. "I'm a big fan... I love watching you host contest. You're popular in Unova. It's a pleasure to meet you... It really is."

"Hm?" Lili looked back at an adoring fan, returning to her hostess self. "Oh, thanks!" She smiled brightly, flattered by it. "I didn't think the Unova region even paid any attention to us. I mean, Kanto and Johto are casual watchers, and don't get me started on Sinnoh! The snobs." She scoffed.Gavin rolled his eyes. "Now look at who's not focused," He muttered laughingly. Rolling his camera up, he noted some of the first contesting pairs. The word of their more unusual contests had begun to spread. Some embraced the challenge and the performances, others were a little put off by them. The ideas broke the tradition of contests. Sure, each side had their own little twists with contests, but Lili Donovan made each one like a silver screen premier. And some argued that it was in bad taste from the sport.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Iris smiled. "I watch you all the time in my tour bus..." she said happy that the girl was talking back to her as more contestants filed in. Some of them in pairs as was needed for the contest... It was on the back burner that she need someone to perform with. She was sure that Vern and Naoki would be perform.
"My name is Iris Haruno, it's a pleasure to you and your cameraman. It's really funny when you two interact. I always told myself if I ever got a chance to meet you I would ask for your autograph and be able to perform in a contest where you were. I'm still new but I hope I can impress you."
Iris turned and waved to green haired cameraman. "Hi there, it's nice to meet you...You're really funny. And now that I see you, you're really cute too."

Lili shoved aside her flirty camera man. A fan was here and it was best not to have Gavin mess everything up. "It's always nice to meet a fan," She smiled. "But remember that it's not just me you have to impress. The judges call the shots on that. Azrael, Nurse Joy, Funny Cookie, and our guest judges will be scoring you. And this contest can be particularly tricky--but a big fan like you knows that!" She chuckled delightfully, the same person off camera as she was on the screen of pokemon centers and homes through the region and slowly growing around the world.
"Sometimes siblings or the best of friends will pair up and practice for months just for this contest. Relying on a second coordinator and their pokemon can be nerve breaking if you can't sync up with them, so a half the contestant rather be paired up blindly. They figure that they'd stand a better chance of winning the partner lottery than making it through without breaking a friendship." She explained the cruciality of the contest. In any contest, just choosing a pokemon partner can make or break you. Adding in a second round switch puts on more pressure, and a double pokemon contest has the greatest pressure of all! But relying on a second person and pokemon, that sort of pressure could break friendships, cause family rifts, and end relationships if they weren't careful. It's usually a lot safer, emotionally, to be set up with a stranger.
"As you know, Contests aren't just about looking good. Azrael judges on the moves used and how, Funny cookie will look at a pokemon's form and focus, Joy looks at their overall health, and you guest judges are looking for the bonds and conections each trainer has with their pokemon. Only, in this case we have two guest judges that are also looking for how well the trainer coordinates with their partners. The first judgement is on how the two look together side by side; a matching or opposite theme riles up the crowd and excites the judges, and if their pokemon choice follows then a bigger point boost is gained." Lili went on, showing the thought and passion she had for her contests. But with a wink and coy smile, she waved off the girl to head for the registration stand and see about the potential first timers and the veterans of the contest hall. "I'll be looking for you and your partner on the lists!" She squeaked, dragging Gavin with her.

At the door of the contest hall, the Magnolia Gymleader twins stood to greet those walking in. Roselia by Rose, and Roserade by Daisy, too, greeted the entrants. "And please don't forget to stop by the adoption center," They reminded frequently. And every time a judge or significant figure for the contest passed, they made sure to wave. The contest was their biggest financial contributor, and awareness raiser for the adoption center, pokemon abuse and abandonment, and the college dedicated to the health of both pokemon and people. Though, there was a downside: the twins would fall a chapter behind in their lessons for each class, and the college itself was closed for the contest duration and fall behind as a whole to make time for tours and such. Still, Magnolia Town was a growing and thriving place thanks to Lili Donovan's Contest Halls.
The twins even made a point of their honored position as guest judges, and each dressed to play their part. A crown of speckled flowering laurels was on each head. Embroidered doily flats decorated their feet. And simple, sweet summer dresses made them even more impossible to tell apart.

  Electra Sparks
Running up as fast as she could, Electra called out to the registree counter. "Hang on! I still have to register!" She panted, using the last of her energy to run up and register for the contest. "And I... I still need a partner..." She panted hard.
"No problem," Said the desk girl. a few types of her fingers and a partner was found. "Alister Barillius will be your partner," She smiled, and turned the monitor to show his picture. "And what pokemon will you be registering for the contest?"
"That's easy," Electra smiled. "I'm going with my very best pikachu: Lysander!" She presented the pokeball. 'Lysander worked really hard--and so did Odessa and Malukah-- to get me that Climate Badge. But dig and hidden power are a perfect combination!'
"And that should do it," The woman smiled. "Your partner has been notified and should be back here to greet you."
"That's perfect!" Electra exclaimed happily. "I can't wait!" She squirmed around, missing the woman's glance up at Alister, looking down at his pokegear.
"They're kidding..." He said in an annoyed tone. "I got paired up with a little kid?"
"Huh?" Electra looked up. That was him alright, but already he seemed like a jerk.
"Just don't slow me down or get in our way," He grunted, turning his head low at his butterfree. He really was a jerk! "Just hurry up so we can fix all the mistakes you had planned for the contest. Already Electra hated him, but there was nothing she could do for now. She'd just have to put up with it through the contest; because after that, she wouldn't have to be around him for any gym battle or contest competition. Who knows? She might even get some insight on how to knock him down a peg for humility. In the mean time though, she looked him up on her own pokegear.
Apparently, he wasn't very well liked, but he was good at training pokemon and won a lot of contests in the past. "Hey! You gonna focus or not?" He called in that same scowling tone. "Run it again. It has to be perfect!"
Electra held her tongue, and just nodded. "Lysander, Dig!" She called.
"Calisto, Psybeam!" Alister commanded. A lightning bolt was drawn on their practice field, and each corner had a hole that remained mostly hidden by the trenches made.
"Now use hidden power!" A storm of light glowing beads rained out of the burros Lysander had dug. All of them floated up with butterfree in the center of it all.
"Calisto, silverwind! Let's go!" Alister called again. The butterfree spun around with its silver wind, gathering up the hidden power in a swirl of silver and gold.
"That's it! That's perfect!" Electra cheered, in awe of their creation.
"Run it again." Alister said, still not satisfied.
"But it was perfect!" Electra argued.
"I said: Run it again." He didn't even look at her. "We need to know this in our sleep. Then we need to find whatever theme we can come up with for when we walk in." He was serious. A serious jerk.
"Why not thunder and wind?" Electra remarked. "That's what we're using," She added in some sarcasm.
"Just make sure you don't embarrass me on stage."

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Iris nodded her head as she headed off the registration stand. Now that she started to think about it, Iris didn't know who she could be paired up with. And if she didn't know she wondered how she could prepare her pokemon in the same where. She only had four with her: her Joltik, Oshawott, Poochyena and Zorua. She started to think, Rai was very small, seeing nearly impossible without equipment. Kuroi knew Dig and Hyper Voice she wonder what partner would work with that. Zoey was charismatic and attention grabbing in various ways but her move could be a problem if she got the wrong partner.
By the time it was her turn, she was scratching her head as her mind raked over different idea and scenarios. Finally when she stopped to look at the clerk was looking back at Iris with a lifted brow, Iris chuckled sheepishly as she registered. But hearing that she didn't have a partner, she would have to wait for one. She was registered but she seriously needed a partner...

Lydia Cross [from magnolia town square]
"Wow!" Lydia gaped at the contest hall. There were so many different sorts of pokemon; there were so many people--and almost as many in costume! Compared to all that, Lydia was under dressed in her pink tank-top and blue-jean capris. "I don't think I've ever heard of a double contest," She went on to say. "All the ones Mia entered were a one on one," Smiling down at her pikachu, it only looked puzzled at the whole thing.
"I've never actually seen a contest up close," She started to walk while awing at the whole thing, "This would be a great opportunity to learn and--ow!" She bumped into something. Well, she bumped into someone... "S-sorry..." She said, rubbing her face and looking at the girl she'd run into. Green hair...

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Iris moved herself from the line as she had to wait for a partner. But this was real life, a partner wasn't just going to appear for her. Surely, she left someone bumping into her. She was more sturdy than the person that bumped into her as she looked at the girl. Iris looked before she opened her mouth. "Are you okay?" Iris said as she apologized for bumping into her. "Oh it's okay." Iris said, "I'm okay. Are you okay?" She asked again.
Iris looked down and noticed the pikachu. "Hey it's a pikachu. I haven't seen on in like forever. Awww it's a cutie." Iris moved her hair a little. "Hey Rai come say hi."

Lydia Cross Pi? Voltz's ears perked up. Pika pika! He smiled up.
"Wha--no, I'm fine!" Lydia said, quickly and awkwardly. "I just need to watch where I'm going. You see... I've never seen a pokemon contest up close and live before, so it's a little overwhelming." An awkward laughed showed just how ignorant she was. Odds are, she probably had no idea what the Kanto contest rules were--let alone how different things were around here! "So... Why is everyone in costume? It's too early for a halloween theme, isn't it?" Glancing around, she awed at all the different themes: Pirates, ninjas, princesses, everything was there!
"Huh?" Lydia finally stopped staring with a gaping mouth long enough to notice a tinier yellow pokemon. "Isn't that a joltik? How cuuute! I heard that joltik were one of the smallest pokemon in the world, but I've never actually seen one before!" Even Voltz looked happy to see another electric type, sharing static from itself in greeting.
"Oh! I'm sorry! I never introduced myself, even though I bumped right into you," she went back to being odd. "My name is Lydia Cross, and this is Voltz. Pleasure to meet you!" Holding out a hand, Lydia smiled. "So are you entering the contest with your joltik? It'd be kind of hard to see, don't you think?" Awkwardness is awkward...
