Even the gym leader is fascination by biology (Particularly pokemon cell biology). Why do pokemon evolve? Why do some stay the same? Why do some require stones or certain times in the day? These are just a few of the questions that the scientists of Alcove City want to solve. The gym leader himself carries cell pokemon who's evolutions are diverse depending upon situations.
