Having so many changes in weather happen so fast made it the perfect spot to study atmospheric phenomenons in weather and how pokemon contribute to it.
The Gym leader here is the son of the head meteorologist in the weather station. Naturally, he shares the same fascination with how pokemon affect weather.
However, the pokemon here aren't usually the friendliest. They're always competing to have their climate in control for their best benifit. Grass pokemon and fire pokemon continue with sunny day, while ice pokemon use hail and water pokemon use rain dance. The changes contradict each's perfect climate, and so the tend to get frustrated.
