 Princess was eating some berries close to the pond. It was rather peaceful at this side of the forest. She knew nothing of what other gryphons were like. Once she hatched she had wandered around and eventually came across a green egg and decided to adopt it. Eventually she came over to the egg and sat next to it while trying to keep it warm. "I sure hope your a gryphon similar to me." She lightly smiled at the idea before shutting her eyes for a nap.

 Naomi had been walking through the woods when she came across a sleeping gryphon. She quietly tip toed around her before bending down at the pond to get a nice cold drink. She had not seen another gryphon in quite a while. Eventually Naomi finished her drink and was about to leave before she tripped over a rock and fell into the pond. She yelped in surprise while struggling to get out.

Princess had been sleeping until the slash occurred. She slowly began to open her eyes while catching a glimpse of a struggling gryphon. For a moment she was still half asleep until it clicked that the poor gryphon didn't swim that well. Princess quickly and swiftly went over and tried pulling Naomi out of the pond. She pulled her all the way on shore before panting a bit. "You silly girl, your supposed to drink it, not have the water drink you." A light chuckle escaped under her breath.

Naomi coughed a bit hacking out some water before looking up at the gryphon that had just saved her. "Oh...thank you." She lightly laughed a bit embarrassed before dippin her head in saying thanks. "I don't think I've seen you before. You new here?"

Princess nodded her head. "Yep, definitely am, and actually your the first living gryphon I've seen since I've hatched. When I hatched there was this green egg over here." She motioned for her to follow. "See what I mean?" She showed the egg to Naomi. "So I take it gryphons hatch out of these?"

Naomi looked at the egg the yellow and purple gryphon had found. "Yep, they sure do. In fact you were probably born of one as well." She swished her tail feathers a bit before looking around. "I'm kind of new too, but I at least know what an egg is." She giggled a bit. "Although I don't have any parents, or remember them for that matter." She looked down sadly.

Princess was happy for a moment, but soon grew confused as to why Naomi was sad. "Parents? Family?" She didn't understand a thing. "If you want I could be your family." She looked down at the ground then towards the egg. "I mean if you want one. I need one to...I guess." She wasn't sure what to say or do at a time like this.

Naomi looked up for a moment to see what Princess was talking about. "Family? The green egg, you, and me?" She slightly smiled. "Well that would be alright with me. Two children would be better at keeping an egg warmer than just one." She paused for a moment. "Well my name is Naomi. It's a pleasure to meet you...er...what's your name?"

Princess clapped her paws together in excitement. "Yeah we're a family. Nice to meet you Naomi. I'm..." She trailed off for a second. "I don't know...no one ever gave me a name before." She sighed a bit disappointed before looking down at the ground.

Naomi smiled proudly before noticing Princess' excitement turn to sheer disappointment. "Huh? You never got a name?" She scrunched her face together trying to think. "Well how about I give you a nickname then? I'll just call you princess since you seem as pretty as one."

Princess looked up at Naomi with a cheerful smile. "Ok! Works for me." She happily smiled. "So how about we find a good place to live? That way demonic gryphons won't come after us, especially the egg."

Naomi smiled and nodded her head. "Alright, although someplace secluded would be nice. It'll be harder for them to track us down." She got up. "Here, I'll help you carry the egg."

Princess smiled. "Thanks." She lifted the egg up. "So...now where do we go to?" She wasn't quite sure where everything was. This was the closest place she knew.

Naomi sighed a bit disappointed at her friend's lack of knowledge of the area. "Well...there is a hidden cave somewhere around here. I guess that will do for now since we probably can't carry this egg too far."

Princess chuckled a bit. "Yeah, that sounds fine anyways. I wouldn't want to go anywhere too far with the egg anyways." She then headed off with Naomi to the cave they were going to live at. When they got there Princess put the egg down by the exit. "So this is it?"
