Everyone's got their own theories of demons, ghosts, and ghouls. Their own versions of what each and every monsters look like.
But who's to say only one of them is right?
Monsters, ghosts, and demons come in all different forms.
They are the one's who go bump in the night.
And then there are one's who shine the light in the dark.

A spark illuminates a dark alleyway, revealing two men. One of them is dressed in a duffel coat with his hood raised above his head in a futile effort to save himself from the pouring rain. His size is unimposing, average height at most and not much of a build to show through his thick coat. The other is in a leather jacket, lighting a cigarette with zippo lighter that lit the street earlier. He is taller and has a larger quality than his companion. The light captures the sharp piercing quality of his gaze. His blond spiked hair looks as if it was made of hay, shooting in all direction. As the thin strand of smoke start to rise, he offers one to his companion. He turns towards the pack of cigarettes and shakes his head. The sudden motion brings his face into light. His features are Asian, with a hint of a playful nature hidden underneath his focused expression. His jet black bangs lightly fall upon his right eye and extending into a smooth curve just enough to hide it from view.
"No thanks. I'm trying to cut back. No more cigarettes. Just the pipe." The blond man shrugs and slips the pack back into his chest pocket. As he speaks, the English accent is thick in his speech.
"The pipe? Isn't that worse than cigs?"
"I'm talking plain pipe tobacco. Nothing fishy. Actually it's safer. Less of the tar, chemicals, etc."
"And this has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that you're a Sherlock Holmes fan?"
"Well, actually it has everything to do with me being a Holmes fan."
The asian man replied jovially and chuckled a bit. He wrapped his arms around himself and shivered as the rain started to take its toll.
"Isn't this vamp supposed to be here by now? This alley is the center of the recent wave of attack."
"Well, yes, it's the center of a spiral pattern. But how sure can we be that your profiling methods can really be applied to demons?"
"Half demons. And even that really depend on the species of vampire we're dealing with. Some are born out of demonic or mystical origin, some are just based on purely biological evolution. The biological kinds also stem into different categories. You've got your New York Split-Jaw, your Washington Twilights, and lets not forget the Chupacabra"
The blond man gave the asian man a questionable glance. "Chupacabra? You ARE pulling my leg this time, right?"
"Swear to god, no leg pulling. I warned you when you joined up. You'll be seeing some more bizarre s**t along the road."
The blond man chuckled at the asian man's comment.
"Trust me, Bandi. I've had my share of weird in my life. My own father's a vampire. A very high ranking one in the coven, too."
"Yeah, about that. How the hell did that work out? A vamp's rank is usually directly proportional to the reputation he or she builds over time or how many they sire. You're father can't be an old vampire, since you're only 25 years old, so he's only been a vamp for 25 years at most."
The man shifted at Bandi's question and inhaled his smoke deeply before he gave an answer.
"He was an extremely intelligent man even before he was turned. And when he did, he utilized his ability to manipulate people, ruthlessness to take out enemies, and strategic knowledge to bring out best results out of his resources. By the 5th year into his time as a vampire, he was one of the leaders of his coven."
Bandi glanced at him cautiously for a moment before he opened his mouth.
"East, How did you get away from..."
"Bandi, nine o' clock."
"Huh?"
"Look to your left." East explained as he quickly doused out his cigarette.
Sure enough, Bandi was able to catch a glimpse of a figure skulking in the shadow on the other side of the alley. Upon closer observation, he could see that it was in fact two figures, with one leaning on the other, seemingly unconscious.
"Yeah, definitely time to move in. Looks like we got a victim to save while we're at it."
Bandi reached his left hand behind him, grabbing at the hilt of the sword hanging behind him. The hilt was two feet long, approximately the same length as the blade itself, judging from the scabbard. It was also hinted from the grooves that it was collapsable and extends even longer. The blade was not a slender sword, but a very broad blade, suggesting that it was a Korean blade called a Woldo. The collapsable handle would explain the short length for a usually four feet handle. His right hand reached a sachel that was slung to his right side, which unfolded into a long leather strip with various vials and tools organized into separate slots. Bandi selected four of the vials and closed the sachel and stuck each vials between his fingers in his right hand.
East, on the other hand, carried no visible weapon but merely slipped on a pair of leather gloves as he got off the wall he was leaning on.
"When was the last time you coated that blade with silver?" East asked as he led the way to the warehouse the vampire and the victim entered.
"Uh, two weeks ago, During the last full moon. Why? Not like we're fighting werewolves here."
"Well vampires are also allergic to silver. Not as devastatingly as the lycans, but enough to really damage the healing of the wound from it."
"Right. Well, hopefully we dust these vamps on the spot so we don't have to worry about any healing. But in case any of them do get away, yeah, my blade's got silver coating."
"Good." East nodded. He then noticed a loud clunking noise from the inside, most likely a dead bolt locking.
"Great. There goes our element of surprise, I suppose." mumbled East.
"Says who?" Bandi asked and took off his left hand from his sword and snapped his fingers.
At that points the hinges blew off and the doors naturally fell to the ground. The thick cloud of dust left the vamps coughing and trying hard to regain visual. East unzipped his jacket to reveal neat rows of clean white wooden stakes lining the inner seams. His hand gripped two in between his fingers, which were firmly planted in the hearts of two vampires the next moment. This was enough to spring the others into acute alertness. The rest of the coven snarled furiously as they flew in to avenge their fallen brothers.
"They make this so easy..." Bandi sighed and clicked a button on his blade. The mechanism extended the handle with a satisfying click, transforming the weapon into a full sized Woldo. As soon as the blade was as tall as his own height, Bandi swung the blade horizontally and sliced off a head cleanly. It was an odd feeling, to not have a fountain of blood exploding from the wound. Instead, a cloud of ash scattered through the air and left no other trace of any creature that stalked the night of the city. But before the dust could settle, Bandi's blade was once again swinging in the air. This time, he pulled back from and an actual contact, but swung it at the direction of one of the oncoming adversaries. A orange wave of flames trailed the path of the blade and caught upon the vamp. The blood curdling cry of agony was enough to spook the rest into hesitation, leaving many open to attack.
The vials in his right hand flew at a crowd of female vamps. As the glass broke upon impact, they were doused in holy water. They screamed as the sacred prayers imbued in the water burned and melted at their flesh. However, they were put out of their misery soon enough by one of East's flying stakes.
East, on the other hand, took a more hands-on routine. His fist was wrapped around a stake, its white hue now soaked deep dark scarlet. Unlike the ones that he threw (which were stout, straight and optimal for throwing and staking) the ones he was using now were slender, curved, and narrow, as if it was shaped like a knife. Sure enough, he was using them to cut open wounds as much as he was using them for stabbing. He was methodical and efficient, punching a face, slitting the throat, and then finishing with a stab in the heart. Punch, slit, stab; punch, slit, stab; Punch, slit, stab... Occasionally one of his prey would tackle him before he could react. He subsequently placed his hand upon the vampire and and explosion of wind would blow him away. Unlike Bandi, who was an explosive force, East was a controlled cannon, his expression was neutral and calm, completely in control.
It was less then 15 minutes before the numbers dwindled and the only vampire left was weighing his option. It didn't took him long to decide to make a run for it to the exit.
"Oh, come on... Really?" Bandi asked and then shot a fireball at the running vamp. The flame met with one of East's stake mid-air, and the running blood-sucker had a flaming stake impaled in his back, penetrating his heart. After a single shudder, the creature was reduced to a pile of ashes.
Without relishing their victory, Bandi flew over to the limp body of the victim the vampires dragged in. The sight of a young girl, no more than 15, made Bandi's blood cold. He quickly checked for a pulse in her neck, but there was nothing.
"Damn it....." He swore through gritted teeth. "DAMN IT!" This time, his curse bellowed through the warehouse and his fist left a crater on the concrete floor.
East quietly laid a hand on his shoulder. "Come on. They had her before we even saw them. There was nothing we could have done."
Even though there was truth in East's words, Bandi couldn't help feeling furious. Furious with the vampires. Furious with the little girl's parents, who didn't keep this girl safe. Furious with himself, who couldn't save this girl. Just as he couldn't save his sister...
"th....thirsty...."
The voice was so quiet, he almost missed it. Bandi shot a glance at the child and there she was with her eyes open. She was looking at him with a longing glance, pleading with him.
"Please... I'm so thirsty...."
Bandi stared at her dumbfounded for a moment, and then registered her words. "Thirsty.... thirsty...! Of course! Give me a moment, I have a canteen...!" But as he frantically rummaged through his canteen, he heard a sickly sound of a stake ripping through flesh. He turned aghast at the little girl, whose fangs were inches away from him. A white stake was planted in her heart.
Bandi had less than a second into the sad eyes of the girl, as she crumbled into the wind. He spun upon East, gripping the hem of his shirt and one hand pulled back and ready to plant in his face.
"What was that?! Why?!"
East's expression was unaffected, but his eyes showed compassion. "You know why."
Bandi glanced back at the pile of ashes and dropped his head. His fist fell deftly at his side and the other released East's shirt. "Yeah..... I do... I'm sorry." His voice dropped. He picked up his satchel and headed towards the door. "Let's go..."
East looked back at the ash of the child, picked up the stake in the pile, replaced it back into his jacket, and followed after Bandi.

Matthias raised his fists as the bell rang for the beginning of the match his gloved hands squeaking in the new leather made slick by his sweaty palms. Mathias had fought dozens of times but his last fight was over two years before. His last match ended with him having two cracked ribs and being expelled from the ring based off of cruelty to his combatant. Mathias was named “The Demon”. As a fighter he is decent but while he fights he waits till his opponent strikes him several times. But every time the 5th strike is laid on him something breaks inside of him. And as a writer once said in an article about him knock and the devil shall answer. Five hard hits and his mind breaks. No one knows why but some have theorized that it had to do with his child hood that his abusive father struck him as hard as he could only five times each time Mathias’s father abused Mathias. Mathias though has been quoted that that statement is only a theory.
Mathias is a master of Mauy Thai and Japanese Ju Jitsu. His movements are fluid from the Ju Jitsu and fierce from the strikes he has learned from Mauy Thai. Mathias’s ribs weren’t broken by the other fighter in the ring. They were broken by the 4 referees that tried to pry him off the other fighter. Mathias broke the other fighters arm at the shoulder and crushed a vertebra in his spine making him paralyzed from the waist down. Mathias would have done more if the referees hadn’t gotten in the ring in time. Mathias was in mid strike when the first referee struck him in the face. Each referee held down a limb till they were able to bring in a sedative to calm him down then strapped him down and took him to a hospital where he was treated for psychosis. Mathias was released from treatment two years after the incident. His name went down in history as a monster. Mathias has been a fighter his whole life. Fighting is in his blood fighting is who he is. Now as he circles with an underground fighter the blood pumps in his veins again as it had when he fought in the main stream mma fights. Now as he stood flexing his fingers and stretching the new leather of his gloves. His face hidden by a beard and long hair no tattoos to recognize him as The Demon Mathias struck and struck again not even giving his underground opponent a chance to hit him back. 9 blows to the head and the young punk was out cold and flat on the mat. Mathias breathed hard as they raised his hand claiming him winner and handing him his pay even a bonus for knocking the man unconscious in the first round. Mathias strolled back into his changing room counting his 900 dollar winnings when there was a knock at the door. Mathias at first thought it was going to be the owner of the club where the match was fought here to try and get him to come back and fight again or maybe even try to get Mathias to give him a cut of the 900 dollars Mathias had made in the fight. But as the door opened there stood his old manager a smile spread across his face from ear to ear. His name was Dave Monteres an old boxer who got into training when he was crippled in a fight. At first Dave had come to just ask to be his manager. "You know man I haven’t seen a fighter like you in almost 2 or 3 years. The last fighter who fought like you went nuts and I lost all my clout with main stream fighters. If you would sign with me I would be more than happy to pay you double what you just made every fight.” Changing his voice slightly Mathias responded. ” Nah.. man I just do this kinda stuff to blow off steam. Im not looking to make this a career.” Mathias looked Dave in the eye and Dave’s jaw dropped open.” The demon.” Your Mathais Graves.. I know you boy.. I trained you I studied your moves I helped you master every technique you know.. You may have hidden your face and not used any fancy moves but I know its you boy.” Mathias shook his head.” Im sorry but you have the wrong man mr.” Dave grabbed him and spun Mathias around to look at him. ” If I had a knife I’d shave your damn face and know its you. But I don’t need to see your face. Your eyes. Your eyes boy give you away. Those eyes thrilled me every time I saw your face . They were youth incarnate, and hell spawn mixed together. They were frightening and beautiful in one violent mix like the mix of the chemical bomb one ounce of wrong chemical away from going off.. Your Mathias Graves.” Mathias went to shake his head no but the look on Dave’s face was don’t you give me one more word of bullshit and all Mathias could do was smile. ” Ssshh.. Im not allowed to even fight any more you know that Dave. If I get caught Im not going back to the mental hospital. I am going to jail. As a condition of my parole Im not allowed to take one step into any ring.” Now it was Dave’s time to smile.” I know.. I’m just glad to see you.. You still fight like a demon boy. Get dressed.. Let’s get a drink I want to catch up with you.

The Sisters of Augustine “ I will light a candle for your loss.” The family that stood before her bowed their heads and went to sit at a pedestal not far from her. The woman, rather blond in appearance was wearing a long black robe, signifying her as one of the followers of the church. She wore more traditional garb of a nun but did not wear the head peace, which allowed her hair to go free. After all she was the head of this church, a female which was not seen often. Blue eyes skimmed the room. It was rather empty today, the lack of people saddened her but she could not force people to believe in god, they simply had to do it on their own. The girl turned and moved over to the candles. She lit one using the fire of another and bowed her head in prayer.
“This is not the place for you sister. You, out of everyone here, happen to be the biggest sinner of all.” The blond did not look to the source of the voice for she already knew who it was. She finished her prayer and stood, slowly turning and moving to the alter in the center of the room. “Even if you polish the alter a million times it won’t bring him back. We don’t have that kind of power.” Finally she gave in and turned on the woman. This woman looked just like her minus the fact that her hair was black as night and her eyes were tinted red.
“What do you want from me Ray?” The blond placed her hands on her hips, obviously not interested in what had to be said.
“We have a mission. The Sisters of Augustine have a mission.” The blond sighed and bowed her head in defeat as she knew she had no other choice.
“Very well, allow me to change.” She quickly left the room, returning only when she was ready. She wore a plain black dress, white frills at the bottom. A silver cross hung from her neck as her blond hair flowed out behind her. In her hands she held a little black book bound in leather. Slowly the blue orbs met red and the two girls shared the same thought. “Let us end this quickly. I do not wish to spend time away from the church.”
“It’s your own fault Yune. You pledged loyalty to the syndicate, as did I. Father is law.” Both girls nodded in the sad realization. The dark haired girl, Ray wore a similarly fashioned clothing, a simple black dress and a silver cross adorning her chest. They did not look very frightening but they had a rather large reputation. The Augustine sisters were a monster hunting duo, sometimes it happened to be supernatural monsters, while other times it was simply a human criminal. It did not matter who, they had been hired and there for they had to get to work.
“Who is the target?”
“His name is Armond Chantelle. According to our intel he is a human trafficker, especially of young teens. On the side he is manufacturing a drug called Zerua. It’s components are unknown but it seems to be inducing some weird strand of vampire DNA. It turns people into one of them for a short period of time and prolonged exposure kills the person. It is highly addictive. No cure and or sedative has been found after the person has taken the drug.”
The blond girl frowned and grabbed the cross on her chest as the dark haired one, Ray, spoke. She didn’t like the sound of this. Still, none the less she grabbed her over coat, a long black trench coat that floated about her body, defying gravity. She held the leather bound book to her chest and the two girls exited the church. Once outside they turned their attention to a large man standing at the bottom of the stairs. In one hand he had an umbrella, protecting him from the rain, while in the other he had a bag. He stared at the girls and smiled as he held out the rather large bag. This bag was taller than the girls and about a foot wide. He threw this bag at their feet and chuckled a bit “Here are your toys girls. Happy hunting.” He waved a hand over his head and walked away.
Yunari clutched her chest as she stared after the man with a sad smile. “Father…” But of course he didn’t hear her, he was far to busy walking away. She sighed, leaned down and picked up the bag with one hand. It looked far to heavy for a girl her size to be carrying but she swung it around like it was nothing.
Ray snickered a bit and placed her hands behind her head “Show off.” The two girls shared a little smile before Yune allowed a little laugh and the two began to walk, easily sliding into the shadows of an alley.

Mathias sat across from Dave listening to Dave's story of his rise and fall from being one of the top trainers of MMA fighters. How after Mathias went insane no other fighter would sign with him thinking that David had driven Mathias insane himself with his training methods or something. Mathias just laughed."David you didn't drive me nuts. I was already insane I was made that way by my parents. Or at least thats what the doctors told me that it was all my parents fault and fighting was just my way of releasing my rage but my rage was to much for me to control. Thus I killed a man who in his face looked exactly like my father. But I cant fight in a legal ring anymore. You know that David." David smiled the look on his face changing to a smile Mathias had never seen a smile that had more teeth than Mathias was sure were in a humans mouth. "I never said anything about legal matches Mathias." Taking a swig of a drink that Mathias could tell wasnt booze David only smiled wider. "The matches wont be legal but they arent underground either." Mathias looked at him and shook his head in disbelief of his so called friend and former teacher." Im not gonna be someones private monkey to play with. I dont fight for some rich snobs in their basements or some bullshit. You know me better than that David." Mathias stood as if to leave his old friend had changed and he sure as hell didnt like it. David grabbed his arm and pulled him back. Mathias tried to weakly pull free but the grip on his arm was like iron even when he intensified the struggle to be free. "Mathias this is a private league of fighters and you have been chosen. No matter what you will fight." David eyes flashed black and Mathias looked around at the other patrons in the bar. All of them had black eyes and as Mathias looked around they all had long full rows of teeth." What the ******** happened to you David. And what have you pulled me into?"

Izel was starting to get unnerved. They took this job because it was a commission, and god knew the gang could do with some money at this point. But she couldn’t help the fact that ghosts unnerved her. She was a proud fighter who has gone against beasts of the likes of trolls and werewolves. However, the ethereal quality of ghosts was enough to scare her. She was one to always engage in a hand to hand combat and the solid feeling of flesh being struck was what made her comfortable. Her current partner for the mission, Evan, had no such inhibition. He seemed to thrive off the darker side of the job. But then again, the man drove his power from shadows and the fear. How he and Bandi can be so different when they were twins was a mystery for her. “Are you getting any readings at all yet?” She asked the silver haired Evan. He shot a look at her with amusement in his startlingly grey eyes. “Come on, Izel. You’re putting your flaming red hair to shame. Shouldn’t you be all tough and spirited?” “I resent that. Why do you need to endorse stereotypes of appearance?” “Alright, I’m just kidding. No, I’m not getting any EMF readings on the machine yet.” “Why do you even need that thing any way? Aren’t you like into the occult and in tune with dark supernatural energy or something?” “Look who’s stereotyping now? Just because my powers are significantly darker than the others, doesn’t mean I’m the spawn of all darkness.” “Why didn’t we just find the corpse of the ghost and salt the bones and burn it?” Izel asked, her voice laced with annoyance at this point. “Well, first, this guy’s been dead so long, we don’t even have RECORDS of who he is. We can’t find his grave, if it even exists.” The moment he finished his sentence, the EMF reader started to beep. “Well sounds like it’s our turn at the bat.” He chuckled as stood up from his seat at the table. There was a ring of salt around them, a pair of shot guns, and a set of iron blades. Izel quickly picked up a shotgun and aimed at a source of a cold breeze. Evan on the other hand lazily picked up his scythe. The dark iron’s blade seemed to be sucking the light out of the very room. Soon the form of an old man appeared right in front of them. “Get out….” The spectre droned. “Ugh-uh. You’re the one who’s going to be leaving. See this salt ring? Can’t cross it, can you?” Izel taunted. The old man smiled and blew in their direction. A strong gust blew as he did so, and the salt chain was broken. “Oh, crap…” she muttered under her breadth. The ghost grinned at the lack of confidence in their faces and slowly approached the two of them. When the ghost was sufficiently close enough, Izel’s face broke into a grin as she cocked the reproduced Winchester 1901 Lever. “Foolish girl. I’m a spirit. The lead slugs will just-“ The rest of the sentence was cut off as he was blown away. “Rock salt, you son of b***h.” Izel smirked with another click of the lever. “Evan, now!” Evan smacked the end of his scythe on the ground, and the ground where the ghost was knocked back glowed. The old man found himself surrounded by a scarlet circle of symbols and hieroglyphs. “Drawn with the blood of a lamb. You’re not leaving now.” Evan said as he pulled out a leather bound book from a briefcase and started to read off in what seemed to be latin. “No! No-!” The ghost screamed, and as sudden as he appeared, he was gone from sight. Izel looked at the now empty circle and shrugged. “Well, that was easy.” Evan was already packing as he answered Izel. “Well we gotta have an easy day once in a while…”

The way home was silent. East wasn't a chatty guy to begin with, but it wasn't unusual to not share a single word after assignments. The sight of the drabby apartment building that they lived in wasn't quite encouraging either. With a sigh Bandi and East walked in when they ran into a young man crouched at the foot of the stairs, picking up several metal ring blades, each ranging around a diameter of 12 inches, some as small as 2 inches, one of them was not even firm in its density, but as flimsy as paper and as large as three feet wide. "I thought you were going to be in alaska? If you were going to be here, you could have come with us and give us a hand." East asked the man. He was a tall slender man, with a pale complexion that contrasted even more by his dark brown wiry hair. "I just came back as well! There wasn't any lycans in Alaska. Just false alarms. I froze my a** off for nothing." "Trust me, Kirell. We're as sorry as you are about your wild goose chase. We could have really used your help out there." "Right, can we discuss this inside? Hurry up and pick those up before the landlord see's them." With that, they quickly scrambled together to gather the remaining rings and shot up the stairs with tip toes. "I'm getting sick of having to sneak past the manager everyday like we're some kind of criminals..." Kirell complained in a hush voice. "Well, we've got five people crammed into a one bedroom apartment. Not exactly on par with the lease agreement..." And with that sentence, the door opened before them. What lied before them was a chaotic torrent of mess, laundry, dishes, not necessarily in where they belong... The sight automatically elicited a sigh from the three of them. Right then, a voice with a hint of a chinese accent emanated from the kitchen. "Hey, back so soon? I was just finishing up dinner. Would you guys clean up the table for me?" It was a very sweet motherly voice. Although Fei Song was only about 27, she had a maternal aura that made everyone comfortable. She was after all, the oldest member of the group, with the exception of the newest addition, East. This was probably why East and Fei were attracted to each other. East was the only one that didn't see Fei as a mother-figure, and the only one that Fei didn't see as someone to take care of. "Are Izel and Evan back yet?" Bandi asked as he picked up the laundry and tossed them in the hamper. "No. But they called in to let me their on their way back. I asked them to pick up some milk on the way back." The sound of the TV turning on distracted them from the conversation. "Are you watching that MMA fighting again?" Bandi asked walking up to Kirell, who had sat down on the couch and getting comfortable. "I just want to check out who's competing today. I wanna check out if Mathias Graves is back." "Well, I don't think he'll be back after what he did to his opponent in his last match." Bandi said as he patted Kirell, urging him to get up and join the cleaning.
The door of the apartment burst open, and there stood young man with silver mane and long black leather trench coat, his arm spread out regally. "Never fear, Evan is here." "Leave the ego at the door, Evan. The apartment's crowded enough as it is." Izel said as she gave him a condescending pat on the head, but with a smile that assured him she was kidding. "Yes, ma'am." Evan replied as he rolled his eyes and winked at his brother. Bandi merely replied with a warning finger, but the smirk was already playing at the end of his mouth. "Hey." Izel said and hugged Bandi. "How was your day?" She asked. "It was pretty rough, to be honest. We were too late to save a girl." He replied as he gave her a squeeze back. Izel was gave him a moment of silence, because she knew what it meant to Bandi. "Listen, I was thinking of letting Fei and East use the room for tonight and you and I can sleep on the couch together." "No, you and Fei sleep on the bed." "Come on. It's not like you and I can do anything with Evan and Kirell around. Besides, East and Fei are obviously into each other. But they need some time to themselves. Anytime they've been together, they've been surrounded by us, like some married couple." Bandi gave it a thought then nodded. "Alright, I'll break it to them after dinner." They separated and Evan was next to strike a conversation with Bandi. "Hey, we need to get better clients. I mean, ghost-busting? $200 a job, and that's IF we get a job. I mean look at the Augustine Sisters! Their reputation is sky high! And I bet their getting paid big too. We need some high stakes case. Something that'll boost our reputation to the top." "Well, the lack of a proper office isn't helping. We meet clients in Cafe's and diners. We don't have a stable basis of contact." Evan gave him a sly smile. "I've got just the case to solve both of those problems." He slapped down a tabloid with the headline on the cover that read [Haunted Mansion Tortures Townsfolk!] "Ready for a good 'ol fashioned exorcism?"

The Sisters of Augustine “So you’re telling me you have no idea who the supplier is?” A very annoyed looking blond was circling a man tied to a chair. The room was empty all but the chair, the man and the two sisters. Ray rested against the wall, cleaning her finger nails. She was rather bored with this already. If it were up to her, she would have just killed the scum, human or not. But Yunari had this thing called morals so that wasn’t happening. The man tied to the chair looked rather roughed up. He had choppy short hair , torn jeans and tattered pieces of what use to be a shirt. The blond stopped her circling and stood behind him, slowly looking up at the single light in the room. “Do you know that if that light were to go out, you would meet a monster far worse than any in this city?” The man blinked and looked up at her clearly not afraid.
With a smirk the blond lifted her hand and snapped. A small flame broke the light and darkness filled the room. “it is your turn. He obviously won’t listen to reason.” the dark haired girl smirked, though her expression was hidden by the darkness of the room. The blond moved to the other side and leaned against the wall, not wanting to get in the way. This was why they worked together, they could utilize both their specialties like this. Even in the dark the blond could see the dark almost deepen as Ray stepped out onto the mat. She raised her hand and a swirling vortex like thing formed under the man’s chair. The chair began to sink and the man began to panic as Ray’s voice filled the room.
The man could not see Ray but Yune could, probably because of their link as sisters. The woman’s eyes began to glow a dark red, Armond saw this and tried to kick and scream, falling backwards in the chair. The dark haired girl was on him in seconds, resting in the man’s lap as she tucked strands of hair behind his ear and lightly touched his nose. “If she’d let me, you know I could eat you. Digest you like the pathetic human you are. We aren’t good at our jobs for no reason. If they sent us after you, well than you’re screwed.”
From the swirling vortex little tentacles of shadow began to escape, pushing the chair up as Ray continued to sit on the man’s lap. She smiled, the two red eyes being all the man could see. “So, tell me what I want to know, or there will be no Armond Chantelle left, so what is your decision? You’re a business man. I’m sure you know the odds are stacked against you.” As if to prove her point she lifted her hand and ran it over a rather dark area of the room. A set of golden eyes appeared in that area fallowed by a feeling of hot air on the man’s face and a gooey wetness. A low growl emitted from the creature and that was all she wrote for the man began to sob in their arms and Ray sighed, rolling her eyes and everything returned to normal. Yunari lit the room, small little flames appearing in a circular pattern to show the terrified man.
“Ugh! Seriously Yune, these weak a** people are starting to cramp my style. Even that pack of werewolves last week was more fun than this. People are just too afraid of the dark these days.” the dark haired girl stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind her as she made her exit. The blond stared down at the man a strange look appearing on her face.
“ I hate scum like you. At least with monsters, some choose to be good. You humans get to be good from the start. We have to prove ourselves to be good.” She glanced behind her before sighing softly. She reached forward as the man looked ready to talk and removed the gag. That’s when he began to spill everything he knew.
“It’s beyond me. There is some big company, um Extel Pharmaceuticals. They are trying to create a race of controllable monsters.” To this the blond snickered for the company was behind the syndicated. Those people had already found how to do such a thing. Well at least with her and Ray.
“How does it work?”
“It’s a vaccination. They made some weird concoction that is mixed with the blood of creatures like werewolves and vampires. This is why there has been more monsters lately. Anyway, they told me to test it for them. So I became the middle man, dishing it out to people. The results are bad though either people die or they become over taken by the monster’s abilities creating an even stronger monster than before.” the blond rubbed her temples and rested against the wall. So they were going up against an army of super monsters? Was that what the man was trying to tell her? She sighed and let her body rest, a few of the little flames going out which seemed to freak the man out. He did not want to be left in the dark.
“It is not yet perfected. Even the super monsters it creates have a short life expectancy. At the end of the twenty four hour period they return to human form and die. That is what they are trying to fix. But for that they need stronger monster DNA. One closer to humans so that it will link better.” The blond sighed and decided to leave this man be. His people would find him in the morning but of course nothing could be that easy. She heard the cracking of bones and the ropes snapping as they were broken. The man behind her began to change, his body shifting. “Times up, I’ve been stalling to get the drug time to flow through my system… Haha now, try a bit of Wendigo. It’s the newest ..emph”
The man was stopped dead in his tracks as the blond’s hand went and latched over his face in his mid transformation. She turned her head, blue eyes glowing slightly as she stared at him with a rather cold expression. The flames around the room shot up, growing at least a foot tall each as they lashed about violently. “No, it is you who should taste the bite of a monster. We are not creatures to be duplicated.” She sighed and lowered her head a silent prayer escaping her lips. She did, after all, life at a church it would be strange not to pray for his soul. From her hand erupted a massive flame and the creature began to burn. He would most likely return to human form and many would think she killed a human but she and the almighty knew the truth and for that she didn’t care. As the man became still and lifeless she dropped him to the floor and turned. “You are purified. May your soul find eternal rest.”
She left the room, her eyes wincing as they adjusted to the light. She picked up her back which had been resting outside and was soon joined by her sister. Ray shook her head and looked at the blond with a sad expression. “Why do you do that?”
“do what?” The blond returned wit ha tone that said that she wasn’t going to answer. The raven haired girl just sighed and continued to walk beside her sister. It was always like this, and even in the end the one who did the worst deeds was the blond, almost like she was protecting the darker girl from harm. She would never understand it.
The two made one stop, passing off information and receiving a rather large looking brown envelope. This was given to Ray who smiled deviously. “Come on! Let’s go get a bite to eat. I mean seriously after chasing that idiot around all day I’m starved!” Ray grabbed the blond and ruffled her hair a bit before walking a bit faster. The blond smiled softly and they made their way to a small mom and pop diner. They picked out a rather large booth and Yune tossed her bag into the seat. She sat down beside it and began to read the menu. Ray on the other hand plopped down and spread her body out sighing in pleasure. She picked up the paper and began to glance over it. There were a few interesting stories and something about a haunted house but she was sure Yune would not want to go.
Food was ordered and she closed the paper. Then for the first time in a while the two just had a normal conversation. One about normal things like bills and church and yes even men.

The mansion was old and worn. The title of a "mansion" was only a vestige of what was left of the past glory of the building. Wild grass were growing tall in the perimeter, grime setting in the fountains, and even the walls were crumbling on sections that were roped off from the rest. A single moldy paper dangled on the rope, with the word "caution" scratched in rough handwriting. It was a disgusting, old, and dilapidated building. But if there was one upside to it, it was that it was huge. There were more rooms than a single family unit could possibly fill and various other rooms that served other purposes, such as a library, ball room, and even a smoking room. It was abandoned due to the massive haunting of the place, and the city was having problems with it when the ghosts grew so powerful that they were no longer bound to the building. It was an impossible notion for a spirit to leave its domain. It was common sense that ghosts were rooted in their domain of haunting. As it was later discovered, the previous owner of the mansion had at least partial ownership in many part of the town. With the walls crumbled down, the technicality enabled the more powerful population of the ghosts to wreak havoc on the surrounding area.
"You know, it still doesn't make sense. Partial ownership? Broken boundaries? It still seems a bit far fetched." East muttered as he faced the enormous iron gates of the mansion. They were sitting in a booth of a local diner going over their research of the haunted mansion. "Hey trust me. I looked into it. It's totally possible. There are a number of different artifacts that act as amplifiers for spiritual beings. We've seen this happen before at the Firefly Investigations." Evan assured East and sucked on his milkshake. Kirell was excitedly scooping into his banana-split. "And what are we getting out of this job?" Evan paused for effect and slowly leaned his body forward, which prompted the others to do so as well. "The mansion itself." There was, as expected, a storm of excited murmuring "Yes, ladies and gentlemen. We are getting our own rooms and even each of our own studies! And, of course, an office to welcome clients. All we're missing is a butler. Our operation is about to increase tenfold." As he finished this sentence, he leaned back significantly, and in the the light, unlike his "twin" Bandi, Evan was so extremely pale that East was wondering whether he was a ghost himself. East, who was always curious about how Evan and Bandi could be so different (appearance, personality, and even ethnicity!) if they were twins, had to ask the question. "Explain to me how you and Bandi are twins again?" "Well, technically, we're not. We were in one body, but there were two souls embodied in it. It's very common, actually. It's just often written off as Dissociative Identity Disorder." "Dissociate identity what?" "You're probably more familiar with it as the multiple personality disorder. But anyway, Bandi and I were born that way, but unfortunately both of our souls had distinct supernatural auras. Now THAT is rare. It's usually one of the souls, or none at all. But we were stuck with two. And to make things worse, we were two souls of two incompatible energies. His was of positive origin, and mine was more akin to the dark arts. We would eventually erode each other's spiritual energies. So they were told any way. So they did something pretty drastic. And disgusting. There was a infant who died during childbirth. So they split our two souls and stuck me in the dead one." East was at a loss of words. The idea sounded positively gruesome and horrible. He couldn't even imagine how Evan must feel about it. "Yeah, pretty horrid, huh? Apparently it was only possible because my energy was similar to necromancers and dark magicians. That's why I'm good with the dead and the undead." East tried to find something to say, but Izel shook her head behind Evan for East to see. Her message was clear. There's no words to make him feel better. Just don't say anything. Bandi was the one who saved the crowd from an awkward silence as he entered the diner, brought up a chair to the booth, and placed a vial full of black thick liquid. "Ectoplasm. The color and the viscous nature is enough to tell you we're not dealing with our average Scooby Doo material." Everyone was quick enough to give their undivided attention to Bandi as he presented his analysis. "There's a whole crowd of them here. It seems the owner was really into the occults, and had a huge collection of dark artifacts. And I noticed a lot of dark symbols throughout the town in buildings, statues, etc. I'm guessing that's also what enables the ghosts to roam freely. I'm gonna need a team to go around and destroy them. You don't have to break them or anything. Just make another scratch or anything to compromise it. Mystic symbols need to be precise to work. Izel, Kirell, you two do that. The rest of us will exterminate the house while the two start closing in on their possible haunting territory." Bandi was momentarily cut off at the sight of two girls, possibly sisters, judging from the resemblance. Apparently Evan had noticed them too. His jaw was slightly drooping at the sight of their entrance. "Is that girl really holding that bag up by one hand?" He asked incredulously, and the rest of the crowd conspicuously turned their heads as well as the blond one of the group merely tossed the heavy looking bag with a simple whoosh. It was Fei who finally told everyone that it was rude to stare and got everyone's attention back. "Hey, you think their vamp slayers? The silver cross and the gothic dress?" Kirell asked in hushed tones. "That's stereotyping, Kirell. I'm a vamp slayer, but I don't have a cross, and I'm wearing a brown leather jacket." East advised. "Whoever they are, they're definitely supernaturalists like us." Bandi concluded. "Now let's extend some professional courtesy and give them some privacy. We got a job of our own soon." "Yeah... Courtesy..." Evan repeated, but his eyes were still shifting back and fourth.

The Sisters of Augustine Yune bowed her head as her tea arrived. She said a few words, grabbing her cross and then smiling. While she was not eating she did drink the rather hot liquid. It calmed her down and she stared off into the distance. “We have to get out of this business.” She spoke. Her voice rather hushed though she was sure no one was close enough to hear her. Blue orbs drifted over to see a rather large group but she didn’t let her eyes last long for she could see one of them shifting his gaze back and forth. She didn’t like that. A plate numerous things was placed before Ray. This included a few vegetables but mostly meat like a steak and a few ribs. Why did they go out in public like this? Well rather simple no one who had crossed their paths had lived to tell the tale. They were monster hunters and received all their orders from the syndicate. That meant that the clients never saw their faces. They just knew that they were women from the name.
But not that that was something to dwell on. Yune watched Ray devour her food, somehow maintaining a rather impressively clean face as she did so. The blond began to wonder if her sister had a black hole for a mouth along with her strange shadow abilities. She tapped the side of her cup and glanced down at the paper her sister had gotten. “Haunting huh? No doubt you want to go.” Red eyes glanced up and she knew that she was right. The blond gave a little nod and sighed softly. “Very well. We can go. Our job is done and we don’t have another one yet so there is no harm in sight seeing.” The blond stood and excused herself form the table, making a trip to the restroom to clean up. She always felt dirty after a fight, even if it was with a malicious creature. The dark haired girl finished her food in record time, standing as well. She stretched out her body, hearing a satisfying crack as her back set.
The woman walked over to the counter and paid for their things. While there she had a small conversation with the man behind the counter, obviously flirting. Behind her a man began to approach their bag. His fingers wrapped around the handle and gave a mighty heave but the bag would not budge. Both hands clasped now and he gave another pull but nothing. It was about this time that the blond returned and without warning she gave a smack to the back of the man’s head which sent him falling into their table and Ray’s empty plates. The blond shook her head and grabbed the bag, hoisting it over her shoulder with ease.
“Pilfering creature. Know your place. The dark haired girl turned her head to speak to the man who was obviously confused. Red eyes glanced over towards the group from earlier. She smiled a bit, having noticed the one obviously looking between the two groups. She cast him a wink, being playful as always before she rejoined her sister. “Lets head out.”
“Um Miss… ?” Yunari stopped and shuffled through her pockets, finding the brown envelope and pulling out a few bills. She placed them on the counter in front of him and bowed her head.
“ I apologize for the mess. I hope that will cover the price of… clean up. Please do keep the change.” She bowed her head once more before leading her sister outside. She glanced to her sister and they shared a silent moment before glancing down at Ray’s hands. The paper had materialized in her hand in a shadowy poof, and while no one outside seemed to notice she still didn’t like the fact that the girl used her power out in the open like that. She sent a scolding look but Ray just shrugged it off. “So where is this place?”
Ray turned and pointed a smile on her face. But that was not the plan. She grabbed Yunari, while her attention was drawn away and pulled her into an alley. With a quick glance around the dark haired girl pulled her sister into a shadow and they vanished from the area. When they surfaced outside the rather spooky looking house Yunari was gasping for breath and she bit down hard on her lip, slugging her sister in the shoulder with an angered look. “Damn it Ray! You know I hate that!” she took her time to breath and then straightened her pose. She looked at the house and then sighed softly. This was not her kind of thing. She looked at the house and then back at Ray.
The blond turned and looked at the gate before walking away from her sister and sitting beside the gate. “go on have fun. You know I hate these kinds of jobs. I’ll just purify the grounds when you’re done." The raven haired sister jumped and clapped with joy. She had been surprised that Yune agreed to come along let alone got this far. So even though the girl wasn’t coming with her, she felt a sense of ease. With a mock solute the girl vanished from the blond’s sight, most likely finding her own entrance into the building. Yunari fell to the ground and let her bag drop as well. Ray would surely be fine, if not then she could slip out using her powers.
With a mighty yawn the blond closed her blue orbs and allowed a light sleep to take her. Around her body appeared an invisible barrier, when a dark spirit or such attempted to touch her it was knocked back. Lesser creatures would be killed while stronger ones would simply be warded away.

Mathias sat tied to a chair his face riddled with bruises his facial hair ripped from his face leaving bloody patches all over his face and neck. " What the f*ck do you people want with me?" Mathias ripped one of his arms free and two vampires rushed to restrain his arm once again. One of the vampires smiled and punched him again in the face. Mathias only wiped his head back around and head butted the vampire in the jaw busting the Vampires lip. " If I get free I am beating you to death first." The vampire raised his fist to strike him again but David grabbed the vampires wrist and held it tightly. " Our master would be very angry if his top prospective fighter was killed before he was put in the ring." With a twist the vampires wrist snapped and David released him. " And Mathias." David wiped his hand across Mathias's bloody face and licked his palm clean of the blood. " You need to eat better your blood tastes disgusting." David punched Mathias in the stomach causing Mathias to spit up blood. "See it tastes so damn nasty." David circled around Mathias." Well despite your nasty tasting blood your still the kid I trained to fight. I am sorry your being treated like this but we are all effected by the master when we are this close to him and he isnt a forgiving man." David escorted the two vampire guards outside of the room and came back in with a tray of syringes on a cart. " You see my master has come up with a way to make humans more vampire like without transforming them by bite. You make a mixture of vampire blood and venom mixed with holy water, cypress tree shavings and a few other things and you get temporary vampires. Controllable, strong, resistant to light and just as blood thirsty as a newly made starved vampire. They make the best caged fighters. When we perfected the serum I immediately thought of you. Be glad we perfected it. The others turned into vampires and went completely insane. They really couldn't contend with the silver shavings coursing through their veins. Some clawed their eyes out. But we perfected the serum and you along with several other fighters were chosen to entertain our master and many other masters that have come to watch." David smiled." I thought of you because when you win you get to become a vampire. You are rewarded with becoming one of us. The master makes you like his own son. You will never again have to worry about anything you will be free free from the human world free from all human limitations even death. And you will get to do what you like to do best. Shed blood in fountains. I knew you were perfect because you loved bathing in blood even before I met you. I simply taught you how to shed it." Mathias struggled even more straining at the ropes as David began testing the syringes making sure there wasnt any air inside that would kill Mathias upon injection. Mathias pulled and strained rocking the chair pulling at the ropes making a loud thud sound as the rope was pulled tight every time he tried to get free. Suddenly the ropes gave way and Mathias sprang at David, David turned as if this was an every day thing grabbing Mathias by the throat and holding him tightly up off the ground inserting the syringe into his neck and dropping him to the floor."Just take it easy. You wont be fighting me take all this rage out on your opponent. Remember if you kill him. You get to kill again and again."

Mathias's eyes shot open wide and blood shot a burning thirst growing in his throat only seconds after waking and the thirst for blood was almost over powering but as he smelled his opponent. Mathias looked into the blackened eyes of his opponent and fought simply lunging for the mans throat this man wanted the same thing but the human blood pulsing through his veins screamed out to Mathias deafening him to all other sounds but the beat of the mans heart and the rush of blood to each muscle making it move making it react as Mathias went on the attack. Mathias rushed the man faster than the just as drugged fighter could predict. Something about him was different and as the master watched he could tell this was going to be over very quickly. The Master sat watching in his private box over looking the arena several other masters boxes on the same level. Each master with their own fighter they would throw into the ring and now you could see from the start the worried look of one master on the far side of the arena. The master of David and now Mathias watched as the master of the fighter going in against Mathias was getting worried as his fighter was reacting badly to the drug. Leaning to David the masters face spread into a wide fang exposing smile. " Next time we find a better fighter for your boy. Or at least not such an as easy victim." David nodded smiled " I am glad you like him my master." Mathias leapt up off the mat and smashed his knee into the side of the skull of his opponent and landed on the opposite side of him standing quickly he spun and dived ontop of his opponent flipping him over and pulling his arms back into a submission hold but a quick jerk and twist of his body the fighter went to grapple with Mathias but both flung each other back and with a kick to the face from Mathias his opponent crashed to the floor in a heap his face smashed in in the shape of Mathias's foot. Mathias looked to the master and a nod from the master Mathias lunged down on the dying man ripping open his throat blood spraying all over Mathias's chest forming a large pool around his knees as he more ripped into the throat other than bitting into it.

The Sisters of Augustine One the inside of the mansion, Ray explored rather diligently. Shadows fallowed behind her, soft whispers telling her that she was not alone. It was dark, she shone no light, for she didn’t need it to see. But her eyes began to glow a bright red and a few of the lesser creatures backed off. She came to a rather large room, a bedroom from the looks of it. The bed was a rather nice, a bit dusty but nice. Slowly the girl moved over and sat down, a loud creaking sound announced her presence and she heard a few snickers. The girl smirked and she lifted her hands.
“You think you’re big and bad. You are in my domain.” Her voice was rather quiet but demanding and a few spirits were sucked into the room. They were weaker beings, only able to hold a ball like soul shape. She lifted her had out and watched the soul began to dance around her arm. “There. There. Haunting is bad you know.” She cast a small smile which was hardly visible in the soft glow of the soul’s light.
The dark haired girl fell back on the bed and let out a soft sigh. She felt like she was home. Surrounded by the dead and spirits she felt the safest in the world, as strange as that was. She closed her eyes and allowed her mind to drift slightly. The creatures swarmed around her, touching her face and hair but not hurting her. They seemed fascinated that she wasn’t there to kill them. Even spirits wanted peace. She was out to kill monsters that hurt people but what she found about spirits were that they were just misunderstood.
Of course she had also not stumbled upon the more darker themes of this house, no she had just ventured into the ghosts who seemed to like the raven haired woman. She let out a soft sound and things around the room began to move. The blankets were pulled up to cover her body and the drapes from the window closed as did the door. They were helping her have a good rest.
A chime woke the blond from her slumber. She opened an eye and removed the phone from her pocket. She flicked it open and answered softly “Yes?”
“New orders. You are to use your past, yes we know that, to gain entrance to the underground fighting world. The information you sent us has led us to believe that the pure strand of the drug we have been looking for is there. Leave immediately.” The blond hung up the phone as she heard the dial tone telling her they had hung up. New orders huh. She pushed up her body and looked down at her bag. She gave it a light kick to hide it in the bushes and then turned her head to the side.
She didn’t know if she wanted to be excited or not She wanted to fight, it had been a long time. She quickly dialed a number on her phone and when she heard the hello. “Get me a fight. I’ll be there shortly.” A strange glow came from her eyes before her entire body erupted into flames and she vanished.
_______________
When she reappeared she was outside a beat up old building. She entered and was greeted by her old handler. The man handed her a stack of bills and she gave a soft nod. This was a world she hadn’t been in for a very long time. She closed her eyes and took a slow breath before entering the stairway leading down to where the fights were held. Her eyes cast down to a rather bloody sight. A man, she had seen that man before but she couldn’t place her finger on where.
She lowered her head in prayer for the dead before making her way down. She was gather attention fast though, her long black dress and silver cross a dead give away for who she was, ah yes she had dressed like this even then. So as she approached the announcer she slammed her hand down against his chest, the money landing tightly against him. He took a step back and she lifted her other hand and pointed at the bloody mess and the lone standing man.
“ I wish to challenge that man.” The announcer looked at her with a strange expression before a broad grin came to his lips.
“ A special treat tonight boys and girls. A long time absent fighter from the days of old! Everybody we have the chaos goddess herself, Eris! She wishes to tango with the champion of the last fight.” Yunari walked down, stopping outside the cage. She stared at the bloodies man and then smiled slightly.
The announcer continued to speak of her past, how she used to fight as a regular for them many years ago. She entered the cage, shutting the door behind her and looking at the bloody man.
“come play with me.”

Mathias roared at the woman blood covering his mouth and chest fangs bared his eyes black and red streaked more black than red but up close the streaks were visible. Mathias's master had seen the red streaks and could tell Mathias wasn't purely human something buried deep inside of him was more monstrous. The master turned to David." Who is that woman. I thought there was going to be four fights tonight. Not five of them. Something wasnt completely right with Mathias and as he got closer and closer to her he began sniffing her inspecting her. She wasnt human but blood still pumped through her veins she was like another raw piece of flesh dangled in-front of his face. Mathias jumped high trying to simply jump on top of her crush her and drink the blood from her smashed corpse. He was losing more and more of his technique just hunger the lust for blood more intense every second.

Yunari Augustine
The blond shook her head as the male came at her. He had no human senses, but she could smell something from him. He was human, or at least use to be. She wasn’t quite sure how to deal with that but she found that she could not kill this man. If he was human, if he had come in contact with that drug it had to ware off sooner or later right? She just had to ware him down right? She shifted her body to the side, dodging his animalistic movements. She had no weapon and did not intend to use her powers, after all she was suppose to be on a job.
She turned her body as he landed and slammed her arm back. She was aiming for the back of his neck. It was clear by her movements that she was a trained fighter. In the background she could hear the announcer speak of her past fight, the last one. She had walked away from a fight. She was suppose to kill the man but she turned it down and walked out. It was her only recorded loss. Her blond air flowed behind her as her felt her feet land into the ground.
This man was an animal but as much as she wanted to fight with him, she wanted to save him. Her expression slowly changed from one of a more peaceful woman to a slightly distorted version. Her eyes shifted, becoming partially closed and a smile was placed on her lips. The scent of blood was strong but nothing compared to what she had seen Ray do.
