Silk: *having gathered an abundance of fluffing and other bedding material's for her nest, Silk found it now necessary to collect a healthy amount of food for storage. Her current bounty was slowly starting to decrease with the fewer trips she made out due to a few recent fights that'd broken out near her home. But she had to get to it eventually. And so she scampered along the damp floor of the pet shop, ears swiveled to an alert state, pausing from time to time to scout, nose constantly twitching, before reaching one of the long aisles of various foods*

Brown spots: Brown Spots peered out cautiously from behind a bag of food. Having only left her cage for the first time several hours ago in search of food, she had no way to know a friend from foe. For now, she resigned herself to observation. Maybe if she watched, this mysterious mouse would give away her intentions.

Lab lumbered aimlessly down the other end of the aisle, his white fur showing up quite well against the floors covered in mud. He really had no idea of where he was going but he knew he was a hungy.

Lab was as imple rat with simple needs.... And in this case his need was food. Somewhere down this long path was food, and he was determined to find it.

It wasn't until he was fairly close that he saw the other rat coming down the other end of the hall. Lab froze. He wasn't too sure about other rats. The only ones he knew anything about were in his cage and they were gone.... Even his princess was gone. And thins was a stranger.

Brown Spots hears paw steps coming from behind her, she quietly moved to the other side of the dog food bag she used to hide her presence. Another rat was coming down the aisle. She began to panic. "what are these strange rats here to do? Could they know I'm here?" She decided to move back and stop spying, hiding her whole body with the bag, but as she did so, she brushed the bag, causing a crumpling sound possibly giving away her presence. Brown Spots nerves where on edge, as she waited to be discovered.

Silk: *she sniffed at a few bags, boxes, and cans that were passed by, but finding none all too interesting. Many were opened, but just as many were still sealed up. At the current moment, something hardy and preservative was on her highest priority list. Something she could keep for awhile to come. Grains were good for that, but they were also not all entirely filling for a rat of her size. As she continued to search, her nose twitched frantically upon picking up on pungent, fresh scents of others. Pausing in her searching, she hiked onto her hind quarters to peer about, instantly spotting the female, as well as the male. Sniffing towards them, she approached casually, steps hitching from time to time to show she meant no harm or aggression* Good evening~

Brown spots waited a moment heart pounding. The females paw steps came closer. Her nerves got the better of her, she had to know if she had been found. All at once, she poked her head out, and immediately locked eyes with the approaching female. A high pitched squeak escaped her mouth as she ducked her head back under cover.

Lab rose up onto his hindquarters and sniffed. He was a chunky rat... Big but with nothing else very much special about him. He was watching as the one female popped her head out from a shelf. He had been so intent on the first female he hadn't even noticed the second. Now he sniffed the air before coming forward slowly, with even more halting than the other mouse.

"Good evening." He said, coming a fair amount closer. "You don't need to hide. I don't wanna fight no one. I'm jus' lookin' for some food."

Silk: *her ears flipped straight up as the other female squeaked, lifting her head up as well. She was surprised by the reaction given, but remained calm, simply sniffing daintily.* no need to be frightened~ *she spoke softly, keeping at her current placement. No reason to approach if this rat was uneasy of her mere presence. As the male waltzed over, she gave a sniff towards him as well, before falling into a small grooming session along her snout and swiping a paw over her ear* As am I~

Brown Spots looked out once more. Her brown fuzzy face in an expression of deep distress, and her chest pulsing with each heavy breath. She stared fixated on Lab, as if trying to discern his true intentions. Her breath calmed and her expression mellowed and just as it seemed she was about to step forward, she doubled back to the other side. From behind her bag of dog food, she shouted in a quiet faltering tone, "Pl.... Please leave me alone. Both of you!"

Lab wandered up close uncaring, or perhaps simply unaware of the third rat's panic. It was hard to say what was or wasn't deliberate ignorance with him. "My name's Lab. Maybe we can all find food t'gether." He walked straight up to where the third female was hiding, and blithely shoved his huge face in after her.
"Won't you come out from back there?" His voice was deep, but soft. A simple voice. "We're all hungry and if we stick together we can find food." This time it was pretty clear that he simply did not realize that his big frame was blocking the only way out.

Silk: *watching the frightened female, red eyes blinked curiously. Perhaps this one had endured some sort of grave hardship to make her so fearful towards Silk and the unknown male... But upon watching Lab intently, he didn't seem to possess much aggression in his saunter, nor his actions... perhaps a bit forward, but nothing more than that.* I'll leave you be if you'd like, miss, but he is right. It is easier to find food together rather than alone. *she paused, glancing at what was around them* suitable food.. *some of the open containers were starting to spoil..*

Brown Spots recoiled from the big white rat. Frightened by his mass, she quickly began to scratch at the bag beside her. In seconds, several bits of kibble poured out of the bag. "The... There. All the food you need... just... just... don't hurt me!" She closed her eyes and cowered, still worrying over the intentions of the big mouse.

"Oh! How kind of you... Thanks!" Lab said, shoving his whole face in opening in the bag for a moment, tearing it even wider. There was a great deal or rustling and crunching before he finally pulled his face out, it being covered in crumbs and his mouth filled with so much food he could barely chew. Kibble spilt everywhere after him and poured out, somewhat replacing his own mass between the poor spotted mouse and the rest of the store. Lab twitched his whiskers at the mouse in the back of the shelf and tried to speak through his full mouth. Somehow he managed to form some muffled and garbled words. "You're nice. I like you."

Brown Spots moved her hand slowly revealing her face. She was shocked. Somehow she expected some act of aggression from the large white mouse who called himself Lab. "You... Really didn't want to...." Thinking back, there really wan't any sign he was going to do anything malicious. Brown blush beneath her thick fur. She sat up properly, no longer frightened. "And... Your friend out there... She doesn't want to..... Either..."

Lab gained a very peaceful look on his face as he chewed his giant mouth full of food. His soft, red eyes fixed on the brown spotted mouse. When the the first female was mentioned he turned those eyes on her and swallowed his food.
He looked back at the brown mouse. "Actually. I dunno. I've never met many other rats before. Just my theutak and the other je who lived with us."
His paws twitched over his whiskers gathering the crumbs before licking off and devouring those too.

Brown Spots looked down at her paws and smiled. "I'd like that... Lab. I... My name is Brown Spots." That was a thought that pleased her, having friends in this unfamiliar world. She looked back up at the female in the distance. "Yes... Come eat with us."
