   ≈≈≈≈≈Car horns. Street lights. Houses. Crowds of people. That is what a normal city is like. People walking or driving or riding to their destinations in or out of the city. Beyond this city sits a beautiful ocean that full of fish, coral and...merfolk? Hidden deep under the ocean out of the sight of humans is a small city of it's own where the merfolk live just like the humans above the water. Most of the merfolk that you notice here, however, are female. There are men but they were more female then most would think. A mermaid looked at her young son knowing he was very different then the others swam with him to the surface. She kissed his head then watched him vanish onto the surface calling out that he may return every now and then but must not stay long the place he once called home. That was 10 years ago...≈≈≈≈≈≈Lear Kai lived out his live like any normal teen and managed to get into school. He was taken in by a family that lived near the ocean that knew his 'detail' and were alright with it. He lived a happy normal life making a lot of friends. He always had a feeling he was different, being mistaken by a girl for his slender figure and calming voice. His mother had told him to be care for when he turns 18. There would be a few things happening to him that would 'draw' people towards him. He knew this but he didn't know how car it would go.≈[x] is a good friend of Lear's and thought he knew his best friend like the back of his hand. He thought it was strange that he would never go swimming with him but he shrugged it off. On day he comes over to his house unannounced and finally sees something that he never thought...his friend having a tail. After that day he notices that the closer it get's to Lear's birthday the strong the 'pull' he feels to be closer to him.≈This Rp starts 1 week before Lear's 18th birthday...and [x] can find out anytime during that week. On and after the 18th birthday is when the feeling should surface more and grow. Though I'm willing to switch it up...this is just how I see it flowing.≈

The bell rang loudly as people rush past laughing loudly as a small yawn echoed out slowly. Lear ran his hand through his hair slowly as he shut his locker marking off his calender in his locker. "One week from this Friday...I will be 18," he said with a small smile on his face. He shut his locker and pulled his bag on as he started walking out of the school. He scratched at his arms seeing his skin starting to peal slowly as he sighed a little as he looked around.
After some time he finally got home as he pulled off his shirt and put his bag onto his beg. He waved at his parents as he headed out to the ocean outside of his house. He took in the smell of the air as he smiled a little always loving the ocean. He walked along the beach for a moment then jumped out onto a rock out in the water sitting down on it. He let the water brush over his legs just getting the feel of it as he relaxed for a moment.

He saw Kai go to his home. "Ah beachside. Lovely property I must say." He said as he walked to the door. He sighed to himself and knocked on the door. He saw Kai's dad answer the door. "Hi, can I speak to Kai. Tell him it's Jakob from school." He said as if it actually mattered.

"Oh...Hello Jakob....I'm sorry abut Lear isn't home right now. He will be back in a little while though," Lear's father said as he looked down at the boy. Lear smiled wildly as he finally took his chance and dove into the water. He felt his body shift back to normal as he giggled staying underwater and out of sight. "This is so nice!" he giggled as he swum back up finding his rock. He leaned himself over as he kept his 'legs' in the water smiling in happiness always loving the water.

He waited for the dad's response paitently then nodded. "Tell him that our Phys Ed coach said we'd be in the pool for me when he comes home, please and thank you."

Jakob Nenharma He nodded then started heading home when he heard Lear's laughter. He ran around to the beach side of the house and waves at Lear. "Lear, hey. I was wondering, you wanna buddy up and go to prom?" He asked, hoping Lear would offer to let Jakob swim with him. It was still a bit of a walk to his house and he wanted to cool off before that walk home.
