This office lies in a tower of its own, and is reached by means of a circular stone staircase, guarded by a gargoyle who will step aside in response to the correct password. The room itself contains multiple tall tables and shelves with intricate silver devices upon them, though everything appears to have a place. The Sorting Hat rests on the top shelf of a bookcase near the back of the room. The walls are lined in books, all of which are incredibly well-kept. Behind Ithilwen's grand, dark wood desk hangs a large portrait of the previous Headmistress of Hogwarts.
