Strengths: Extremely talented with Ninjutsu and Kenjutsu(Sword techniques), Not the best in the world with stealth tactics, which becomes a distinct(If not strange) advantage that allows him to divert enemy attention to a place he has already fled from. Can use Senjutsu, and access Sage Mode.
Weaknesses: Bloody awful sense of smell, and useless with projectile weapons. Has a hard time fighting at long distances. Has a hard time controlling his Summons.

Awakening:
The eyes appear bloodshot, musclemass increases slightly, and the kanji for speed(速度) appear on the palms(The first on the left, second on the right). Both appear over the heart, as well. Adrenaline is pumped through the body, sending it into one long fight-or-flight response, and granting increased reaction speed. Prolonged use and frequent use usually results in addiction to adrenaline... It is quite common for the elders of the clan to be addicts, as by the time a Shinobi of the clan retires, especially if they make it into the upper ranks, they will have used the technique quite a few times.
Experienced:
The kanji for Respond(共感) appear over the external jugular veins on either side of the neck(First on the left, second on the right), the heart beats faster(circulating the adrenaline faster), and hand seals can be preformed twice as fast. These effects are added on top of the initial Awakening's effect. At this level, the user begins to shake and twitch slightly.
Advanced:
The flow of Chakra throughout the body becomes twice as intense, effectively doubling the speed at which techniques can be charged off and/or fired, and the user gains a slight increase to their field of view. The twitching becomes worse at this level. Far worse. There is a chance to pass out after use in extreme cases, usually more common when the user keeps the stage active for prolonged periods. There is an extremely small chance that at this level, if left released too long, the user's heart could give out. The speeds reached can also be quite strenuous, resulting in broken bones, occasionally. All of these effects are added on top of the first two levels' effects.
Mastered:
Effects similar to opening the Gate of Death. Extreme movement speed(Up to 100 MPH) and reaction speed increase, Chakra flows 10x faster, and the heart begins beating extremely fast. The kanji for Final(最後の) appear on the forehead. At this point, there's usually much more adrenaline in the body than blood. Death is guaranteed (without exception) if this level is released, as after a few minutes, the strain on the heart becomes too much... And it usually either explodes or just stops beating. The user becomes extremely shaky at this level, to the point that it looks like a seizure, or a series of violent muscle spasms. All of these effects are added on top of the first three levels' effects.

Kekkei Genkai Techniques:
Untouchable Assassination- Uses Speed Release to slash a target to pieces with great speed, then to dodge and weave through projectiles. Used in situations where the mark is heavily guarded.
Stabilizing Speed--uses extra Chakra to lessen the twitching effect of Speed Release, at the cost of some of the speed the user would otherwise have. At the Awakening level, it completely overrides the twitch. Used to enter Sage Mode and Speed Release simultaneously.

Sword Barrage, Vacuum sword
Sword of Blue Flame--Fire engulfs the blade of Kurikara, burning blue with intensity, which then proceeds to spread to anyone unlucky enough to find themselves on the receiving end.
Sword of White Lightning--Lightning engulfs the blade of Kurikara, shining white with energy, which then proceeds to spread to anyone on the receiving end--or the sending end, so to speak. The high current passing through the sword also travels through the guard and hilt, and does so in such a random, unpredictable manner that it can't be redirected away from the hilt very easily, making it nigh-impossible to hold the weapon while using the technique.
Sword of Clear Waters--Water engulfs the blade of Kurikara, purified by the Chakra holding it to the blade. The water can then be stabilized into a rather firm shape, making the sword's reach longer. The technique can also be used to gather water from nearby sources and store it in a bottle or a canteen. The downside to the technique is that it doesn't create water, it pulls it in towards the blade.
Sword of Sage's Strength--pure, flowing Chakra is collected around the blade, increasing its destructive potential and allowing it to cut deeper, and cleaner. (Only usable in Sage Mode)

Background Information: Ookami would dream of becoming one of the Seven Swordsman of the Mist when he was a youngling. From the time he joined the Academy to the time he started the Chunin exams, he would practice with a wooden sword every night, some nights until his hands would bleed. Upon entering the second part of the exams, his father, Issoku Tsurubeuchi, gave him a real blade. He told him he'd seen him practising, and said he would make a fine swordsman one day. Sadly, he never realized his childhood dream. Not long before he was going to become a Jonin, he was asked to become an ANBU. He hasn't looked back on the decision since, but an observant eye can spot a twinge of sadness creep into his expression whenever the Seven Swordsman of the Mist are mentioned.
