Full Name: Amaya Kaori Raikou
Nickname: Amaya, or Mad Scientist
Age: 489
Appears to be: early 20s
Number: Primera
Gender: Female
Sexual Orientation: Mainly Straight but she might go Bi curious
Height: 5’9
Weight: 136 lbs
Wardrobe: Amaya wears the basic arrancar colors, with her shirt having short sleeves and an open back. Most of the time she wears a bleached long coat, and most of the time will wear her sword across her back although on occasion it will switch which shoulder it is over.
Physical Appearance: Amaya is tall and thin. Her dark hair is worn long and straight, and in battle she will tie it back. Her eyes are blue although they shift shades depending on her mood and the weather outside, ranging from deep sapphire to electric blue.
Mask Remnant: The remnant of her hollow mask is a curious piece of bone that resembles several feathers overlapping just below her hairline on the back of her neck. It covers the majority of the back of her neck although it is often hidden under her coat and her hair.
Numero Location: N/A
Hollow Hole Location: Her hollow hole is located between her spine and shoulder blade on the left side.
Personality: Amaya is generally a laid back person, although she is known to do things on a spur of the moment whim and can change her mind at any given moment. It is usually hard to make her mad although there will be quick flashes of temper. These flashes are best to be avoided since they usually follow the pattern of her being happy, hitting whatever annoyed her with enough power to bring down a small building, and going back to happy as if nothing happened. Amaya enjoys sleeping, and most of her flashes of temper happen when someone wakes her up without good reason. She loves fights, but will hold back as long as possible, and has been known to refuse to draw her sword and only fight hand to hand. If she acknowledges her opponent as a good fighter, someone with potential, or interesting, it is distinctly possible that she will try not to permanently injure them, and if they really catch her interest, after the fight she may help them. Of course, on that same token she might also save you to run an experiment on. She prefers to be a polite person, as well as honorable. If she can she won’t break a promise, little matter who or what to.
Flaws:Claustrophobic. This is most prominent when she is somewhere with no windows, or any other way to see the sky
Personal Skill: Science
Favorite Food: Fruit, hamburgers, fries, and steak
Favorite Drink: Tea (in all its forms but chai)
Least Favorite Food: Soy, onions, crackers
Likes: She has a love of the sky, sunsets, sunrises, and is at her happiest during a storm. She enjoys most animals, specifically birds and wolves. She also enjoys fighting, training, and experimenting
Dislikes: paperwork, monkeys, and those who stop working to better themselves because they think there is nothing left to work on.
Hates: Chai Tea, Energy Drinks (Her general reaction when offered an energy drink is to say ‘go get hit by lightning’ This does not mean anything negative like ‘go jump off a cliff’. It is her belief that energy drinks are useless and that getting hit by lightning will give you a lot more energy. Usually it doesn’t occur to her that most people don’t handle getting hit by lightning well.)

Cero: Amaya’s cero has been mastered for speed. She has not bothered to learn bala as her Cero is only a fraction slower and far more powerful. It is a deep blue color and is fried from the first two fingers of either hand.
Techniques:
Zanjutusu: Master with ōdachi and twin styles
Sonido: Master
Zanzō (Afterimage)– A certain style of Sonido changes the steps ever so slightly, allowing the user to create a clone of themselves. Currently Amaya is only able to create one clone.
Hansha (Reflection) – One of the first things that Amaya discovered as an Arrancar. Taking either end of her sword she is able to separate it into two identical swords that look much like her original ōdachi without the feather and at about half the length.
Pesquisa – She has mastered Pesquisa, and often uses it instinctively. For her it works like sonar, and the average range is about 70 feet in all directions. She can tell vaguely what level they are, such as she can tell the difference between a regular shinigami and a captain, but her specialty is in telling where exactly where the core of the power is.
Amaya’s Hierro is a little below average when in her human form. Her fighting style tends to rely more on speed and agility so this small flaw is mainly unnoticed. In her released form however her Hierro becomes far stronger, able to handle a sword barehanded.
Garganta
Motto: "Never stop asking, never stop learning."
Battle Strength:
• Intelligence (Including the knowledge of her own abilities, the ability to assess the weaknesses and strengths of others, and the ability to use her surroundings to the best advantage. She is also fully willing to test out any thing she happened to have recently created in the lab on you.)
Battle Weakness:
• Her physical strength
Zanpakutou
Sealed Tormenta (Storm or Gale)
Appearance: A jet black blade that is in all respects a true ōdachi. It is nearly 5 and a half feet long and has a white guard as well as grip. Extending from the hilt is a single nearly black feather. Most often she wears it across her back although every now and again it switches which shoulder it is over.
Fraccion and Higher
Resurrección Arashi no tsubasa (Storm wings)
Phrase Take flight
Appearance: When Amaya releases her sword dissolves into a thick mist as dark feathers spread across her back and chest, extending down her arms to just above the elbow and down her legs until just above her feet which become long three toed talons. Massive wings extend from her back, and her mask fragment extends along either jaw line to just before her chin. Her eyes are eerily similar to a birds, and her ears are slightly pointed, with tiny pinfeathers covering the tops.
Abilities: Her speed and Hierro are increased and she has the ability to fly, as well as an immunity to electric currents, specifically natural lightning.
Attacks:
• Arashi no shōkan – This is a technique that Amaya prefers not to use considering the massive amount of energy required to initiate it. For all points and purposes, Arashi no shōkan summons any and all nearby clouds to Amaya, creating a dense storm heavily saturated with electricity and her spiritual energy. These storms tend to be very unstable, create a lot of lightning, and pour down rain on anything unlucky enough to be caught under it.
• Element – Lightning – Her control over this usually volatile element is stunning, able to create shocks little more harmful than usual static from a pair of wool socks to full lightning bolts. Her wings generate static and electricity and thus she has an almost unending supply while in the sky, although full lightning bolts do take a considerable amount more to create and control. She also has the ability to channel this energy through her body, meaning that she is at her best in a lightning storm, able to draw the naturally occurring lightning to and then through her at her target.
• Furasshu - A curious technique that allows her to turn herself into lightning, meaning that she can actually jump through the arcs of lightning in clouds. On this same note, she can activate it at any time, including when you stab her with your nice steel sword. It is limited to a one turn attack however, meaning that in the next post she must once again take on a physical form and keep the physical form for another 3 turns in order to build up the electricity once again.
Privaron Espada and Espada (unless given permission)
Resurrección: Segunda Etapa Sutōmu· hāto (Storm's Heart)
Appearance: In all she remains mainly the same although her feathers become sleeker. They also take on an almost silver tone. The only truly notable thing is that she also gains a long tail, long enough that it trails behind her and should she land it would without a doubt get in the way. Thus, she hovers if she truly has to but she prefers to remain mobile.
Abilities: Her ability to generate lightning is greatly increased and at all times it flickers through her feathers. If there isn't lightning, be concerned, be very very concerned.
Attacks:
• Hashira - A powerful attack of her lightning which take a turn to set up although it does not take her concentration to do so. The only warning that she is about to set it off is that the lightning running through her feathers faded away. On the next turn when it is released it releases not 1 but 1D10 lightning bolts which hit randomly at best although she can narrow the aim to be within 30 feet.
• Izureka - The more powerful version of Furasshu in which she doesn't just become lightning, instead she becomes the spirit of the storm. Her feathers fade away into the storm and she can reappear anywhere within in either her flesh form, or in the form of lightning. She is able to stay in this one longer, however it also takes longer to recover from it. (3 turns in it, 7 to recover) The technique is not without risk however. With each time she loses herself to the storm, and runs a risk of not being able to reclaim her physical form. The initial time the first is 1% however with each use after, the % is multiplied by 2, reset each time she returns to her completely sealed form. (Rolled by a D100). Should she lose herself to the storm the battle is over there and she is unable to recover a physical form until a 20 is rolled. (D20)
((Hollows do not get a Zanpakutou, hollows only get basic abilities))

Background History:
Living: Amaya remembers her life well. She lived near the ocean and would often go out sailing as a child. Her family was in charge of the lighthouse and weren’t necessarily rich but they were not poor. At 18 she left home and joined a merchant fleet as their navigator. While the belief at the time was that women were bad luck on ships, Amaya was the exception. Even from an early age she had shown hints of abilities, able to predict what the wind was going to do, and how bad a storm would be, even when the village elders claimed it would do something else. The legend quickly grew about how, no matter what ship, if Amaya Kaori was on it, the wind would never stray, and storms would never so much as rock the ship. She was more than the navigator however, and was as good with a sword or pistol as any other sailor, and many pirates.
Prehollow: Amaya was killed in a pirate raid, and at the time the story was that as soon as she was killed, a storm blew up and destroyed both ships. What actually happened is unknown and Amaya won’t tell, it was confirmed however that one if not both ships were sunk. It took Amaya almost a day to figure out that she was dead. When the raid happened they were only a few miles from her home, so she wasn’t overly surprised when she woke on the shore just down from the lighthouse. True to her training she stayed still, waiting for someone to come. When they didn’t she carefully checked every part for injury before standing.
Amaya’s younger sister was the first person that she ran into. Surprisingly her sister could see her, enforcing Amaya’s belief that she was still alive and had just washed up on shore. Her sister, having heard of the pirate raid was overjoyed. They hurried back to the lighthouse to tell her parents, only to discover that they couldn’t see Amaya. In a state of shock Amaya tired to sit down, only to discover that she fell directly through the chair. Horrified to discover that she was in fact dead Amaya left, headed into the woods. She attended her own funeral out of morbid interest. She became the person her sister turned to for advise and comfort, and thus stayed in the human world.
Hollow: It was nearing a year after she had died when pirates/bandits raided the village. Her sister, who had refused time and again to learn sword, ran to the cliff that Amaya could usually be found on. A handful of pirates/bandits followed. With her sister calling on her for help, Amaya tried to intervene. She failed, the men running directly through her, deaf to her shouts. With her chain already alarmingly short, this pushed her over. Rage filled her, both at herself for being unable to do anything, at her sister for being unable to defend herself, and at the pirates. She wasn’t even conscious of what she was doing until her sister screamed. She had killed the pirates, several of the villagers, and had been seconds away from killing her sister. Horrified at what she had done she retreated once again to the woods.
Amaya’s hollow form was that of a massive bird, with hawk like legs and talons, an overly long tail, a slightly long neck, and a hooked beak. Since she stayed nearby, somehow still conscious and in control, the villagers began to take notice. Never again did bandits, pirates, or anyone else the village disfavored come within 100 miles, and ever be seen or heard from again. Occasionally the villagers would glimpse the hollow, and while they did understand that she would kill without hesitation and devour her victims, they saw her as a protector against ills, as well as the bird of the storm. Mainly that was due to how she was mainly seen silhouetted by lightning during the thunderstorms as she flew through them.
A shinigami drove her out of the area, severely injuring her and forcing her to retreat to Hueco Mundo. Once there she lost her ties to the village, and turned to fighting other hollows. She grew in power quickly, often going after the more powerful in surprise aerial attacks. In Hueco Mundo she quickly discovered her curious ability to use lightning by clapping her wings together, earning her the name Raikou. For a while she joined a group of other birdlike hollows who called themselves The Flock. They would make their way to the menos forest and attack as a team, mainly the weaker Gillian who had wandered a little too far from the group. Their leader was a dark colored hollow who led his group relentlessly until they were just below menos level. At this point he turned on them, trying to devour them one by one. The group dissolved into chaos, with each hollow for itself. Amaya attempted to stay out of it, however that wasn’t possible. She settled instead on only attacking those who attacked her first. When it was all said and done she was the only one of the group that had survived, and through this she became a Gillian. Having already learned various tactics to easily kill Gillian she quickly moved to Vasto Lorde
Arrancar: After becoming a Vasto Lorde, Amaya continued to fight, mainly just because everyone continued to challenge her. Her mask was broken while in a fight with a Adjuchas, and through her sheer will to survive, she became an Arrancar. From there she went into hiding for several years, mastering her abilities before presenting herself to her fellow Arrancars and their possible challenges.
