I wasn't going to reply to this, trying to be above a conflict, but then I saw the date of this post.
1. Hasbro is not taking Derpy away calm down. They have said in many emails she will still be in the background full on wall-eyed.
2. It was not Hasbro that changed the episode it was itunes. DHX did a revision of that part of the episode where they made her not cross her eyes and raised the pitch of the voice. As well as Rainbow Dash not saying her name anymore.
3. People have gotten offended and have their own opinions. I see how some may have viewed this as offensive if not looking into the word "Derp". Considering one of the people on the show has a son who is mentaly handicapped.((his name is Soren btw awesome for him getting a charcter in the show)) read more here:

4. Just because she probably wont have a speaking role anymore does not mean you should flip out. I have seen to many people getting spammed, harassed, gotten death threats, and just all around ugliness for their opinion on this. She is a cartoon horse get over yourself and stop spreading hate just because things are not going your way.
5. Yes, I am glad Hasbro announced her as a cannon character, but lets not forget who made her hmm? None of these background characters of this show would mean anything without us. Hell there are to many shout outs to even count, be lucky the fanbase and creators are as close as they are already. The creators and people who work on the show actually pay attention to the craziness of the fandom and gives us as much thanks for watching as we have for watching. And sending petitions and hate-mail for changing little details is going pretty far.
6. Friendship is magic. If we all forget this lesson whats the point of even watching this show. So stop this pettiness and just love the show and characters for what they are.
