My top ten: - Kino's Journey- Baccano!- Haibane Renmei- Simoun- Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit- Revolutionary Girl Utena- Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 version) - Paranoia Agent- Princess Tutu- Cowboy BebopOther shows/movies that I really like: - Millennium Actress (everything by Satoshi Kon is fantastic; this is just my personal favorite) - The Girl Who Leapt Through Time ( Summer Wars has the same director and is also worth a watch) - The Tatami Galaxy- House of Five Leaves- Wandering Son ( Hourou Musuko) - Aoi Hana- Tiger & Bunny- Toradora!- Taisho Baseball Girls- Mushi-shi- Cardcaptor Sakura- Steins;Gate- Natsume Yuujinchou- Maria-sama ga MiteruI hope you can find something you enjoy in that list.

If you haven't watched any of Hayao Miyazaki's movies, I would heavily recommend giving them a try.

There have been good ones that have come out in the last couple of years like: Black Lagoon,soul eater,and high school of the dead.
Black Lagoon is a more guns and action type anime, Soul Eater is more of a high school drama action packed inter demons kind of anime. High School Of The Dead is what is really sounds like high school dead things and LOTS OF GUNs and tits......but yeah all of them are good and you should watch.
