Star Wars Melee Weapons


Axe: a long handle with a chopping head, ranging from hatchets, which is as much a tool as it is a weapon, to Double headed battle axes used expressly for war.
Bayonet: a blade that can be attached to the end of a rifle allowing it to be used in close quarters combat as a spear or axe. Functions as a knife when not attached.
Club/baton: Clubs a solid length of wood or metal used to break bone and rupture organs with brute force, these weapons are favored by gangers and hoods. Batons are more refined versions of clubs and are used by law enforcement and riot control officers
Combat Gloves: a pair of gloves worn over the hands allowing one to deal greater damage due to their construction, they usually contain weighted plates that allow one to strike with greater force. other, more leathal versions feature a blade that extends over the knuckles when triggered by a presser pad in the hand.
Electrostaff: favored by slavers, this solid piece of metal features an insulated grip at one end and an electrified prod at the other. A simple tap arcs electricity in to the recipient causing debilitating pain and can lead to death if contact is sustained, powered down it functions as a quarterstaff
Force Pike: The more lethal version of an Electrostaff. A force pike is a long hafted weapon with a long heavy blade at the tip it releases a burst of kinetic energy upon contact or at the pull of a trigger on the haft depending on the model. The results are similar to a shotgun blast at close range. Messy but frighteningly effective.
Knife: eight inches of Razor sharp steel enough said
Mace: a heavy weighted club used to bash through armor and shields. Surprisingly effective if used untrained and in the hands of a skilled user, more lethal than a sword.
Quarterstaff: A length of wood or metal used with both hands, effective at blocking and countering with devastating blows.
Spear: Originally used as a hunting weapon, a spear is a length of metal or wood with a blade attached to the end, used for piercing, thrusting and slashing attacks at a safe distance, some feature a cross guard near the tip so the target cannot slide up the weapon towards the user.

Exotic melee weapons

Vibro weaponry: almost all bladed weaponry can be modified to be vibroweapon, vibroblades as they are commonly referred as, are made with a blend of alloys that make them stronger and slightly more flexible than their normal counterparts. They also feature a activation stud and a power pack. When activated, the weapon begins to vibrate t very high frequencies along the combat edge, these weapons cut right through armor and lesser weapons like a light saber through butter.

Echani weaponry: weapons of extreme craftsmanship, echani weapons are works of art as well as being deadly effective. There blades are sharper, more durable and lighter than most other weapons echani are renowned for their double bladed swords. And there vibroblades are on par with lightsabers for being able to cut through metal bulkheads, fiercely guarded they are very difficult to acquire for one who is not of their race.

Ryyk Blades: Native to Kashyyk, Ryyk blades are traditional weapons of the Wookiee people and are constructed with great care, these heavy blades take the form of ornate machettes or bladed tonfa, they are deadly in the hands of a skilled Wookiee user.


Modifications:


Shock mod: adds a power core to the weapon allowing it to be wreathed in lightning at the flip of a switch. The modification makes the weapon somewhat less durable because of the wiring required to carry the current. The user also runs the risk of electrocuting themselves if the conditions are right.
Force mod: adds a power core to the weapon allowing it to wreathe the weapon in a deadly field of detonating force. The modification makes the weapon somewhat less durable because of the wiring required to hold the charge. The weapon also takes some time (approximately two seconds) to build up a charge for an explosive burst, Leaving the user with a standard weapon for that time.
Phrik alloy Construction: an alloy that makes weapons able to resist damage from lightsabers, thus giving the user better odds in close combat with a Jedi or Sith.
Mandalorian design: this modification changes the weapons construction making it heavyer and more durable while sharpening the edges to a greater degree, allowing one to chop through armor with brute strength instead of slicing through with finesse.
