Title of the Anime: Rurouni Kenshin
Genre: Romance/Shonen
Plot/Synopsis/Summary: Once known as Hitokiri Battousai the Legendary Manslayer, Kenshin Himura vowed at the end of the Meiji Revolution to never kill again and dissappeared into the mists of time. Years later a case of mistaken identity leads him to meet Kamiya Kaoru who inherited a sword school from her late father. Kenshin helps to save her school and she attempts to help him forgive himself for his past. Although things seem to start off well the legend of Kenshin's swordsmanship, and his own kind heart, will not let him rest. Kenshin moves forward helping many and defending many until he finally saves Kyoto from a sea of flames. In his ultimate battle Kenshin must face his past and finally come to accept it.
Recommendation: 8/10 I love this show. It's a great story of one man's past and the woman who wishes to relieve him of it. I minused one because there are a few ridiculous scenes that are obvious attempts at showing off Kenshin's abilites. The other I minused was simply because the main anime itself doesn't actually show the final battle, to find that you'll have to get the OVA. It does subtract something from the story, but not so much since the OVA opens that story much more in someways. biggrin

Title of the Anime: Axis Powers Hetalia
Genre: Comedy, Historical
Plot: History in a nutshell. For more of a breakthrough, the manga and anime takes its focus on the main character known as Italy Veneziano (Northern Italy) during World War II, along with his allies Germany and Japan. The Allied Nations are also in this as well, from America to Russia. There is really no underlining plot in this anime, but the good thing is that you already know the plot without even watching the show.
Recommendation: 7/10. As a show in itself, it's nothing more than slapstick comedy with a small budget, linear animation and with historical ties, similar to Family Guy only not as offensive. The fanbase of this show usually come from those who have checked up their history and make up the show like that. What makes this anime so popular is that it is literally based off of history, only the countries of the world are personifications and hence make the world a likable place to live in. The actual anime doesn't really focus on many points in history, but the fans have more than enough fuel in their history text books to make up another Hetalia anime in itself.
This is highly recommended for history nuts or those who want to pass their history classes. It may not teach you new things, but it'll greatly help you remember things.

Title : Gintama
Genre : Comedy, Shōnen, Historcial(?), Action
Plot : In an alternate timeline, Edo Japan is invaded by the Amanto, a bunch of aliens. Sakata Gintoki, whose name once struck fear in the Amanto during the fight to liberate Japan, is now working as a freelancer along with Shimura Shinpachi, a teenager who is trying to save their father's dojo, and Kagura, a young female alien who belongs to the Yato clan, one of the strongest alien clans in the universe. Together, they make Yorozuya.
Reccomendation : 9/10. All together, Gintama is hilarious. There are also times where it can be funny and serious at the same time. The flexibility of the characters and story can create almost any ridiculous story, and it still looks amazing. Though sometimes, the humor can go a bit overboard. In the serious arcs, the fights are well played. Usually in most Shōnen anime/manga, the main character just blasts them all with an uber powered move that was learned in the episode before. Most of the main cast actually fights. This is really important to me personally, as some fights last like 20 seconds. A good example is the end of the Benizakura Movie.

Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai
俺の妹がこんなに可愛いわけがない
Genre: Seinen Plot: It's about the challenges a normal person faces when having a sibling that is "perfect." Kyosuke Kosaka had always been looked down upon or ignored by his family because he could never live up to his naturally gifted younger sister, Kirino. Even she barely acknowledges his existence, until he discovers her dark secret. It becomes up to him to keep her safe from a world that would smother her, and parents that would disown her...all the while dealing with her tsundere attitude. Recommendation: 7 / 10. Oreimo is an adorable story, with characters that can be a bit eccentric but all around fun to watch. If you've ever found it difficult to come out of the closet about a personal hobby or interest, then you can empathize with Kirino.

Title of the Anime: Detective Conan (Case Closed)Genre: Shonen, Action, Adventure, Mystery, Comedy, Romance Plot/Synopsis/Summary: A high school detective named Jimmy Kudo normally helps the police with cases. One day, he is attacked by two criminals with the code names of Gin and Vodka from an evil organization called the Black Organization. They force him to take a poison which was supposed to kill him. Instead the drug shrinks him. Jimmy changes his name to Conan Edogawa and tries to find out more about the drug that shrunk him. He moves in to his friend Rachel's house. Rachel's father is a private detective. While Conan tries to learn more about the drug and Black Organization, he finds himself solving many cases.
