Alright, so... I have some minorly excessive plans for the journal. That's alright, everyone loves lots of info...

But... Yeah. Since the Gaia standard is 15 posts a day, I was thinking about doing 5 posts per rat, with basic information (A bio about the rodent), a 'Gallery' for past images, extra images, and fanarts I or others might do of the rodents, Heritage Tracking, an interactions tracking post, and maybe a Roleplay History and Tracking.

So it'd look like this:
Sle-Ra
- Basic Rattie Overlay
- Gallery
- Heritage Tracker
- Interactions Diary
- Roleplay History & Use tracking

But the first five posts will be other general information.
- Intro YOU ARE HERE!
- How to get ahold of me and where (Soft bio)
- A listing of my rats and a one-two sentence desctriptor
- Quest Post
- Quest Post

I'll go ahead and get started, then. ^-^

ACHIEVING MY ATTENTION!

Roleplay? What?
*Ahcievement: Acquired Ruudles' Attention* (It comes with a tiny little trophy image and a hug)

So, I'm usually pretty easy to get hold of, if you know how. Although I don't hit Gaia every day, I can usually be found on one of at least two IM programs (Three if I'm roleplaying with a particular friend.)

YIM: wolfpaw_dragonwood -yahoo-
MSN: tokilyre_randomness -hotmail-
AIM: ruhanechiisai -aol-

I did that this way to avoid spambots. (They look for email addresses.)

If you want to talk to me, send me an IM on the platform of choice. DO NOT LEAVE IT BLANK or I will block and report you.

And, for those who are curious, I've my own website with a more in-depth introduction. poke through My Den for some fun stuff. ^-^

QUEST POST!
-Fancy Rats-

Name: Shushu (Danger to the Threat, Our Danger's Enemy: Taken from Shu - danger, Enemy)

Sex: Male
Pack Orientation: Golden

History: Shushu is young, but has already garnered reason to hate and be feared. He got loose before the flood, and explored the ground floor of the shop a little on his own, before he knew about the wild rats. At one point, he got caught in a trap, which somehow he can't figure out didn't kill him when it got him. The slip wire around his neck only tightened as he struggled, so he settled in to wait, hoping someone would come and let him loose, maybe to return to the cages. It wasn't the pale furless beings that found him, though, and instead one of Akeshu's Patrol rats. His relief at being found was met with a wicked snarl, before the rat proceeded to tear at the trapped brute. Shu managed to beat him off and sent him skittering, but doesn't remember how he got loose. He found a shelf to live in in the dogs area, and managed to have a boat-bowl available when the waters hit. (He'd been looking into it for nesting possibilities and got lucky.) When the waters receeded, they took the bowl with them, and he hopped out on top of the shelf, to sigh, looking accross the aisle at what remained of his nest, a muddy mess in the back of a dog food bag that hadn't been seen in months, one of the less popular chows. Now he had to start over. And now... The other fancies were free, and the gods had vanished, leaving them to do as they chose.

Shushu is a hulking beast with thick Rexy fur. Atop a cinnamon basecoat rests quite comfortably a lightly silvered Mask overlaying his face. He has one set of forepaw-rends in his fur lining the curves at the top of his visible shoulder, and a set of three claw scars from a hindpaw on his flank, closer to his tail. There's also a very very thin ring of fur missing around his neck. His eyes are not actually red. (I don't know much about rats, so I just used what I knew for the eyes.)

Personality: While he is fun-loving and peaceful with his own tribe, he has reasons to hate the wild ones, and can behave very violently when the inbred mongrels show their eyes around his folk. Shushu does his best to keep the pinklets from seeing this, despite his eagerness to rip them apart: It's not appropriate for creatures so young to see things so foul. When asked about his scars and the missing fur that comes with them, he will take a little darker a moodset, but will offer up the stories, anyways.

Rat No. 1
User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Name: Sle-Ra (Sled Rat)
Breed: Fancy
Markings: Husky (Genetics)
Colorist: Revel

Colony: Trying for Bitey
Rank: Keshu
Mate: None currently
Family: None currently

Personality: Sle-ra is something of a calculating creature, waiting on the edges when there's no immediate threat to observe, to wait for an answer to the all-important question: Friend, or target? Her trust for the 'Great Ones' is lacking, thanks to a series of accidents involving their young that led to her escape, and she regards most theories that they'll return with a cold manner and a scoff.

History: Sle-ra's spent a lot of time alone, hiding in a food bag on one of the bottom shelves, before the waters swept through and the great ones she hid from vanished. Several care-breech incidents occurred before then with careless young Great Ones, and she eventually was dropped and got away from them. She now seeks to make herself useful in a group, expecting the wilde rats to come out and start picking fights soon: There is less assurance of survival alone than there is with a colony, so at this point, any colony works, and one happens to be convenient.

Plans:
-Join Bitey's colony as a Keshu
-Find mate
-Have lots of beautiful husky-mix ratbabies

Buck No. 1

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Name: Budda Scosh (Butter Scotch)
Breed: Fancy
Markings: Hooded something-or-other (Genetics)
Colorist: Revel

Colony: N/A
Rank: N/A
Family: Horticulture's Redai

Personality: A curious rat, Budda took his name from one of the small number of beasts that had visited them in the back room. The original terminology was 'Butterscotch', and usually had a reference to his marking - a hood - following it, but he didn't bother adapting that part to his name. Budda is happiest when he's exploring, or talking to his sister. He's not always as worried about food as he might ought to be, but he has no problem with an out-of-the-way nest, which he is more than pleased to maintain himself, keeping it clean and fresh with little-to-no outside help, aside from his sister's paws, if she wants to offer them to the task.

History: In a tank in the back room, Budda lived with his sister through the flood. They've only recently ventured out into the world that they've never known, to find out what it might hold for them... With no small amount of prodding from Budda to his sister, of course.

Plans:
-Join a colony with sister
-End up with pups (via a fling, maybe, or something 'accidental')
-Get training as a Keshu to make use of size/girth

Background Log
The back room was dark, now. It had always been dim, but now, after the waters soaked and ruined the floor, even the dim sun of a light didn't hum to life anymore. The massive, warm beasts that had come before to play with the little pinklets had disappeared, and they were alone, in the dark.

Their mother had given her tiny life to feed them, when the beasts stopped coming... When the quiet sun ceased that almost comforting, incessant hum. The silence was deafening. The three siblings they'd had had fled already... Disappeared into the unknown. And suddenly, their aloneness was as frightening as the silence and the dark.

With only one another, the last of the breeding, the runts of the last litter of pinklets the monster-gods had helped produce, realized that if they did not find food, they would starve. Without the companionship they had grown so used to, they would wither.

Together, they were strong, but they wanted more than just each other. Friends. Family. Others to snuggle up with, when it got cold, and something to do on a regular basis. The back room was safe, and they were sure there was clean food there somewhere.

"But really... What good is safety and security if we don't know what's out there? There's gotta be others..." Budda muttered from his little corner, next to his sister, looking for her opinion at the matter. "We should go look... See what Mama's world was like..."

Redai rubbed her paws together worriedly. "I Know Budda, and we will need more food and water soon, but still." She looked anxious. "What if there are enemies out there?"

Budda sighed and nodded. "It is perhaps a chance we must take." He murmured softly. "We've food here, but water will be harder to find, if we don't start looking soon."

"If we follow our noses we can find it, don't you think?" She asked.

He nodded. "We will still have to go beyond our room, eventually, Redai. Or whatever dangers we might face without will come to us..."

"Oh!" She lifted her head, nose questing towards the door to their place. "I would rather find them on more favorable ground.... "

Budda nodded and sighed, patting his sister's shoulder softly. "We must find out one way or another, and I would rather not wait." He muttered the last part, but smiled softly at the chocolate-drizzled fae. "We can always keep close to home and hurry back if things sour."

The pat comforted her. "I guess we shall go then brother.... " She smiled back at him softly. 'yes, we can return if we need to, a place to retreat."

He smiled and nodded, pushing the broken ratwheel up against the corner again, where it would sit still while he climbed it, with his sister's help, and she with his, once he was above, on the cage's edge (Which would make the little plastic box tilt, as it always did, until the opposing end hit the bottom of the shelf above, which always made climbing out a little easier.) "I'll go first, so you needn't worry if things are unsafe."

Redai smiled happily. "Thank you brother." She held the ratwheel still for him and joined him outside, pausing for a moment to look back, before turning to look ahead. "You first brother, I'll support you."

He smiled and patted his sister's head gently. "You are always there when I need you, Re." He purred, smiling up at her. "Watch the box's bounceback." He offered, before angling himself and hopping for one of the cornerposts of the shelfrack to slide down it, keeping his pace slow and his tail coiled lightly around the comparatively large pipe-material as he skidded down it, to await his sister at it's trunk, in case she needed help.

She made sure her tail was out of the way at her brother's warning, and watched the path he took down, following after dexterously. She dropped down next to him lightly and looked around. Everything had a different perspective from different angles, it was one thing she enjoyed experiencing. Timidly she took a step or two along the bottom of the shelves towards the crack of the door where the water had come from, and where some fresh air came now, looking back for Budda.

The brute smiled when his sister joined him, rubbing her nose with his own in greeting when she arrived, and let her go first when she let her paws and her nose guide her, following along after with a smile at her mild boldness. "We might be able to get under the door." He started working at the door, to attempt to wriggle under the heavy device.

"Oh right, you mean I might be able to fatty." She grinned and shoved his shoulder playfully, flattening herself to crawl into the crack. Her whiskers twitched as her nose quested forward leading the way. She squirmed her way through, but stopped seeing some light before her, uncertain.

He curled back his lips at her as he worked at the opening, pressing himself to the floor to try to slide easier. he paused in his little squirmy struggle when his sister did, glancing sideways at her. "It's okay, Redai..."

Redai met his gaze for a second, then squirmed her way out into the light. She looked around quickly, searching for danger, before turning back to see if her brother needed help. Her ears continued to twitch and her whiskers quivered a touch alert for danger.

Budda lay his head on his paws for a minute, chuckling at his sister's momentary shifts in personality. "Might... Take me a minute..." He muttered, before he tried a cat's stretch, plopping out from under the door after a few long moments of scratching (And leaving marks in the soggy linoleum), he set to straighening his fur, and looking around, slowly moving over towards... Anything else in the massive world that now lay before the pair, curiously. "... It's... Lookit, Redai! It's huge! I... I could explore for days and not see it all!" he purred, grinning as he looked around, slowly wandering out from the door a touch, remembering at some point to look back for his sister. "C'mon... Let's look around..."

Name: Ti'kkan
Breed: Wild
Markings: Wild Gray-brown (Genetics)
Colorist: Roserain

Colony: Thesashuchur (Clan who scares enemies off)
Rank: Keshu
Family: Any wild rat in Ukeshu's landing.

Ti'kkan is a bitter, hostile creature, who doesn't bother curbing his snapping at his own kind. He has a mild fascination with teh brighter of the tame rats - in the direction of the human fascination with shiny things - but does his best not to let that get in his way, when he's got something to do. It... Doesn't always work out that way.

Personality: A bitter, hostile creature, Ti'kkan has not one problem with snapping at members of his own portion of existance. He entertains a mild fascination with tame rats and their patterns, preferring does of their hide over those of his own. Despite this, he has no intention to let this get in the way of his orders, when they come from somerat more important than he. While he would love to have one of his own, he will await permission from his alpha, before he sets out to capture one of tame patterning to tend his nesting spaces.

History: Ti'k grew up in the colony. He's not, honestly, sure exactly how he survived the flood, though he does remember being stuck in a caved-in little run with a few whelps and a panicked doe (None of whom survived the ordeal) for a while. He didn't bother collapsing that cavern behind him when he finally dug out to meet a team that was looking for survivors. The diggers did it for him. Shortly after this, he was sent with a group on a mission to find, and subsequently destroy, one of those tame mongrels; the white ones with the red eyes, who usually symbolize a coming disaster. Along the way, he gained a few injuries, including an ear piercing from his leader, for fighting amongst the squadron that was the group, granted Charon deserved that set of rends on his haunch. Not long after this, maybe 5 minutes, he found himself fighting for his life in the jowels of a hungry snake. Only a smidge of help from Charon and Osatak later, the serpent slithered off with her nose rent to shreds at his claws, a victorious smirk on the rat's maw. The encounter left his right flank dressed with the serpent's imprint, a mark that will forever maw his skin, and one he will use to demand the attention of a doe, if he ever finds one he wishes his own.

Superficial (Non-genetic) Edits and Scars:
Snakebite lining most of his right flank and associated underbelly.
Hole in one ear from which will eventually hang an earring.
Dye.

Plans:
-Survive the Meta
-RP with Fen and Ukeshu
-Obtain a Fancy doe for him to obsess over
-Breed with and fawn over fancy pet-slave

Buck No. 3

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.
Name: Usoattaksim (Lord who Finds High Safe Homes)
Breed: Wild
Markings: Black with double red eyes (Genetics)
Colorist: Roserain

Colony: Thesashuchur (Clan who scares enemies off)
Rank: Alpha
Family: Any Keshu in his clan

Personality: Usoattaksim is a calculating creature. When he is speaking to another rat, his attention is usually split, with the main focus on the conversation, and the secondary looking over his potential opponent, as all creatures in this world are. He does the same with his own family as with the snake next door, the lizard accross the floor, and the birds in the rafters: It only takes pissing them off once to be attacked.

While Usoattaksim has a weakness for the young and a kind heart, he prefers to display it in a ruthless manner that translates to 'I'm right and you're about to be slaughtered' in several dictionaries. He does, however, prefer bloodless solutions when it's possible to find them, and actively looks for them with the time allotted for it.

His oppinion of tamepelts is not a fond one, but he realizes they have their place: Under his paws.

History: When the soft brown buck that came up first found the area, he overlooked it, and kept moving with a little band of rats that had managed to dig themselves out from the rubble of collapsed caves. Before long, the brown grew ill, and the rest of the pack's numbers had dwindled or been picked off, until the unusual pitch rodent stepped up.

Usoattaksim beat the rat into submission and bid his newfound followers fill their tummies on the beast that had led them to such crisis. While they did, he climbed a nearby shelf to get the lay of the land. He clacked his fangs: This place... This human place... How horrible it was that they were forced to wander nomadically here! How unfair! How-

usoattaksim barely dodged the sharp talons of a cockatiel landing from the rafters above. His followers below huddled while they were eyed by the other birds, fluffed and disgruntled, or fighting loose from their cages nearby. It was a short fight, though, Usoattaksim a young, eager buck who was more lithe in a leap than the bird was in a dive, or hover. The strange yellow beast was off, before long, and Usoattaksim had an idea. He turned his beady red eyes to where the bird had come from... Before the waters. That massive shelf of cages and dwelling, including that glass tank the canaries had once occuppied, now laced with a shattered hole in one of the lower corners where the flood had slammed a seed block into it: it was a wonder the cage was still in tact, really, let alone maintaining the semi-decent shape it did.

The hole was well-sized. The canaries had hopped out it, and now... The clan would climb into it!

Usoattaksim quickly led his rats to this shelf and found more sanctuary, and more trouble, than he could have expected. The shelving unit stood next to the dog kennels, and at the top, entertained untouched, single-bird cages that hung from their hooks evenly, dry and safe, and even laced with food. He quickly set his most agile upwards to claim the corpses, while he settled his pack into the canary tank. Their numbers were small, and it would take a LOT to rebuild anything, let alone the massive numbers they'd had.

But there was room here. There was space. There was safety, even from the birds, and there was food nearby. And beyond that, there were individual dwelling arrangements for families, and a nursery space. The top three shelves were occupied by such cages as often entertained cockatiels or parrots, some of the larger birds, with one gilded cage that looked dipped in gold built for a single canary; this was the scout tower, of course. The lock was even easy to work!

The cages on the shelves below that, however, had not been on hooks, but were more plentiful. Some stood tall, while several on the lower shelf, which was more sparse for it's contact with the flood than the one above it, had fallen to their sides, to create larger living spaces who's doors acted like drawbridges.

The rats taught themselves the simpler locks quickly, and let the more complex ones wait for others to learn them. The gilded cage was easy to learn, and perfect for a scout.

Now, it was simply for Usoattaksim to figure out... How to replenish his numbers with only the 8 that had survived, only 3 of whome were does: He would need new blood soon, and taking it from the wild colonies, while it might be easy, now... May not be wise in the long run.

Superficial (Non-genetic) Edits and Scars:
None, at the moment

Plans:
-RP with everyrat
-Enact my dastardly plans
-Have a favorite Doe to ride in his gilded cage

Bandit moved along the shelf he'd made his small den in a corner of. The adolescent was off to forage for some more food, he felt he was running low, and another stash never hurt. Especially when any one of his stashes could be found and stolen by another rat older and stronger than him, or even a sneaky little mouse or hamster. If he ever found the mouse that had raided his stash earlier he was going to eat it he told himself. He paused at the shelf edge, and peeked over, looking up first for potential birds who saw him as food before looking down across the flood-damaged floor for food traces.

ShahFii wasn't far off, sniffing around for that scent she'd been trying to pin down for days, not that she'd had any luck, so far. She was unsure of her place, anymore, left alone by her clan a lot and spending most of her time wandering around the area as if on some patrol. She never found anything; maybe some seeds that were deemed edible by the lack of mould or something... Though she was sure that wasn't meant to be grouped with other edibles as a result of the flood, when she found it. She'd been too hungry to care at the time.

Bandit paused, his whiskers twitching. That was ratscent, female ratscent. He moved towards it curiously. Most rats in this area were like him, marked and not wild. He didn't need to be cautious. At least he thought. He spotted the female nearby, and sat on his haunches to look at her. She was sniffing around herself, he wondered what she was trying to find.

The doe on the ground seemed largely oblivious to the rat above her, scratching around on the slick floorboard, algea left behind from the flood fighting to take root, or moss creeping out of the wood for the water that washed away the polish hiding it's escape, perhaps. She sighed and shook her head, turning into the bottom shelf to dig around in one of the bags, her slender tail hanging out into the aisle behind her.

He sniffed again, he didn't smell any other rats nearby. This couldn't be a trap, she didn't notice him? he didn't think she had. Cautiously he skittered to the next shelf down as quietly as he could, turning to check on her again. She was still nose-into that bag. He scrambled down two more shelves to reach the floor, and sat on his haunches looking across the aisle at her, whiskers twitching.

Shah hummed and sighed as she backed out of the bag, sniffing at a piece of dogfood that had suffered the soggieness of the flood to decide if it was safe. At the very least, it wasn't poisoned... her ears perked, though, when she heard the light scratching of claws on the tile behind her, just a soft sound, not even enough for a whole rat. She turned slowly, peering around her shoulder at her water, either suspicious or timid; it was hard to tell, exactly. Something about her said she wasn't sure, herself.

Bandit went down to all fours, and moved forward a bit timidly, not wanting to scare her. "Hello..." The adolescent called out softly, "What are you doing here?" He tilted his head to the side.

Shah flinched as the young buck approached her, but seemed to relax when he gave himself a voice. "... Hi..." She muttered. "Just... Wandering..." I muttered. "I do it a lot more, now, than I used to..."

Bandit tried to make himself friendly and unthreatening. He kept his voice soft. "Wandering? But what did you used to do then?"

Shah hummed, sitting up and cradling her bit of uncertain food. "Well... I'm... Partof one of the clans, but... It's been getting... Real quiet lately... So I wander around a little." She shrugged softly, looking up at bandit curiously. "And... You?"

He smiled at her "I thought clans were always active. It's not really safe to wander though. My dam always said wild rats would eat us." He looked away at her question. "I was scouting." was all he said.

She hummed, nodding softly. "Yes, well... Things happened and... I'm.. Not sure, it seems many don't know... Exactly... How to respond to me, anymore." She shrugged softly, looking down at her food. "I'm sorry, would you care for some? I... -think- it's safe, but it does smell a little funny, with all the water around here."

"Oh, um..." he trailed off catching the slightly off scent of her tidbit. "Ah, why don't you leave that, I stashed some good food near here, that does smell a little off, and a female shouldn't risk her health." He turned to head off and looked back for her . "You know, you don't seem off, I don't know why they would. I thought clans were supposed to be wonderful things."
