Theme Song: All That I Am - Rob ThomasPersonality: Gentle - Soft-spoken and compassionate; Shinrei is a kind man. He never reacts in any way violently or cruel. In everything he does Shinrei means well and it shows on his face and in his actions. It is possible to anger him, though for the most part he feels only a deep sadness and a desire to help you.
Idealistic – He strongly believes there is good in everyone and that if he only offers a smile and shoulder to cry on, everything will turn out fine. Shinrei is full of this endless optimism. Every time something bad happens, he continues to tell himself it will get better… and when it eventually does, it simply reaffirms that belief. He is prepared to work hard if necessary to achieve his dreams of unity between Pokemon and humans.
Composed – Are you angry? Perhaps you should go yell at somebody else. Shinrei will not bat an eyelash. He will however, calmly ask you if you would like a drink of water… once you’ve done stomping around that is. Shinrei is completely unruffled by what goes on around him. He watches and learns, and reacts to everything with the same serene look. Very few things are able to shatter his composure.
Self-sacrificing – Your well-being, in Shinrei’s mind, is more important than his. He will not hesitate too give up everything he has if it is necessary. He has grown up within a group and can not imagine not being willing to die for his fellow Pokemon. If you become his friend, you are guaranteed a companion that will ultimately give his all for you. His dream is also his duty, and he will sacrifice his own happiness in order to realise it. Sometimes Shinrei takes this too far and it is thus easy for cruel minded people to manipulate him.
Absent-minded – Shinrei will forget your name, and don’t even attempt to make an appointment with him, because he will not turn up. Not only does this Chimecho have no sense of time, he has no sense of obligation when it comes to arriving at all punctually. He often becomes quite lost in his own thoughts or simply becomes engrossed in something for so long he forgets exactly where he is and that he might have places to be. Less important facts (like how you like your coffee) tend to slip his mind, but it’s hard to be too angry when he simply smiles and shrugs.
Likes: Music, night, butterflies, honey, children, cuddling, forests
Dislikes: Cruelty, thunder storms, fire, alcohol, the taste of coffee (does however like the smell)
Hobbies: Singing, learning how to read, studying humans
Strengths: Quickly adapts to most situations. Fast learner. Isn't deterred by failure. Has great musical ability.
Weakness: Unwilling to completely believe things he had been told until he has experienced it for himself. Is a pacifist with no fighting ability at all. Prone to illness.
Quirks: - Does not understand the concept of possessive love or marriage. Those are ‘human’ ideas and they both baffle and amuse him. As a Pokemon, there was no such things as promises yourself to someone for life and he can’t imagine being annoyed if a current or former mate took on another partner.
- Also has no concept of personal space. As a Chimecho he was always around his fellow Pokemon, constantly clinging to each other for support and just because they enjoyed being close. Thus Shinrei has a hard to time realising when he has overstepped the bounds, or that his touch might be taken as something more...
