Location: {ident}The Tellius Adventure Agency.
Time: {ident}Dawn.
((Note: This is meant to be a fun, OOC roleplay.)) ---
It was just before daybreak on February 29th. In a small city, in a decent part of town, in a small strip mall, there rested the Tellius Adventure Agency. Nobody knew what it was, or what it did. Passerby would stop, stare, and then move on again, their attention directed to either the Old Navy on the left or the GameStop on the right.
It was a brisk morning, one in which you could feel a crisp snap in the air and see your breath hang before you for what seems like forever. Winter had been late in coming this year, but had come with a vengance. While there was no snow to be seen and little wind, the sub-zero temperatures were not to be taken lightly.
Presently, a small, sputtering, white sedan pulled into the strip mall's parking lot, and came to rest neatly in a parking spot close to the aforementioned store. Two heavily bundled figures emerged from within, covered so tightly that their appearance was completely masked. They approached the Tellius Adventure Agency, and the shorter of the two pulled a small key from his pocket, unlocking the front door, before motioning their companion indoors, who was much too eager to oblige.
Closing the door behind him, Sparky tossed his key onto the desk near the front door, breathing heavily the stagnant, but decidedly warmer air inside the building. Peeling off his winter wear, he hung his coat and scarf upon the clothes stand, directing the other to do the same. "Hachah. It's freezin' out again today. I don't really mind the cold, but I wish this winter would hurry up and be done with. I wanna see some green."
The other figure emerged from beneath his folds a bit slower than Sparky, his light-blue hair messy from being withheld by a knit cap. "Oh, quit whining, Sparks. It's winter, so deal with it." Chaon threw his winter gear over Sparky's and strode through the office and into the back room. Flipping on the coffee machine, the dragon laguz examined the meager options of beans, and settled on a Peruvian blend.
Sparky ignored the antics of his roommate and seized the dial of a worn-out looking radio, tuning into a talk show. "...with a forecasted high of four degrees. Low tonight will drop way down into the negative twenties, with more sunshine but even colder temperatures tomorrow, subzero all day. Things will warm up on Friday, but will stay below freezing well into next week. That's it for the weather, here's Gary at the news desk."
Chaon came back into the main room, a steaming cup of coffee in both hands. Sparky gratefully accepted the mug, warming his hands through the heated porcelain. The raven-haired man leaned back in his office chair, feet up on his desk, eyes closed. His companion settled down on the waiting sofa, sprawling out over all three cushions, before picking up a travel magazine from the small coffee table in from of him. They'd wait for a few more to show up before opening up shop.

"See, Tiki! Someone's inside! I told you they weren't night-dwelling zombie-robot-vampires who feed on cheese and sunflowers!" a young white-blue haired girl reprimanded her green haired friend. They both had an ancient feeling about them, yet they seemed to act how they appeared: like young adults. "Nu-uh! I'll show you, Teeeerra" The green haired girl named Tiki started knocking on the door. Terra just face-palmed. "We're so dead."

As the knocking resounded throughout the empty office, Sparky, alarmed, lost control of his chair, the wheels slipping forward while his body was sliding backwards. He ended up with his head on the ground and feet still on the desk, chair lying on the floor. "Whoa! I think I just about died."
Chaon sighed, lifting the magazine off his face, where he had placed it when he had dozed off a couple minutes ago. "Don't be so dramatic, Sparks. It's just some kids."
"Really?" Sparky asked, still on the ground, the shock of falling hadn't yet faded. "My side or your side?"
"Your side. But...they may not be natives."
"You're joking."
"Nope."
The raven-haired man groaned, pushing himself up from the ground and looking at the two girls outside the glass-paned storefront. His eyes darted around their heads, looking for the telltale signs. But he was unable to discern their identities because they were bundled up against the cold. "Branded?"
"One of them, at least. Perhaps beorc."
"Call them humans when we're on this side, remember?" Righting his chair, Sparky walked over towards the door. He stopped to flip the CLOSED sign to OPEN, and pushed the unlocked door outwards. "Come inside, you two must be freezing."

"Cold? No, this is nothing compa--" Terra covered Tiki's mouth. "Pay no heed to her. She is a lost child Then again, so am I, in a way." Terra muttered in a way that was almost inaudible. They both gave their thanks to Sparky and entered the building. Tiki latched onto Terra's arm, her hand seemingly slightly smaller than just minutes before. Terra gently brushed off the girl. The mood had suddenly turned grim.

"Lost? Why would you pick here, of all places, to ask directions?" Sparky asked, heading back over to his desk. Chaon placed the magazine back on the table, looking at the girls with renewed interest. "Surely the people at Old Navy weren't too intimidat-"
As the two girls removed their heavy outfits, glad to be inside, Sparky gazed for a second, before laughing in surprise. "Oh, hey Tiki! Didn't recognize you under all those clothes! Haven't seen you in a while! Your vacation up already?"
"You...know her?" Chaon asked, half surprised, half suspicious.
"She's been working here longer than I have." Sparky answered, nodding in her direction. "So technically I should be calling you Tiki-senpai or something like that." He laughed again, motioning for the two to make themselves comfortable. "Who's your friend? Oh, but first, coffee? We have hot chocolate, too, if that's your cup of tea."

"Actually, it ended a week ago. I got lost, but Terra here helped me. And yes, hot chocolate please!" Tiki sat on an office chair and spun in it once or twice. "It took me awhile to find it out exactly, but I've never been as good in this business as you, Sparky." Her eyes momentarily flickered to the other girl's wrist. As if on cue, Terra sat down and absent-mindedly held her wrist. "I-it was nothing." she replied in advance. She appeared rather confused.

"Chaon." Sparky pointed with his head to the direction of the back room. The dragon laguz slowly rose from the couch and proceeded to start the cocoa preparation. "Lost? On this side?" Sparky scratched his chin for a second, but then remembered something that Chaon had said.
"Tiki...I need to talk to you. Can you come into the office for a sec?" He motioned to the walled-off section of the agency. He had a personal office, being the Vice Captain, but he preferred to sit near the front door. He strode over to it now and unlocked it with his key. He entered the room and sat down in his cushy executive chair.

"I'll be right back, Terra," Tiki shrugged, "He's probably going to dock my pay for being back a week late." Tiki got out of the office chair and she followed Sparky into the exectutive office.

Sparky proffered Tiki a chair, then sat down in his own and interlaced his fingers in a Gendou pose. "So...I see you made a friend from the other side."
Chaon came back into the front room, a mug of steaming cocoa in his hand. Looking around, he could see Sparky and Tiki having a serious conversation in his office, so he wisely decided against intruding.
He held out the hot chocolate to Terra, who looked a bit lonely, sitting the the front room by herself.

"She looked panicked to me. And paranoid. She definitely had the tell-tale signs. So I used the 'innocent lost child' routine," She let her hair out of her ponytail to try to warm her neck faster.Â
Terra looked down at her knees thinking. Just thinking. She then felt something warm nearby. Terra glanced up and saw Chaon with the hot chocolate. As to not seem cold-hearted, she showed a fleeting smile. "Thanks..." she said, accepting the drink.

Christina heard about the Tellius Adventure Agency. It sounded interesting and she was having a very boring day, so she decided to check it out. When she entered the building she saw three guys and two girls. "Hey Terra and others," Christina yelled as she walked over to Terra, since she was the only Christina really knew.

Upon hearing her name, Terra jumped, spilling the hot chocolate on her legs. "Hothothothothothothothothothothothot! HOT!" she leaped up and ran past Christina, trying to cool off in the cold air outside. She walked back in, slightly embarrassed by her behavior. "Hehe... Hi Christina!" Tiki peeked out to the front room. "Oh no! I just got that carpet!"

This is what I was working on, until Tiki posted. "And so you should have. Chaon informed me of the same thing. But the question remains...how did she get here? She obviously didn't come through the shop. Where did you find her?" Sparky picked up his cup of coffee again and used the hot porcelain to warm his cold hands.
Chaon nodded gently as Terra accepted the beverage. Oh yes, he could tell her heritage. He'd lived long enough to be around many just like her.
Suddenly, and without warning, the old door in the back of the office opened, and Christina walked in. The dragon laguz had been taking a sip of his coffee when she waltzed in, seemingly unfazed by the fact that she had just entered a world about a thousand years of progress ahead of her own. The coffee that had been in his mouth was now on the opposing wall, sprayed there by his surprise. He hadn't got a good look at the intruder's face, but he wasn't about to take a chance.
"Sparks! Someone just came through the door!" Kicking the coffee table in the middle of the room over to create a makeshift barrier, he grabbed Terra and pulled her behind it. He couldn't transform, not in this world, and not in this tiny office. "And so you should have. Chaon informed me of the same thing. But the question remains...how did she get here? She obviously didn't come through the shop. Where did you find her?" Sparky picked up his cup of coffee again and used the warm porcelain to warm his cold hands.
It took Chaon a second before he realized he was looking at one of the girls who had joined up with the Greil Mercenaries. He largely ignored Terra's behavior to focus on the newcomer.

Christina had a shocked look on her face when Terra ran past her yelling like a crazy person, because she had burnt herself. When Terra came back in Christina scratched her head with shame and said, "Sorry....Terra....I didn't mean to scare you. I can buy you some new clothes to replace your stained ones. Hey lets go back to where you were, you didn't need to move." She then headed to the room where everyone else was. Cristina then did a small curtsy, but it was kind of weird since she was wearing pants. "Hello everyone my name is Christine, and I'm pretty sure I never met any of you before..." She then started to look around the room and the areas outside of the office. "Um... what exactly is this place?"
