Appearance: Tall and sharply-dressed black man with a strong yet wiry physique. His style is different from most other peoples', mixing slick designer clothes with fatigues, which may seem strange, yet it makes him look as if he’d be equally at home in an upscale city district or in the rugged and dangerous alleys of a heavily-war-torn and stricken city. He also sports several trademark accessories, namely his glasses and the rings he always carries, some of which are tied very closely with his shady past and bloody history.

Bio: No one knows much about Matthias except that he’s the biggest magical arms dealer south of Granicus, trading in both modern and magical weapons, both from Mundus Magicus and the “real” world (Mundus Vetus) as mundanes tend to call it. He has sold large quantities of arms to multiple parties in numerous low to high-intensity conflicts that have broken out in both worlds over the years, caring little for who he sold them to or what they were going to be used for; just so long as he didn’t end up in their sights later on. He has recently taken an extended trip to Mundus Vetus to replenish his stocks and escape the wrath of Megalosembrian agents sent to shut his business down and apprehend him for supposedly selling a particularly dangerous and powerful artifact to a group accused of planning terrorist attacks outside their capital. As of now, he is open for business, just “half-a-step-away” outside of Mahora itself.

Personality: Matthias is as cool, slick, and calculating as anyone in his profession should be; clever and shrewd in his dealings and never without an escape plan on hand in case somebody unwanted manages to track him down or dealings don’t go through the way he wants. However, outside his usual hideouts and business dealings, Matthias is both debonair and friendly….yet one can always sense that there’s an exceptionally hard, dangerous, and predatory aspect to his personality.

Reason Here: He’s currently laying low and waiting for things to clear up in Mundus Magicus. However, with the way things are heating up around Mahora, Matthias just might stay a little bit longer to cash in on the impending conflict and bloodshed.

Associates: Kawazoe Masato and Suzuki Ayame, who have dealt with him on multiple occasions in the past. He actually considers those two to be friends, but yet remains wary of them just as he is towards anyone else. He also knows Ian's master Zoreken, though he refuses to disclose any details on him; as is the case regarding the rest of his customers...no one likes snitches and snitches ruin business.

Length of Time: Long enough for things to clear up on the “other side” and for him to pull a profit off the impending conflict.

Other: Matthias is an equal-opportunity arms dealer and has no qualms with selling anything to anyone, just so long as they won’t pose a threat to him later on. What happens after that is not his concern. However, there are exceptions to that rule as he does have a cold-blooded hatred towards the Underdark Slavers (in Mundus Magicus) who trade in children to be used either as whores in the seediest brothels or as cannon fodder in many untold and forgotten conflicts. Matthias bears deep scars (most of them mental) from being part of the latter and has neither patience nor mercy for slavers and their ilk. He’s sold high-powered weapons just above the buying price to the eastern tribes who are regularly targeted by those groups and supplied them with copious amounts of other supplies so they can continue living free and carry on their fight.
